Nice large, comfortable room. Very quiet at night. Staff were friendly and knew their job. The premises, both inside and outside, are remarkably spacious given that the building would probably be described as a village pub.

It was Easter school holidays and so, for an early Friday evening, it was busy around the bar serving position. Added to this the locals have learnt that its a welcome place for dogs. So, I would always recommend if you are eating, it is best to sit in the spacious restaurant to avoid constant distraction. This is not a complaint, rather to advise that there is a choice. Also, there is a large garden outside, so large that a customer referred to it as a field.

Staff very friendly and attentive, lovely playpark to keep children occupied, excellent food and drink available in the attached pub. Room was large, air conditioned and the beds were very comfortable.

The room we stayed in (5) was a little dated and tired, there was quite a lot of black mould around the bath seals and the light fixtures in the room were rather dusty. As we were only staying for one night this wasn't a major issue for ourselves, though may be problematic for anyone with dust allergies.

If visiting Highclere Castle or even close to Newbury….You MUST stay here. Our experience after canceling reservation at another Location (they didn’t have AC) has been amazing! Reservations were efficient. The photos on light do not show haw charming this Inn really is. Our adventure starts at the train station where Richard picked us up in his local taxi. Not only did he take us The Furze Bush he waited while we dropped off our luggage before heading over to Highclere Castle. He said we could call him, and he would gladly pick us up when we were finished our tour. He did just that returned us to the Inn and nothing but exceptional service at the Inn. The restaurant had a “non- boring” menu, so it made dinner choices difficult. Everything was delicious and the 2 young lads who waited on us could not have been more charming, funny and personable. Our room was spotless, and the slipper bathtub was amazing. My last night of vacation included a hot soak in this amazing treat. Next morning (we only stayed one night) we called Richard to see if he would drive us to Heathrow. Agan, more exceptional service. Our only regret we didn’t stay longer…..but for sure we will be back and will tell everyone this place is EXCEPTIONAl!

Nice character pub comfortable bedroom with double bed very clean with air conditioning which helped as hot weather. Peaceful at night. Adequate bathroom shower was small with shower head attachment not adjustable for height. It's good to have soap and shower gel available. Tea was available in our room with iron and board in the cupboard. Food options and times for breakfast were very good. Nice friendly staff.

A really good find in the lovely Hampshire/Berkshire countryside. I had hoped to visit Highclere but it doesn't open until July so had two lovely days in Winchester and Basingstoke instead. Room clean and bigger than I was expecting as it was a large double. Good food both breakfast and evening meals and nice real ales.

TV above the wardrobe ! would have preferred it lower down on a table or stand as there was room and stops you getting neck strain. Shower took a long while to warm up but once been on a few minutes it was okay. Some of the lanes in the area are very narrow, my Satnav took me a rather strange route to Basingstoke on numerous narrow track roads, fortunately when I met another vehicle on one road there was a farm yard entrance to pull over to allow the other to pass, but something to bear in mind if travelling.

I felt at home there. I really liked the lay out and the decor. Staff were friendly and helpful,especially Jules. There were many beautiful walks nearby which we really enjoyed.

Need to hire a gardener to tidy up gardens. They seem neglected. Should have some flowers under the road sign. Too many picnic tables out back door. A couple of them should be in the children’s play area.

Beautiful location, very pretty little pub with rooms. Staff always friendly (2nd time we have stayed). Not far from Highclere Castle. Fab outside space with a beer garden at the front and terrace at the back and great breakfasts

As it was our 2nd time would have been good to see changes to the restaurant menu…felt like I was the same from our first visit. However the food was good and plentiful

Travelled for work, really lovely place! Stayed for 2 nights, room lovely with aircon and had mostly everything needed. Had evening meal both nights in the pub - great food and staff. Beautiful outside area too to enjoy. Breakfast lovely and perfect for my needs.

I was only supplied with hand towels, I luckily take my own bath towel for overnight stays. I'm sure if I'd asked they'd have supplied one.

Comfortable, good food, friendly staff

The Inn is situated not far from the A34 which made it an ideal location for us to break our journey from the ferry terminal in Portsmouth to the north. The room was comfortable if a little dated but had all the 'essentials' needed. We ate in the pub on our arrival and at breakfast the following morning and the food was good, traditional fare at a very good price. This was our first visit to the Furze Bush Inn and we have already booked again for our next return from France.
