The facility was well kept, common areas were clean and in good condition.

The location of my room was absolutely horrible. I had no view, and the reason I spent so much money to stay at the lodge was the view. I would have appreciated and expected better rest and accomodations. How cheap and stupid can management be to remove basic water for the guests.. Not to mention no room service the entire week. I cleaned the room , bathroom and took out my own trash. Not to mention I had other guests take up residence right outside my room, I had to keep the curtains CLOSED the entire time.If you are going to stay here please demand a room that is not in the main parking lot, they are noisy, public and have no room service.

Room size was great for a family of 5, very friendly and helpful staff, very nice restaurant conveniently located on main floor, pool play area is very large and was great for the kids, location was ideal for our travel plans to ski at Terry Peak 15 minute drive away, but could also find a very large Walmart for needs also within 15 minutes. Nice onsite casino, but I didn't take advantage of because of plans with family.

The pool area is very large and great for kids, but unfortunately there were cleanliness issues. We stayed for 4 days and over the 4-day period there were bloody band aids floating around in the pool the entire 4 days. We splashed one out on the side of the pool on our first night and it stayed there for the entire time we were there - no one cleaned it up, or got the other ones floating around in the pool. There were flies in the pool area which is surprising at this time of year, and one day my son went to grab his shoes after swimming and they were covered by little gnats, likely because of messy people leaving food on tables/floors that isn't cleaned up promptly enough. Hot tub always had debris/bugs floating in it. Only reason we didn't give it 10/10.

Outside patio with gas fireplace.. our group loved it back there! Restaurant good food good price friendly staff! Safe parking for motorcycles! The location was great with a mountaintop view from our balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We traveled with our small dog and even though we couldn't bring him into the casino or restaurant, we could take the food to our room or eat outside. The food was delicious. We arrived to see a group of pronghorn roaming around the entrance among people waiting to take the trolley into the town of Deadwood. Having stayed at some less than satisfactory pet friendly hotels, the lodge was very clean and didn't charge an arm and a leg for having our pet. The location was fun to get to - winding mountain road. We loved the place

We’ve stayed here twice and loved it both times. Staff was super friendly. Restaurant and Casino were right there for those who want to stay on site. Trolley is available for those who want to go into the city of Deadwood for “whiskey tastings” or just to spend time in the area without worrying about parking. Brought our small dog with us and didn’t feel out of place. Our room was immaculate, no smells whatsoever, (some hotels we’ve stayed in have had funky animal urine smells.) Beds were plush and comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean, wife and daughter were not afraid to take a bath. Hot water didn’t run out. Mini fridge and coffee/tea maker was available. Vending machines and ice next to the elevator. Our room had a great view of the mountainside. Outside had fire pit and relaxing chairs and seating. Have dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, you won’t regret it.

Our room was ver spacious and met our needs. Kudos to cleaning staff for providing a clean and comfortable stay. Waitresses were friendly and were always checking to see if we needed anything while on the floor.

The only complaint we have is the hot tub. It doesn't seem to stay hot and the bubble jets don't seem to work. This has been the case during our last few stays. This would be a nice ammenity for those looking to relax and unwind, when it's working correctly.

It was a really nice room. The restaurant downstairs was good. It was nice to have a place to eat there where we were staying. It was just outside of town so it wasn't loud or busy outside at night. It was still close to town just a few miles out. The pool was amazing for our 6 kids. They loved it. No complaints from us. Everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful.

The big horn sheep didn't come by the few days we were there but not the hotels fault. They hadn't even been downtown like they usually were.

The staff and hotel were great. We could not have asked for a better experience. We arrived for our honeymoon to a room upgrade. There were not many people when we stayed so we didn't have to wait for anything. The restaurant was great. Food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff was wonderful. We will definitely return. We made day trips to Mt Rushmore, Custer, Badlands, and Devils Tower.

Location was great! We had excursions away daily and also liked Friendship Tower trail close to Lodge. Kids liked the pool but didn’t know until last day how to get the water features working. Maid service super accommodating to switching out towels and getting us large garbage sack since we didn’t use their service all week. I liked the fact the sink and counter were separated from bath and toilet room!

M&M remnants left by the refrigerator. No hot water showers on Last day of stay with no notification! The restaurant always had a wait and a few times hostess at front was unfriendly(female July 4th). Would love the option to order ahead for takeout since it was hard to get in.

I was very impressed with this hotel. The beds were comfortable, our housekeeper had outdone any hotel I had been in. Its not often that when they clean in the middle of your stay that your sheets are new every day, toiletries were restocked, towels were replaced and freshened up, even our sons portable highchair was wiped down and cleaned. Was beyond impressed with housekeeping here. The pictures of the pool do not do it justice as my kids had a blast it was clean and well maintained. We ate at the bar and grill in the lodge and the food was great service was good. The location of the hotel was what we were looking for where we weren’t in the chaos of downtown, but going downtown only took 5 minutes tops to get there, and the view was great. You tend to get a lot of rude staff in casinos but they were polite and attentive. The Lodge will be our stay for our next trip to the Black Hills!
