Very central. Easy walking distance to all amenities including the river, shops and Vrijthof centre. Small friendly hotel with spacious rooms. We had a triple room which was perfect. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Where else could you stay where you can help yourself to free coffee, juice, water, cake, biscuits and fruit in the mornings. The artwork in the hotel is really good and quirky. We will definitely recommend The Dis to friends !
The only thing I would change was the pillow. It was squishy and seemed to have disintegrated maybe through washing it and I had to try and fold it in half but that is negligible and didn’t detract from the wonderful stay we had. Oh and the mini bar prices were so reasonable compared to everywhere else in Maastricht

Staff could not do enough for us. They were so friendly and nothing was a problem. It's very rare to come across such a welcome. The location is perfect with just a small stroll to the centre of the town. Will definitely return at some stage in the near future.
The building was old, which added to the charm, but it did make you conscious of noise that could disturb other residents. This, however, is a small price to pay for such a great stay.

Very small, but absolutely beautiful and atmospheric hotel in a great location in Maastricht. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but there are many nice places nearby where you can have breakfast. The staff was very nice and helpful (Maria, thank you for the nice conversation and all your advice and suggestions!). The reception is not open 24 hours but a few days before we arrived we were told that the key would be in a box by the entrance and we were given the code to open the box. Everything worked great! We will definitely come back!

Situated 5-10 mins walk from the Frijthof and close enough to all the city sites to accomplish in a couple of days’ walking. Bed very comfortable.
The stairs were challenging! It is in a 1723 constructed building so no scope to install a lift. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone with limited physical capabilities. Quite expensive but our stay was for an André Rieu concert when every hotel will be charging whatever they can get away with......

Excellent location, very large room, very warm (well heated for winter). Staff very helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable. Coffee and tea facilities. Complimentary breakfast snacks daily in reception area were very nice. I would also highly recommend Cafe Forum which is a bar/restaurant on the corner of the same street. We ate and drank there twice. Excellent selection of beers, food was great and the staff were always very friendly.
Nothing!

Location, fabulous. Staff, very nice. No breakfast but minor alternative offered, overall really good service, espresso maker in the room, good shower etc etc and little to complain except one or two small and easy to fix things.
Two main two pet peeves would be these: the door between the reception/room really is not fit for purpose. It doesn't close properly, has no acoustic properties and feel like an utility room door vs actual hotel room door. Everything that happens at reception can be heard and is noticeable. Second minor item is the backdoor was unlocked (and had no key to lock) in addition to the pillows which urgently need replacing.

Location couldn’t be better, just 5 minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Very spacious room and bathroom which had separated toilet. Good hotel for families and although they don’t do a sit down breakfast anymore, they have some take-away bits to bring back to your room from reception. Overall some thoughtful touches in place for visitors.
Experienced some noise disturbances during the night (Saturday). Understandable as it’s an old building, minor detail but could be worth getting carpet up the entire stairs to prevent it. Other than that could not find fault :)

The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Staff greeted us with a smile every day and were very accommodating of our needs.
We stayed during particularly hot days, our room was on the third floor and it got quite warm. The fans provided helped a lot.

Comfortable beds, lovely and ideal location, staff friendly, clean rooms, very big and with lots of light and air. Lovely to have tea and coffee and room tidied each day.
Room 3 bath/shower was a challenge to get in and out and an accident waiting to happen. You have to lift yourself about 3/4 metre to get in and the nothing to support you climbing out with a big drop and bath mats on tiled floors that slip not a good thing...forget this room for aged or less mobile. Also the typical Dutch staircases, lots of small and steep stairs but expected in an old property.

This is a small place with just a few rooms in a historic building in the quiet, cobble-stone streets area of Maastricht. The location is perfect, charming and beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The views over the rooftops are definitely a plus, and made us feel we were in a special part of town. The reception staff and cleaning personnel were both welcoming and attentive. It has a family-run small hotel feeling. I would return here when coming back to town.
