We had a very comfortable good sized room with pleasant views , not sure that all rooms were as good though. Beds were very comfortable and rooms clean. Tea & coffee making facilities in room . Room a nice comfortable temperature in early October and had great weather . The indoor pool was a little cool but pleasant , the sauna was hot . We had it to ourselves too . Plentiful breakfast, sausage for the dog . Dogs are welcome:) Enjoyed sitting outside in the sun in the morning through to sundown. Short walk downhill to beach and some good places for a coffee, drink or meal. Hideaway along coastal path . Good location on the coastal path and for visiting the attractions on the Island.

Lounge areas & decor could do with smartening up and hotel needs comfortable sofas , chairs provided and just two old tired wingback chairs in bar & entertainment lounge weren’t our idea of a comfortable place to listen to the average singers . Rather a lot of older folks there on coach holidays. They seemed happy.

On request we were offered a much better room on the ground floor. It was larger and better decorated with a double bed. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was a particular feature of the hotel. Andy who waited on guests at breakfast was particularly obliging. The food was cooked well and tasty. The hotel has some good facilities and I enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool.

As already noted we requested another room as the first one on the third floor could not be accessed by lift. It was really too small and there was no cold running water.

We liked that it was so close to the beach and the hotel pool was lovely. The beds were also comfortable. & the breakfast room staff were very friendly.

No evening meal available in the hotel, although it states that it does on their website. Every night we had to walk to elsewhere for dinner. After a long day, (and it got quite cold out in the evening) with a young child, that was not always nice. The alternative was to pay extra for delivery costs and order takeaway. Was told they do evening meals when there’s coach trips but the hotel was full, so I didn’t understand why they couldn’t offer something.

Loved the swimming pool and the fact it opened at 8am to have a swim before breakfast. Breakfast was from 8am till 10am so sensible times. Lots of cereals to choose from, lovely yoghurt decent bread for toast and a nice cooked breakfast. Waiting staff were charming, nothing to much trouble. We booked 3 rooms for family weekend, our room was upgraded from a twin to a quadruple with lovely sea view. Loved the outside balcony by the breakfast room and downstairs. Looking over the sea with cushioned seats. Overall our stay was excellent and we had a lovely family get together.

Quite a lot of stairs to our room, but there was a lift for some rooms, so if you struggle it would be best to book one of those rooms.

Property is clean, my room is standard sea view and quite spacious. We had lot of space in the room for toddler to roam around. Two large windows with sea view is a bonus. Breakfast was included and food/ service is very professional and exceeds my expectations. Swimming pool is super Clean and tidy. Sauna and toilets are very clean too. Staff are very friendly and helpful, they even provided a baby cot and fixed it in our room. Beach is less than 5 mins walk down the hill. We also took a stroll to the high street and found some good restaurants for the late night dinner. We enjoyed the stay overall and I highly recommends this hotel to all.

It’s not mandatory, but upgrading to USB sockets will be beneficial for the travellers. Just a suggestion.

The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and went beyond expectations to make my stay welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast menu is has a variety of food and drink options to suit most dietary requirements and I really enjoyed everything I was served. The swimming pool was clean, heated and the shower there was superb. The location was a short walk to Shanklin Beach and depending on your room you will get a good sea view. Transport links are great with a direct £5.90 train from Ryde Ferry Port to Shanklin station which is a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Bus links are an easy way to explore the whole Island and stop at the majority of the tourist attractions. The buses have a 24 hour unlimited travel ticket that costs just over £10.

The hotel was clean and well presented with a great swimming pool, spa facilities, bar, restaurant and public areas. The room was clean and had everything needed, the shower was warm, bed comfy and the tv fine. There were also tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer and a desk fan in the cupboard if the room was hot. Breakfast was served between 8 and 10am and I was impressed. There were fruit, cereal, bread, toast, jams, marmalades, yoghurts and fruit salad to help yourself too as well as tea and coffee, apple & orange juice. Also you had a menu on your table offering either a cooked breakfast, continental breakfast, vegetarian or a large breakfast at £5 additional charge. The breakfast was very nice and included in the room cost which was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend Channel View hotel to all.

Only negative and it isn’t a big deal was that parking was limited, although we were able to park in the rear car park.

We booked a room at this hotel and had a small issue when we arrived but the way it was handled completely exceeded our expectations. The receptionist went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us, and we genuinely felt so well looked after. Our room was stunning, beautifully comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The service overall was excellent, and we felt truly welcome from start to finish. The pool is lovely, the view is absolutely spectacular, and the breakfast was gorgeous. This is the kind of place that turns a trip into a real memory, and we can’t recommend it highly enough.

The welcome from staff was excellent, and the interaction with all staff was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff friendly, helpful and professional. All rooms very clean and comfortable. Bedding and bathroom accessories presented nicely. Restaurant staff very polite, professional and couldn’t do more. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of milk etc in room.

Access was a little difficult for our friend, who has mobility problems, but the reception staff were quick to point out the pathway that made access a lot easier. Staff very keen to help and offer to carry case for friend. Excellent service. Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay here. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and always happy to help. The location was perfect, just a short (if hilly) walk to the beach, and the view of the sunrise from the patio was absolutely breathtaking. There are plenty of stairs, which gave us a bit of a workout, though it was good to know there were step free access options available too. Parking could be a little tricky when the coaches were back, but overall it wasn’t too much of an issue. All in all, a very pleasant and relaxing stay, we’d happily return!
