Decent property in the heart of downtown St. Louis. There's no dedicated lot, so if you're arriving by car it's either paid street parking or a private lot across from the hotel ($30 for 24 hrs, no in and out). Had to leave a lot of my stuff in the car overnight, so I opted for the brightly-lit lot - the front desk staff mentioned that it was "mostly" safe on the street, but I passed through some sketchy neighborhoods nearby on the drive in. The hotel itself is a renovated old building with an industrial feel. I would say it's ideal for solo travelers or couples on a city break, not so much kids. Room and bed were comfy, but the overall experience was definitely more on the urban adventure side.

Big room, good location, friendly staff, great rooftop pool.

The hotel ist undergoing a change in management and the bar and restaurant were closed. On the first day we didn't even have our own room keys and had to be accompanied to enter the room. The friendly staff was doing their best to make up for it but I booked because of the facilities. That we have not been informed before and nothing was offered to us was very unsatisfying.

Loved the building remodel and the story behind the hotel. Rooms and bathrooms were large and comfortable. Quiet. Friendly staff.

They seem to be plagued with supply shortages. Cleaning staff told me they were out of hand soap, and there were no coffee creamer or sugar in the room, only lots of decaf coffee. The restaurant was also short staffed, but food was excellent. I needed a valet after 11 pm, but I guess a staff issues caused them to limit valet hours. I used an adjacent open lot to park overnight; they had video security cameras and my car was fine.

There was supposed to be a bar open at the hotel, but it was closed but on the website it still says it’s open. They need to change that.

Interesting conversion from old shoe factory.

Bit noisy but acceptable as in busy location. TV channels not available- had to use our streaming service.

Rooms are attractive and comfortable redo of former shoe factory. High ceilings, big windows and spacious room felt airy but homey. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom space and quiet. Staff were helpful and shared history of the building and good restaurant recommendations. I really liked this place.

Due to a transition the bar and restaurant were closed although they did have a coffee barista available in the morning. The rooftop pool looked amazing and I wanted to use it - but it was too cold and too late to try it for me. Would love to come back and make use of it!

check in staff were very accommodating and friendly. Cute king sized room with huge shower.

The guy who brought us our car the next morning was quite rude. I quietly and patiently waiting for my car to be brought around from their parking garage and when I walked up to him to get the keys he looked and me and said “what do you want.”… very rudely. I also carried my bags by myself to the car as he grabbed one pair of shoes to carry and when I said thank you he just looked at me. No thank you for staying, have a nice day, nothing.

Staff, atmosphere, location for downtown activities, cleanliness, and cost

Verified heated rooftop pool was open and operational upon checking in (& called the day before) however the pool was indeed closed due to a sign that mentioned weather concerns/safety. Clear skies and not a scary cloud in the sky - seemed like insufficient staff coverage to us and it was very disappointing as it was the main feature I was excited to surprise my husband with. Even the front desk clerk had no clue it was closed or why - even told us to go up and enjoy at check in. Definitely a bummer and a let down.

The style of the hotel is great--lovely art deco and lots of history. The rooms were a decent size and had a nice vibe. The roof top pool has an amazing view and there are lots of restaurants and attractions nearby that make this an easy base from which to explore the city.

The hotel seemed understaffed at times but the staff who were present were very helpful and attentive. When we first arrived, the lobby was completely empty and we wandered in a circle trying to find someone to check us in. The sole desk agent was also the valet and had gone to park a car. There was no restaurant. It appeared to have closed permanently which was a bit disappointing and did not seem to be reflected on the website which made it sound like it was functioning. The street out front of the hotel was very noisy at night which was not the hotel's fault but something to be aware of. Cars drag race up and down that road. There were ear plugs left on the desk when we got to the room and I quickly realized the reason why.

Deedee and Ashley at the front desk were both very friendly and helpful during my stay at The Last Hotel. Ashley went above and beyond for me to help with a situation that was not connected with my stay with them. I am very grateful. The room and ensuite bathroom were very big and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the room decor and the coffee from the coffee machine in the room. It was great to stay in a historial building where they have kept the original flooring and ceilings to retain the history of the place. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Convention Centre and 10-15 minutes from the Metrolink station. Plenty of food options around the area to choose from. The hotel is on a main road that is well lit, and I had no issues walking around the area. General precautions still advised as it is in downtown St Louis.
