Arrived at the Citrus to find a rather austere looking building which you don't expect in Cheltenham ( I happen to like brutalist architecture!). As I checked in I was informed that parking was available, this was great as the hotel is very central. We arrived but were allowed to check in as the room was ready. Inside the hoteli it was bright and cheery with funky decor. The room was very spacious and clean with a huge bathroom with a wet room. Continental breakfast was served in the bright restaurant. There was a helpful lady in attendance. We enjoyed staying here and would stay again.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea but may suit people who want a no frills convenient central break in a cheery environment.

The breakfast was really good. It was continental but ample food was available and it was always stocked up as we were going through. A good selection too! Rooms were clean and tidy, I had a disabled room as I was staying with my elderly Nanna and she cant get into a shower cubicle and this was a walk in wet room so was perfect for her needs. Was a lift in the hotel and even one into the hotel entrance as there is stairs to go up so would be perfect for wheel chair access. The car park was limited spacing but we were able to pre-book a disabled space on request which was very kind of the staff. Its also basically right on the main high street so it took me about 3 mins to walk into town which was nice when I needed some things I forgot for a wedding I was attending!

There was only one pillow and it was a little thin so I would have liked an additional pillow but I just folded mine in half so it was not too much of an issue.

Staff very helpful, professional and friendly, everything was clean, well maintained, my wife and I only needed a bed for the night as we were going to be getting back late and leaving early, but I would definitely stay again and definitely recommend, as already mentioned the three members of staff that we interacted with were all exceptional, one being one of the housekeepers, the first man when we arrived and the second when we got back late, a good experience for us, thanks to the team, all three of them were approachable and couldn't do enough to help

For such a short stay there isn't anything negative to add, I had read reviews of the building looking tired or whatever, however it's more than adequate, especially considering the price, certainly internally it was clean and tidy, as was our room, nothing negative to add,

First Impressions of this hotel wasn't great pulled up in the car to be met with a characterless building. Popped inside to be met with a friendly smiling receptionist who informed me I could park in the undercroft car park , great as this is very central. Was told my room number and approached down a boring corridor so my expectations weren't high. When I entered the room WOW! I had an executive suite and it delivered everything I needed . Think Miami1980. Huge room with big bath and shower. Nice tea coffee area. Big comfy bed and a sitting room. I had a inexpensive continental breakfast in the morning and th receptionist from the night before was there again helping everyone out . Nothing to much trouble for her. I really enjoyed staying here.

This hotel won't suit everyone. If you're looking for old fashioned Cheltenham character check in somewhere else but I thought this hotel was quirky but fab.

Everyone was really friendly and helpful, the bed was really comfy and the facilities we had all worked great. TV was good, loved that there was Yorkshire Tea bags that was a great touch for us northern guests! Amazing value for money and definitely would stay again!

Cleanliness could be improved, bathroom was quite dirty around the back of the taps and in the grooves and corners, cigarette butts in the window grooves. An option for an extra pillow would be nice, and I couldn't connect to the WiFi.

The check in was quick and easy. The lift was useful and the room were spacious and tastefully decorated with good amenities. Interactions with staff were pleasant, I was informed about breakfast options and left luggage. When I had an issue with the lock on my door the night manager was quick to respond and even faster at solving the problem!

The shower did not drain very quickly and there were chips in the sink. For a lesser price I wouldn't have questioned anything, but the £54 price tag feels as though they're taking advantage of their excellent location.

Arrived at the hotel at 12.30pm asked at reception would it be possible to park my car at the hotel car park has I wasn't supposed to check in til 3pm and would have to pay for extra parking outside of the hotel premises With them telling me that it was fine and that my room was ready anyway and that we could check in 2 hours earlier... brilliant

Tried phoning the hotel a number of times the morning before arriving to discuss parking but with no answer and it just kept ringing.... was annoying

The hotel was good for a reasonable price. There is a small breakfast room for a continental breakfast (croissants, toast, juice, yoghurts etc) and a small bar in the small lounge area where you can purchase drinks. We were able to take our dog which is a bonus and there is covered parking (£10 a day) in a central part of Cheltenham. There is also tea and coffee making trays in the room which is always well received plus good TV.

Our two rooms could benefit by a small refurbish as areas round the shower etc were cracked and tatty - but then the price of staying is very good. The real complaint was that on entering one of our rooms there was toilet paper down the loo and 'skid marks' - nothing that four flushes wouldn't sort but nevertheless not brill for a first impression.

Budget hotel in the centre of Cheltenham. No frills, just basic but all reflected in the price. Very convenient for amenities and town centre. Was clean, comfortable, and staff very helpful. Would definatly stay again.

My only 'con' if I have to find one is the £10 parking nightly but the carpark is gated underneath the hotel so very secure.

Lovely spacious room and excellent location for the high street.

The car park was so cramped. Car was line to line and pillared blocked every space. We did get blocked in but managed to climb through the back of the car. Just make sure you only bring a fiat 500 ! This is not the hotels fault it’s just the design of an underground car park and new cars getting bigger !
