I was initially worried about this location due to the reviews on Google, but I was pleasantly surprised they were pretty far off the mark. The front desk staff was attentive and kind - I love that they shoot you a text after check in that you can communicate with them directly instead of via the room phone (replies aren't terribly fast, but it's nice if you have a quick, non-urgent question). It felt way more personal and accessible. The room was large, clean and kept at a pleasant temperature. The views of the neighboring cathedral were beautiful. I loved that there were both black-out and sheer window coverings so we could sleep in on bright mornings, or allow sun in and still keep our privacy. The continental breakfast was solid - eggs, potatoes and meat every day, waffles, dry goods, fruit and yogurt. The lobby was really large and cool with tons of seating and outlets, and a pool table and televisions - plenty of places to hang out without having to leave the space. All very clean and accessible.

There is no parking on site unless you do valet, which is a little expensive for my pockets ($45 per night). We found a parking garage a block over for appx $20 per 24 hours, so that suited our needs just fine. Although the hotel is close to The City Museum, City Hall and the Public Library, it isn't close to much else in terms of walking distance to any tourist hot spots - it might have been fine any other time of year, but end of July is definitely not the time to be walking about a mile before arriving to your destination. The heat will get ya! If you're a Starbies girl, the closest one is about a mile away - but there's coffee in the lobby?

Should have a higher rating!!! Weve stayed at a good amount of hotels and the tru was just like the other hilton properties. GREAT customer service! Staff was kind and attentive, even with the hotel being no vacany. Parking- this is a city so parking is tricky. The hotel offers valet ($55/night) but theres various lots close by ($45/night). Elevators- Hotel building is old so the elevators are (its st louis not the bahamas). Breakfast- plentiful and clean (staff was running around to ensure enough food the last hour). Clean- hotel was spotless and room too Would 100% stay here again as a couple and family. Overall and location!

Could use more storage space . We didnt mind for a short trip , however could see it being annoying for longer statys/ bigger parties.

It was on a street corner that was under construction and difficult to maneuver. Also. Booking.com claims to have free parking. Not true at all. $55 for valor parking or feed a street meter every 2 hours. Wish I had more information about both those things. I even called an hour before I arrived to check in and get parking information. Got informed that parking is not free. And we were stuck by then. Had to pay the money to park. Ugh

The hotel was absolutely stunning & full of character! My room was very spacious with a great city view! I love that it's within walking distance of several downtown eateries and shops.

I wish there were better parking options other than street parking or valet parking. The elevators are older and can take a while to receive an elevator due to the hotel having 13 floors. I also didn't like the difficulty getting to the hotel due to streets being closed off due to construction and there was no communication about the road closures or instructions on how to best access the hotel in lieu of the road closures prior to arrival.

- The staff was simply outstanding - super friendly, giving good advice on restaurants, fixing problems with the cell phone. - Spacious and stylish room. - Central location with good restaurants within walking distance. - Nice gym. - Guest laundry

- Rather weak water pressure (room on the 10th floor). - Breakfast was okay, but not restocked - e.g. coffee cups, bagels, etc., long before the end of breakfast hours.

Perfect Location as we were there for a Blues game. You can tell they are really working on the area as I know it was not the best neighborhood before. There are tons of things to do within walking distance. Staff was super friendly and it was very clean, it looked like nobody had ever even stayed in the room we were in prior to us. Immaculate.

The breakfast was pretty bland and juice was all out. Good options though. The elevators were kinda scary (original to the building so 100 years old) and one broke while we were there with guest stuck inside (everyone was safe and got out fine)

Breakfast was just fantastic! The customer help in that area was amazing. Everything was clean, well stocked and if you had a problem, they would assist you! Alot of good food! Our room was great! Bed and pillows were so comfortable! It was very nice and clean! Maid service was every other day, but very efficient! Del, the front desk manager was amazing! He was so nice and helped you with anything that you needed! He needs to be commended for his services!

There really was not anything I can say that I did not like

My stay at Tru by Hilton was fantastic! The facilities were top-notch, providing everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The clean and spacious feel of the room made me feel instantly at home. What truly stood out, though, was the incredibly friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable experience. I highly recommend Tru by Hilton to anyone looking for a delightful stay.

The breakfast didn't quite meet my personal preferences. However, I acknowledge that this is likely due to my own tastes.

I was particularly impressed by the exceptional service provided by the front desk person who checked me in. Her affable demeanor and informative approach created a welcoming atmosphere, making my overall experience truly enjoyable.

One aspect that posed a challenge during my stay was the ongoing street construction near the hotel, leading to confusion for my rideshare requests. Navigating through the construction zones proved to be inconvenient and affected the seamless transportation experience I had anticipated.
