The staff at the reception were very friendly, helpful and responsible. They accommodated my request for an early check-in and I was able to drop-off my luggage both before check-in and check-out. The room wasn't very new but clean and tidy. Garbage emptied daily. The bed and linen were comfortable, though the pillows could have been softer. The small fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle, A/C, all worked well. Hot water was available. The location was very convenient. Just a few minutes walk to many attractions in the city, supermarkets, railway and restaurants. Overall, it was a nice and peaceful stay and definitely good value for money.

Excellent location, close to all city attractions. Close to bus stops with good connections to train station and other parts of the city and northern beaches. Short walking distance to Cairns Esplanade, Lagoon and harbour. Though on a CBD main street quiet at night and actually I could not hear any traffic during the day either. I also liked that I could open all the three windows, which fresh air circulating through bedroom and bathroom.

The hotel is not that easy to find because it is very badly signed. There is still an old broken sign with a different previous name on top of the building , and no new sign hanging out , only the current name written on the wall, very difficult to see from the car when approaching along the road.

The room was very large and bed extremely comfortable. The shower had strong flow pressure with plenty of hot water. WiFi was strong with electrical sockets next to the bed. The owners were very helpful with late check-in, leaving luggage after check-out, calling a cab for returning to the airport. Everything needed is within easy walking distance from the facility. I stayed a week and could have stayed longer!

Staying here was questionable after reading all the negative reviews, but once again - travelers prove they'll complain about any and everything! 'Motel' in the name should indicate this is an older place and no, it's not chic and trendy but I wish there were more budget-friedly places like this around the world! Any negative experiences depended on neighbors sitting out front of their rooms chatting and smoking at all hours of the day/night. It would be hard to open windows with all the smoke but Cairns was having unusually cold weather and the room was actually cold most nights.

This is exceptional budget accommodation. The room itself is a little dated, but perfectly clean and has everything you need. Hard pressed to find somewhere better for the money, especially right in the middle of town. I enjoyed my stay thoroughly and will be back next time work requires it.

The only thing I will mention is the lack of milk for morning coffee. They supply 4 of those little UHT pods (pretty standard everywhere), however if you are like me and enjoy a milk rich coffee you will need to get a carton. Fortunately everything is within walking distance so this won't be a problem.

It's hard to rate the staff when I never saw them....was always on tours during day so only saw office staff on check in....were always helpful if I needed to phone for any reason.

I found the huge bunch of wiring hanging out of fan a bit of an eyesore....was assured it was safe but surely it can be covered in some way? Also both taps in shower had C (cold) indicated...most Aussies know hot is on left but could be misleading to foreigners as water comes out quite hot as soon as tap turned on. Just change the left one to H....also there seemed to be a lot of very tiny insects on bench and around microwave area....they were not ants so am unsure...maybe leave a can of bug spray in cupboard? Also maybe a roll of paper towel or chux wipes to wipe down bench ? These are not really complaints as such, more just suggestions

- Definitely the most comfortable motel that I have ever stayed! - They not only provide tea/coffee making facilities but also a microwave! - The staff is nice! We dropped our luggage before checkin time. And when we were back from a tour, the staff already put our luggage into our room, which is sweet for sure!

- Nothing! - Just a reminder to other tourists, remember to bring your own shampoo and body wash if you need. Because they provide only soaps.

Close to lagoon,aquarium, piers and restaurants. Easygoing good feel place. No frills but everything you need. Comfortable beds.Staff very helpful. A comfortable, clean, well lit and aired base in the center of Cairns from which to set on on tours.

It was a bit old/ rundown. The pool is a bit of a joke but we never planned to use it since the lagoon is nearby and the place to go. Don't usely stay in less than 4 star hotels and first time in a motel so I was a bit anxious but it turned out OK.

Close to airport, quick one night stop over between flights and very comfortable for the cheap price. Although I am not picky and will sleep in a swag if need be. The staff organised my key as I came in late and everything went according to plan. The Jam Drop Cafe down the road for breakfast was incredible in the morning, too.

My wife wished there was a box of tissues in the room. 🤧

The room was clean and bright. About 2 blocks from shops & restaurants. Quiet if the window is closed. Very good value for money.

There is traffic noise, so you have to keep the only window closed & put on fan & aircon. I asked the receptionist for a taxi - she offered to find the phone number for the taxi company. Gee, thanks. She seemed to have no idea that it is pretty standard for guests to request airport taxis.

The beds were very comfortable and it is the first motel that I have ever been to with comfortable beds .

I have a disability and getting the bags upstairs was difficult and not offered any help , it was noisy throughout the stay, and the shower taps were difficult to get the right temperature and the hot water is extremely hot and almost burnt my child and should be turned down a little . But other than that it was a fine stay
