Ideal get-away for your vist in Heidelberg. In the middle of nature and walkingroutes ( which is ideal with a dog ) but also very swift connections to the city ( by bus or Bergbahn). The location is a highligtht in itself when visiting the city since the views over town are splendid. We did have a room with city-view, which is worth the money. Parking the car is free of charge when not at parking-deck. The restaurant and the terrace are nice to have dinner and/or a drink. Limited selection to choose from the menu, but sufficiently when staying a few nights and more important: tastefull. The breakfast offered a broad range of choices, much better then expected ( when reading previous reviews). Friendly staff.

The breakfast was good, 19 Euros. We chose that 2 out of 3 mornings. The location is high above Heidelberg, reached by a winding drive, bus or funicular. Views were spectacular. We ate dinner at their bierstube twice and the meals were good. We took the funiculars down, from about 600 meters to the old town for the day. Second stop is at Schloss Heidelberg, which is a must. There plenty of free parking close, though if need be you can pay for parking. We didn't think it was necessary. It is a first class hotel, in my opinion.

Nothing, just a longer stay.

A 4 star hotel at the top of a mountain overlooking the city? It may seem very incredible to believe, but this hotel is actually located at 570m above sea level, at over 1,700 feet. The hotel boasts of its 4 star rating, and it deserves it - the room is very comfortable and clean and amenities well-stocked. This is a hotel to splurge on - the view from the room facing the city is incredible, and the night view is unforgettable. The morning view is also equally incredible, and it seems a waste that I was not able to spend longer than 1 night to enjoy the view. Easily one of the best hotels to stay at in Heidelberg.

Dinner and breakfast options at the hotel are pricey, so we did not choose to have our meal options at the hotel.

This hotel has an outstanding setting. Being on a mountainside above Heidelberg, the views are so very impressive! We arrived at the hotel in the late evening and we really appreciated how friendly the staff was and how they called the restaurant to wait for us so we could have dinner there before they closed. It was so thoughtful of them! We had a beautiful room with a great view as well as a mountain view room for our kids. The rooms are well appointed and tastefully updated. We only wish we could have stayed here longer. The forest surrounding the hotel is just gorgeous. The restaurant was delicious and the breakfast had many options which was very convenient for our family.

nothing!

We choose a room with view, which definitely seems to be worth the extra investment. It’s a lovely property, great restaurants on site, and easy access to the town via the mountain railway there are walks and cycle rides in the ammeter area, and it’s just a very pleasant place to spend some time. There’s also loads of parking we had a VW California campervan which fitted into the underground car park.

On a mountain, overlooking Heidelberg, the view was fantastic. Breakfast is great with and excellent selection of dishes for every taste.

Although the hotel's restaurant provided tasty food, it failed to meet my expectations for a four-star establishment. I believe they provide consistent restaurant meals to accommodate the continuous flow of tourists. The meal did not offer a genuine gastronomic experience, and it did not provide value for money.

Stunning location, lovely sauna, fresh mountain air, comfortable room, stunning view of sunset - it was one of the first sunny weekends of Spring and lots of locals arrived by bike, car and bus to watch the sun set over the valley.

Liked everything but just to note the Funicular railway was closed for servicing Jan-March. Replacement bus service was good - half hour drive down to old town. Approx 20.euros for taxi from train station to hotel. We had rooms facing back over carpark ('mountain view') and I did feel slightly envious of the rooms with vistas over the valley.

We were supposed to explore this place for on a Sunday afternoon and evening on our way to the south of France. Unfortunately traffic caused that we did not arrive until very late and we did not get the chance to explore the city of Heidelberg. But we intend to come back to Heidelberg and when we do we will book this fabulous place once again. It is very beautifully situated above the city with an excellent view. Breakfast was outstanding leaving nothing left to wish for.

There was nothing ot dislike

The hotel overlooks the whole of Heidelberg. The views from our room were breathtaking - as we could see the town, the river and the Castle. We took a cruise down the river, which was wonderful. The hotel room was comfortable, with a balcony and those outstanding views. A fenicular was situated next to the hotel, which travelled down to the Castle and continued to the town. It was quick and very affordable. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was excellent, as was the service.

I like to eat cereal for breakfast, but the choice of cereal was limited. For anyone who likes a cooked breakfast there were more options available.

We loved this hotel. It’s in a beautiful setting with a wonderful view. The hotel is quite nice too. Looks pretty inside and out. The bed was so very comfortable and the room large with desk armchair and place to put your luggage. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and were very pleased. The meal was good. The presentation lovely and the staff that served us was so nice. Also dessert!!! Many many desserts - and very good ones!! The breakfast offered was also very good. There was so much to choose from. We had initially booked for one night but extended our stay here an extra night as it was so lovely.

I don’t understand why hotels in Europe charge for parking. Especially when they are really only accessible by car ? It wasn’t a huge cost to pay but it’s odd?
