Wow, what a surprise this was. We expected a decent little B&B, but this surpassed expectations. Sile (Sheila) is such a kindhearted, gentle and caring host, we are so happy to have met her. She is the type of elegant lady who helps in every way possible, but never intrudes upon the personal space of guests. The room was comfortable, the house is in a lovely rural setting with sheep in the back yard. Sile provided amazing breakfast that had a wide variety from continental to full Irish accompanied by sweet stuff and fresh fruit.
This is not a negative thing (as all was great!), but you have to calculate with it: it is an accommodation best suited for road trips by car.

Shiela is an amazing host. She made us feel welcome and comfortable. She gave us excellent advice on where to go to explore Donegal after getting to know what we were interested in. She is one of the nicest people you could meet while traveling. The lodgings are very clean and the breakfasts healthy and tasty. The location is convenient for day trips north and west along the coast.
Really nothing. The road noise didn't bother us. We wear ear plugs anyway, but just request a room away from the street and you are set.

The host was lovely.. really friendly and accommodating and made the stay more enjoyable. The location of the property is just a short drive from the centre of Donegal and on a main road to other towns and villages. The room was very spacious and clean and the breakfast was excellent 👌 Highly recommend staying here if visiting Donegal with your own transport.
My only slight issue would be the size of the bathroom.. it was pretty small and not very comfortable washing at the sink.. a reconfiguration by taking some of the bedroom floor space is recommended.

This B&B truly stands out. Síle, the owner, is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always available to help. It’s been a long time since I’ve come across such a well-run place – and I’ve been traveling around Ireland staying in B&Bs for over 30 years! The management is outstanding, the breakfast absolutely exceptional with great variety and attention to detail, and everything is spotlessly clean. The house itself is beautiful, very comfortable, and in an ideal location for exploring the area. A truly memorable stay – highly recommended!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Sheila is such a nice person she couldn't do enough for me. The breakfast was amazing. A wide variety of options were offered. There was fresh fruit and yoghurt along with toast and pancakes. I opted for the fry/ grill, which was perfect. She also accommodated me by making a pot of decaf tea. The bedroom and ensuite were spotless with a kettle, tea bags, coffee, milk, sugar and some biscuits there. The beds were very comfy and the house was very quiet so it was easy to get a good sleep. I can't recommend this B&B enough!

Breakfast was amazing, with several different choices and combinations of foods, allowing a nice amount of individual tailoring. I recommend the Hawaiian Toast! There was also a generous selection of cereals, delicious brown bread, also white bread and flapjacks. The breakfast room had plenty of seating in various capacities, and the large window overlooked a charming garden which added to the tranquility. The cleanliness was outstanding.
Everything was just to our liking. We even had a fan in our room (not an absolute requirement but certainly a desirable luxury!) The rooms in the house were very well insulated against any outside noises.

Everything was sparkling clean and the rooms were exceptionally quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was delicious and very generous with pots of hot coffee. The owner Sile Callaghan was friendly, welcoming and clearly enjoys meeting her guests.
The B&B is on the road and not what I would consider “walkable”. However, my group did indeed walk to Biddy's O'Barnes, a real Irish pub not too far along the same road as The Gap B&B. Our dinner was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent.

Stayed at this beautiful and super comfy B&B. Sheila, the host, was so friendly and really went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The place was spotless, with cozy, homely decor that made it feel really welcoming. Breakfast was great too! The location is perfect – just a short drive to the city center. Honestly felt more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel. Would definitely stay again!
Nothing.

We were met with a warm welcome by Sile at The Gap Lodge B&B. This B&B strikes a nice balance between being absolutely spotless while also feeling very homely. Regardless of being located on a busy road, with the windows closed you hear nothing. It is obvious that Sile is well experienced in hospitality and she takes pride in what she does. She also makes time for her guests and is the perfect host.

The owner was very welcoming, the room was nice and the breakfasts very good and filling. The location was ideal. I got from there to the Slieve League cliffs early enough for there only to be a handful of people there. A simple roundabout exit meant I could bypass Donegal town if necessary and could get a quick exit towards Derry. But it’s also just 10km from Donegal town. It’s a nice area. I got to see more of Donegal than I expected
No issues.
