Wonderful location and amazing ocean view. Our apartment was a great size for a family of 4, clean and the facilities were great. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The managers of the property were so friendly and very helpful if you have any issues are would like some local recommendations. There was a last minute issue with our booking that they went above and beyond to resolve for us!

The apartments are individually owned so are personally styled and furnished. There was a few too many trinkets around the apartment and we did have to move some to find places to put our things. There wasn't a space in the kitchen to put our food items.

Loved the location, the view is spectacular and being able to see the whales splashing from the accommodation was amazing. So many whales! We loved every second of our stay here. Lisa and Matt were friendly and helpful. Lisa even drove us down to the shop and back to get some groceries. Above and beyond, thank you!

Dinner options are limited as far as dining out. The surf club was good, free pool table, stunning view but had a very limited menu. The fish and chip shop closed at 4pm.

Regular visitor to Straddie, first time to stay at Samarinda. Unit 2, ground floor, garden balcony with sea view and back gate excess to beach. Perfect location. The fully self contained unit was perfect size for mum and I. Walking distance to coffee, croissants and ice creams 😍 and headland walk. Highly recommend to Straddie visitors. 💯 Will definitely stay there again. Thank you Angela, Barry and the team for your awesome hospitality. Location - Walking distance to all shops, beaches and walking tracks. Wildlife both land and sea were quite prolific. Whales, dolphins, turtles and dugong were spotted along with the usual roos, waterbirds lizards etc. The quality of the premises is similar to time share resorts I have frequented.

Sliding doors require maintenance. Shower in Bath in the main bathroom risky to use for seniors as there were no safety handles. For the sake of safety the second walk in shower was used. I had a ground floor (which is good due to mobility issues) but unfortunately we had a large family above us and the footfalls/scrapping chairs etc was quite loud.

The hosts were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a more than comfortable stay. The decor was so beachy and relaxing that we instantly went into holiday mode. The comfiest beds too and also a fantastic location to access the beautiful beaches and whale sightings.

There’s nothing they could have improved on it was perfect.

Checking in was easy and reception staff were helpful and friendly. The apartment was roomy for the 3 of us, kitchen size was good and the balcony was lovely. Having a view of the ocean was unexpected but very welcome. Kitchen plates/pots etc were good, including having sharp knives (!) and the notes about rubbish disposal were helpful.

Floors needed a sweep (sandy) and there was a half-eaten biscuit in one of the bedroom drawers which made us wonder about thoroughness of the cleaning. Some basic kitchen supplies were a bit light on eg. only 1 dishwashing tablet and 1 garbage bag provided (for 3 people over 3 days); no paper towels and only 1 tea towel which we had used as a hand towel given its texture. (We asked for and got an extra one).

Great location, beautiful views, comfortable beds, great air con. Great value for money. Perfect for what we needed for our weekend. Check in was very easy and just a great stay overall!

Not that we didn't like this, but there was no cloth for washing up. It wasn't enough of an issue to raise with staff as we just used the dishwasher instead. We also couldn't locate the non recycling bins on check out to take rubbish to. Car parks were very tight but understandable given most people bring Ute's or bigger cars over and the accommodation was probably built a little while ago.

The building has one of the best locations for view, beach access and general relaxation on North Stradbroke Island. I could not receommend it any higher. The staff/managers where friendly, enagaging, informative and wonderful people. They made the getting in enjoyable and pleasent. No hassles or issues. Brilliant people, brilliant building, and a location to die for.

This was our first time visiting Stradbroke Island, we had a fabulous time. Our hosts Lisa and Matt were so welcoming so friendly we are definitely going go back for our next family holiday and will stay Samarinda Jewel by the Sea - we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else and we’ll be recommending there place to any of our friends and family. Our apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed.

The unit was spotless, beautifully decorated but still functional with everything we needed. We had stayed in the complex before and it is our favourite location: close to shops, the beach and the gorge walk. We had a picture postcard view of the beach from the balcony. Perfect weekend!
