I have to say, the pillow was great - it offered great support. Usually in hotels pillows are more on the limp side, but not here. Had a really good sleep. The beds and linen were clean and comfortable. The room was also very clean. Because the hotel is situated in an old building in a little square, it's small, BUT the room didn't feel cramped at all. Everything was well lit, the ceilings were high, and the my stay was incredibly comfortable. The location of the hotel is amazing, because you get to be so close to all these amazing restaurants and cafes right downstairs. The staff were helpful and friendly, very efficient. I also liked their decor, very whimsical. Overall exceeded my expectations. Convenient, safe, clean, great location. Would recommend!

Not an issue for me personally, but the hotel is stairs only - doesn't have an elevator. The staff were great when we needed help with our luggage, but you might wanna note this if you're planning on bringing large luggages.

The hotel is central, a few metres from the Cathedral, the river and many bars, shops, restaurants and sights. Everything was very clean, the beds comfortable and the staff friendly. A request for extra pillows was met quickly and efficiently. There was little noise from other rooms or guests. This is a budget hotel but we slept very well. There is some noise from the street as this is a in the centre of the town. The noise after the restaurants close, not late, becomes much less. It was the ideal place, not expensive, for a short visit to this historic town. You will be in the centre of things and apart from delivery vehicles there is only foot or bicycle traffic. The river and the boats that do tourist trips are a minute away. The area is full of bars and restaurants and some excellent shopping. You will be a short walk from everything and 10 minutes on the D tram from the central station.

For the price there was nothing wrong. We enjoyed ourselves and our stay.

Breakfast was OK, given that Strasbourg is an expensive city. Location was excellent -- near the cathedral and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Staff were friendly.

I got sick of climbing three steep flights of steps several times a day, though I understand it would be impossible to install a lift in an old building. My room was small and basic. The ensuite bathroom was tiny.

The location is perfect for accessing the Christmas markets (next to Cathedral, short walk to Gutenberg and Kléber. We parked at Austerlitz parking lot, since Gutenberg lot is inaccessible while the markets are open. Parking cost was 22€ per day, less 4€ discount with hotel validation (must ask at the front desk), a total of 54€ .

Other customers' reviews mentioned cleanliness, yet I found the hotel was exactly as expected given the age of the building (original 18th century, renovated 2019). The main drawback for me was the noise from the street, given the Christmas market crowds. This was the tradeoff we were willing to make for proximity to the Cathedral, so I recommend bringing earplugs for sleeping.

Great location in city center and about a 10 minute walk from the bus station. Many food options nearby.

Some touch up room painting and sweeping of ceiling cobwebs would be easy touches to make the entire room seem cleaner. Storing luggage after checkout is great, but a locked room would be better rather than just leaving things in the reception area.

I am glad I stayed here. It is one of the more affordable and modest accommodations, but it is in a beautiful part (probably THE most beautiful part) of the historic core. You will hear the bells of Strasbourg cathedral from your room, and some rooms have a small view of the cathedral. Everyone on the staff, from the receptionists, to the housekeeping, to the manager, were very kind, charming, and efficient. The beauty of the immediate area, the hominess of the hotel, and the warm-heartedness of the staff made this place a keep for my next visit to Strasbourg. Thank you to everyone at Hotel des Arts.

I love when there is no elevator because I love exercising, but some people may require an elevator. Be prepared for a little bit of low-grade to mid-grade noise in this entirely pedestrian area from people enjoying the cafes, canal-front, etc, (To me it added to the heartwarming vibe since I was on vacation, so it was not a problem.)

The double bed was a bit on the small side but otherwise comfortable, the toilet was crammed into the corner, so that it felt like being hugged by the surrounding walls (apparently that's the case in just some of the rooms, but it wasn't clear before booking that that could be the case).

location excellent in centre of old town Strasbourg, 200m from the cathedral, 50m from tram, lots of eating options surrounding.

Being an old hotel, there’s no lift and quite steep stairs, but if you can deal with that, the location more than compensates.

The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were very nice, situated in a very central building. The building was old, bringing about an antique vibe. We liked this hotel the most because of its excellent location as every place was within a walking distance.

The bathrooms are slightly small/compact, but that's not a major problem.

Location. Literally in the center of the town. That also means you will have to deal with street noise but they have double glazed windows and air conditioning.

I guess rooms were being revamped. Or maybe ours. Carpet could be… I don’t know. Cupboard a bit flimsy but… cheap soap dispensers in the bathroom and the one in our shower was empty. Did not like the fact that air conditioning is monitored and cuts pretty early in the night. Room then becomes hot and you wake up.
