Lovely room, twin beds, which were very comfortable. Usual, tea and coffee station in room. Nice quiet room with all normal things in room, TV, hairdryer etc. around 15min walk to OVO hydro
Lack of parking. No designated parking at hotel. There is street parking, which is free evenings and weekends but we had to park a good 200m from hotel and walk to hotel in snowy conditions. View from window - to side of building - we were in room 110, wasn't very nice, lots of rubbish and overflowing bins/bags from tenement building nextdoor.

The hotel is clean, smells wonderful and is very nicely placed for Kelvingrove. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel seems to undergoing improvements and a refresh.
No on site restaurant available but still a need to preauthorise £100 on check in despite seemingly nothing to be able to charge to the room. Speaks to a level of mistrust in guests checking in to protect against "damages" Breakfast could use a bit of reorganising. All available staff members seemed to be running around in the bar area/breakfast room on the lower ground floor. This meant that reception was unmanned during breakfast. The only staff member I did see on reception during breakfast appeared to be the general manager. Making breakfast self service would require 2 or 3 members of staff instead of all hands on deck.

The staff were super friendly and really helpful. Everyone we encountered from the receptionist to the people at breakfast, every one of them was lovely. The room was on the small side but very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was big with a huge bath! The breakfast was awesome; some cereals and small continental but the cooked breakfast was absolutely lovely (particularly the bacon!)
It was too far out of the way to be as expensive as it is. I've stayed smack bang in the city centre, in an equally nice hotel, for about £100 cheaper. It's a good 30/40 minute walk to the city centre, which was fine for us as the weather was unseasonably warm and sunny, but it would have been pretty miserable if it was raining, which Scotland is about 98% of the time. The only reason I wouldn't book again is the location. (Unless you're fine with paying for buses every day, which I'm not!)

Every year, since 2013, with the exception of lock down, I have stayed at this Hotel. And I love it! It's a beautiful building, in an excellent location for walking to the Hydro, which is where my convention is held annually. Sitting down all day at the convention, it's great to have a brisk walk to and from the arena each day, and a beautifully cooked meal to round off the day. Perfectly balanced. I can personally recommend the Lamb Curry and the Steak, which I enjoyed on two of the evenings during my stay. The menu has something for everyone to enjoy. I've stayed in a different room each year I have visited, and every room has been wonderful. Clean, good facilities, super soft pillows and beautifully made beds. It's a shame to get in and spoil them! My rooms have been located at the front and the back of the hotel and all of them have had enormous windows, letting in lots of natural light, just right for reading, writing and knitting. I was always expecting to find the rooms noisy, being by a busy road, but they haven't been, surprisingly. A 55" television in the room this time was a lovely surprise. This year, the hotel is sporting the Best Western logo, but it is still family owned and run in the same caring way and with attention to detail that is not normally found in hotel chains. The new carpet in the reception is magnificent too. This morning when it was time for me to check out and make my way home again, I was greeted by two lovely members of the team on reception, who explained to me that I didn't have to dread the walk to the bus station with my heavy case, because there was an airport bus (no. 77) due in a few minutes which would deliver me straight there. My case was carried down the steps for me, and I crossed the road to wait for the bus and what joy to be whisked along the road on a 10 minute ride instead of a much longer slog , dragging my case.
I never like having to leave. Being looked after is a wonderful experience. Going home is inevitable, and so is the shopping/cleaning/cooking/washing up and noise when I arrive. But hey, there's always next year to look forward to!

Location was excellent for us as we have family in Finnieston and Partick. Hotel was very clean and the staff were lovely. Our room was on the 3rd floor and very quiet so we had no problem sleeping. After a shaky start with the heating and a chat with reception our room was lovely and warm. Reception staff always had a lovely greeting and a smile for us whenever we were on our way out and on our way in. We had a very enjoyable 6 nights stay.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to maintenance, but there were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. We did have coffee and tea making facilities in our room. The only real problem we found was that the hot water was unpredictable. There were no hot/cold markings on the bath and shower taps and we rarely had hot water. I probably should have mentioned this at reception but I didn't. However we would stay there again in the future.

the location was great, parks really near and an easy walk to the shopping area. the restaurant was good, we sat outside on a gorgeous evening to enjoy our dinner and the breakfast really exceeded our expectations. we visited the Hunterian art gallery on Wednesday morning which was a fantastic experience and really easy to get to
the mattresses on our twin beds needed a thicker layer on top of the springs- maybe a pillow top mattress protector

Perfect location, the SEC is very close by, city center, art galleries and musea also at walking diastance. Many bars and restaurant in the area and the hotel restaurant offers a good range of different dishes at very reasonable prices.
No airco available and windows cannot be opened. Due to the warm weather conditions the roomwas quite hot, especially at night.

The location is fantastic! It’s only a 10 minute walk to downtown, a five minute walk to University, a 10 minute walk up Byers Road, etc. The staff is also incredibly nice and helpful. I have stayed there probably 10 times in the past 10 years, and the quality of service is consistently excellent. Even though there was a change in ownership and name, I’m delighted to report the excellent value has remained the same. They actually seem to care that you enjoy your stay!
I was sad that the welcome drink went away this summer. I also don’t like how smoke from the outdoor seating goes straight up into your room if the window is open.

The staff were exceptional i can't recommend this place enough. This is a budget friendly hotel. The staff go over and above for the comfort of their guests. On arrival the reception was quite dark which made me worry at first but we were very pleasantly surprised it was lovely. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. We stayed in room 107 it was very clean and tidy. Spotless bathroom the bed was so comfortable. We had a tv remote and hairdryer as well as tea and coffee making facilities. There is a small bar in the reception. The main restaurant was being renovated on our stay. Breakfast was amazing. Large selection of hot and cold food, teas, coffee and fruit juice. Staff couldn't do enough for us.
The reception was a bit dark but thats the only thing i could find and thats not a fault just a preference haha
