We liked that it was so close to the beach and the hotel pool was lovely. The beds were also comfortable. & the breakfast room staff were very friendly.

No evening meal available in the hotel, although it states that it does on their website. Every night we had to walk to elsewhere for dinner. After a long day, (and it got quite cold out in the evening) with a young child, that was not always nice. The alternative was to pay extra for delivery costs and order takeaway. Was told they do evening meals when there’s coach trips but the hotel was full, so I didn’t understand why they couldn’t offer something.

The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and went beyond expectations to make my stay welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast menu is has a variety of food and drink options to suit most dietary requirements and I really enjoyed everything I was served. The swimming pool was clean, heated and the shower there was superb. The location was a short walk to Shanklin Beach and depending on your room you will get a good sea view. Transport links are great with a direct £5.90 train from Ryde Ferry Port to Shanklin station which is a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Bus links are an easy way to explore the whole Island and stop at the majority of the tourist attractions. The buses have a 24 hour unlimited travel ticket that costs just over £10.

The hotel was clean and well presented with a great swimming pool, spa facilities, bar, restaurant and public areas. The room was clean and had everything needed, the shower was warm, bed comfy and the tv fine. There were also tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer and a desk fan in the cupboard if the room was hot. Breakfast was served between 8 and 10am and I was impressed. There were fruit, cereal, bread, toast, jams, marmalades, yoghurts and fruit salad to help yourself too as well as tea and coffee, apple & orange juice. Also you had a menu on your table offering either a cooked breakfast, continental breakfast, vegetarian or a large breakfast at £5 additional charge. The breakfast was very nice and included in the room cost which was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend Channel View hotel to all.

Only negative and it isn’t a big deal was that parking was limited, although we were able to park in the rear car park.

We booked a room at this hotel and had a small issue when we arrived but the way it was handled completely exceeded our expectations. The receptionist went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us, and we genuinely felt so well looked after. Our room was stunning, beautifully comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The service overall was excellent, and we felt truly welcome from start to finish. The pool is lovely, the view is absolutely spectacular, and the breakfast was gorgeous. This is the kind of place that turns a trip into a real memory, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.

The welcome from staff was excellent, and the interaction with all staff was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff friendly, helpful and professional. All rooms very clean and comfortable. Bedding and bathroom accessories presented nicely. Restaurant staff very polite, professional and couldn’t do more. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of milk etc in room.

Access was a little difficult for our friend, who has mobility problems, but the reception staff were quick to point out the pathway that made access a lot easier. Staff very keen to help and offer to carry case for friend. Excellent service. Thanks.

This hotel boasts a fantastic location for non-drivers, with the island coaster bus station directly across the street, the train station a short ten-minute walk away, and the beach merely two minutes away. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was delightful, and the indoor pool and sauna were lovely. This hotel offers excellent value for the price.

The mattress is rather low and not very comfortable for the back, and the bed does squeak a little. The pillows are also somewhat thin. The sink tap and showerhead could benefit from descaling. The indoor pool and sauna were delightful; however, their 8:00 PM closing time is a bit early. The sauna's wooden flooring requires attention, as some protruding nails present a potential safety hazard.

The hotel is lovely. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The facilities were great. We enjoyed a family swim before breakfast. It was warm, clean and we had the pool to ourselves. The breakfast was superb and the head waiter, Andy was a fab host. The location is great, easy walk down to the sea and coastal restaurants, shops and entertainment. It is also lovely being able to hear the relaxing waves from the room.

The carpet in the room could do with an upgrade although we can see the lovely touches that the staff do from the cleaning to the decor. The hotel been modernised already.

Nice big comfortable room. TV, Hairdryer, Tea/Coffee facilities. Very large shower room. Good size shower cubicle. A working lift, with a slope for disabled access to property. We loved the indoor pool and sauna. Lovely helpful staff. If the bar isn't open, the reception staff, will go to the bar and serve you.

Nothing to complain about regarding the hotel. But the hotel is on a very steep hill. it is close to the seafront, but the walk up and down the hill is difficult with mobility problems. The railway station is about a fifteen minute walk.

Very attentive, happy and friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Great dining experience loved the white linen tablecloths. Extremely comfy bed. The swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi was an added bonus..

There could be more information about the hotel in the rooms ie breakfast menu and times. Facilities ie bar opening times and drink prices. Pool and sauna information. In house entertainment . Evening meal times and prices. Basically an information pack with local information and all hotel facilities and menus where possible.

Very pleased with our stay here on our round the IoW cycle trip. Kim let us in an hour and a half before due check in time and kindly let us store all 4 bikes in the unused dining area. Rooms were huge, beds were comfortable quiet clean with a well stocked tea and coffee tray. Plenty of plugs for charging and a great location on the sea front. Superb breakfast and overall good value

Not much that we did not like. Adjusting the shower to get hot water just right was a challenge at times but not a showstopper and a fixed shower screen would be good.
