Loved the fact that it is a pet friendly hotel, they take care of a very cute, old stray dog and also they have a lovely cat in the breakfast area. Breakfast was one of the best, a lot of variety and they cook you eggs just how you want them. As suggested by its name, the hotel has a modern look and the room has a cool vibe. The parking space is not their own so you have to pay for it. Very kind and helpful staff, really appreciated the way they spoke to us.

The room was clean in general, however they could pay a bit more attention to details, our foot towel was already dirty.

Everything. The location of the hotel is great, right in the heart of the city you can basically walk everywhere. The rooms are cozy and modern. But what really made us enjoy our stay was the staff. Everyone was so kind and helpful and we really appreciate it. The restaurant recommendations they made were amazing and they were always positive and happy to help. One of the ladies from reception gave us a Polaroid camera so we can take pictures with all the landmarks in city and i think this was a really nice touch. We’d like to thank all of them for making our stay truly amazing! Totally recommend this hotel

The hotel staff is exceptionally kind and helpful with any questions or advice. The hotel itself is adorable, with comfortable and beautifully designed rooms. Breakfast feels intimate, like being in a friend’s kitchen — eggs cooked right there, freshly squeezed juices, teas, cereals, cakes in jars, phenomenal croissants, and best of all, all leftovers are packed for compost, which they either use themselves or sell. They are wonderful toward Thessaloniki’s street dogs, as well as the homeless — something I saw with my own eyes, not a show put on for me or other hotel guests. A healthy, warm environment. In Thessaloniki, I will forever be their guest.

I can say without exaggeration that this week at The Modernist was one of, if not the best hotel experience I have ever had. I have the incredible hotel staff to thank for this, they helped me so much, gave me hundreds of recommendations for restaurants, cafes, bars and activities which turned out to be unique experiences. They were also always open for a little chat. Don't hesitate and book this hotel. It is very centrally located, you can get anywhere in the city very quickly and don't have to rely on cabs or public transport. The breakfast buffet is huge and there is something for every taste. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are very clean, you feel at home as much as you can away from home. The minibar is also stocked with only local products. The rooms are also very quiet, even though they face the street. All in all, a perfect hotel experience - as a person who travels a lot, I can only recommend it.

The hotel infrastructure was amazing, everything clean, the room was confortable, there was a beautiful terrace, the breakfast was very delicious with good range of options, the warm welcome and availability of the staf was well above average, they helped us with a lot of valuable information about the city, about tours, places to eat, we felt very welcomed, a special mention to the girl who welcomed us when we arrived, she was very kind, unfortunately I don't remember her name, but if you do come to Brazil, feel free to contact us if you need any tips/information.

We have been coming to Thessaloniki and Modernist for years. On our way to the sea, this is our Mandatory stop. Location is perfect, central, facilities amazing. Increeeedible breakfast. But the most important thing is, incredibly kind people working there. One of the best hospitality experiences we ever encountered, and we do travel the world all the time. These people made us feel like we are family, and we are super grateful for that. Not to mention, they even know our dogs name, and treat him like royalty. The Modernist crew, you have our biggest recommendation.

The location could not be any more central. It’s 2 blocks from the waterfront, 2 blocks from a metro stop right in the heart of Thessaloniki. The breakfast included a dazzling array of sweet pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, every type of milk, yogurt, coffee, fresh orange juice, eggs made to order—really a lot, well presented, and wonderful staff to assist. Indeed, the staff at all times greet you enthusiastically, warmly and try to help you with travel solutions, restaurant recommendations. The bed and pillows were comfortable. External noise wasn’t evident; and I rarely heard anyone outside my door, despite being near an elevator. I would definitely recommend it.

The room and bathroom didn’t have enough shelf space. You can shuffle some things around to make space, though. And I did have a balcony :)

The bed was, actually, just a mattress on a short podium. This wouldn’t be a problem by itself, but it’s width equaled more or less the width of the room itself, so there was basically not more than 15-20 cm between the mattress and the wall. Climbing down from “the bed” needed some acrobatics and the risk to hit your face on the wall :)) Also, a stained glass instead of a full bathroom door is all fun and games until you turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night and wake up your partner.

Central location, near Nikis Avenue, White Tower and all the cafes, restaurants, shops. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Breakfast is at the rooftop and they make delicious omelette. If you arrive by car you can just stop in front of the hotel to unload your luggage, nearest parking is a minute away where you can keep your car overnight. Inform them that you are staying at the hotel as they have special rates. We went to Kalamaria area, where we enjoyed fresh sea food many options are there. All the people at the reception are very welcoming and ready to help at any time.
