Communication with the staff was top notch. We had a late check in after the office closed they left instructions for us plus turned on the heat pump so we arrived to a lovely warm room. Complimentary milk was placed in our fridge if we wanted a cuppa after a long day travelling. We loved the location do close to everything we parked the car up and walked to where we needed to go. Kitchen is well stocked. Room is set up for three people do there was three of everything in the kitchen. They leave you pool towels to take with you which is a nice touch means you don’t have to juggle shower and pool towels. Bed is super comfortable. We will definitely stay again. We were in room 12.

Walks were a little thin could hear the neighbours but nothing too major. Bathroom silicon needs a bleach or replace a little nothing major.

Very central, 2 mins walk or less into the centre of town and hotpools, but also very private and quiet. The rooms have everything you need, amazing strong shower pressure and hot water. The managers are excellent, friendly and helpful. I really loved the stay and would recommend and I'd stay again if travelling pet free.

The only down side was that the walls between rooms are quite thin, we had people talking in the room next door until after midnight the first night and could hear this even though they weren't being super loud, just talking in normal voices. Also I found the Queen bed super firm, i do like a solid bed but something with a touch of give that's just personal preference though.

Just across the road from the hot pools, a fantastic location. Trish and Lou, the hosts, were amazing and full of local knowledge on which jet boat trip was best and why. And all sorts of other local secrets including which restaurants to visit. We decided to stay an extra night rather than going back to Christchurch early because they were such neat people.

The room wasnt too big, very cosy and warm at night, was very close to everything in Hamner so I didnt have to walk super far or drive. I liked how the kitchen was the right size, everything was exceptional for the amount i paid for the room. I will definetly be going back next year.

The shower was a bit small and the water pressure was a bit much, everything else was very nice.

Excellent location and friendly, welcoming staff. We were welcome to park our vehicle there earlier than check in and grab some towels to head to the pools, which was extremely handy :-)

Walls are quite thin and we could hear everything next door, which made us mindful of our privacy. Rooms could also do with a bit of an update (TV was pretty old and remote picked and chose when it would work). Was difficult to wash dishes in the little jug provided, but we made it work.

Very tidy unit with a large bathroom area, good space in the room and a comfy bed. The unit is well shaded from the sun and very handy for the hot springs. Extra towels provided for the hot springs. Good wifi.

Was surprised (given that the unit had a fridge, microwave, plates, dishwashing liquid and brushes, etc.) that there was no sink (i.e., dishes had to be done in the bathroom). This wasn't a issue for us as we only stayed one night, but would be inconvenient for a longer stay. Our unit had a connecting door (for large family groups we assume), which let sound through from the next unit. Again, this wasn't a problem for us as our neighbours were pretty quiet and retired early, but if they had been (say) watching TV late it could have been problematic.

Able to have a late checkin due to travel conditions at the time. Right across the road from the pools so nice easy access.

Not a dislike.... More of a disappointment..... We booked the room as it had a spa bath. On arrival it was not working for some reason.... Would have been nice to have the option to change rooms but the fault was not disclosed to us.

Perfect location, great budget friendly accomodation. Lovely couple who own it. Size was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. Rooms could definitely do with a makeover and really good clean. We stayed in April when it was sunny- it did have aircon but I would probably book elsewhere if I came in winter as the rooms were cold and all windows were very wet in the morning.

location an easy stroll to the pools and town centre. Very clean and well maintained. Room had everything to make my stay a great experience. The owners are super friendly and lovely to chat too.

Only thing I wasn't keen on was the shower over the bath with nothing to hold on to, I did find it a bit uncomfortable showering as sometimes am a bit unstable on my feet.

Hamner Springs is a lovely place to visit or live. Very picturesque and plenty to see and do. The Alpine Lodge was a lovely place to stay with friendly and helpful owners/staff.

I booked 2 different rooms (1 for 2 people and 1 for 3 people). Rooms were quite spacious although 1 room was a little dated and the bathroom small. 1 room did not have aircon which made sleeping at night a little uncomfortable.
