staff were excellent and attentive. Food was excellent. Enjoyed the entertainment on the Sunday night in the bar area, was unexpected and great craic

although the room was clean, there was a smell that the bathroom was cleaned with either a dirty mop or cloth. the leisure facilities, I was disappointed with the hot tub and jacuzzi as they did not seem to be working

Room We had a lovely, spacious room with a view down to the beach (weather permitting) and of the front of the hotel. Both bedroom and bathroom had all necessary amenities, clean and plenty of space. Staff Everyone working at the hotel was friendly and helpful. They also had great chat and gave us some tips on where to visit locally to make the most of our trip (as over for a wedding). Food and bar Great selection of food and drinks in the bar. The restaurant had options for all dinners - in particular an impressive number of vegeterian and vegan options. Breakfast was an absolute treat - lots of choice and some of the best porridge I've had!

Breakfast was an additional cost which consisted of a continental buffet and hot items also from a buffet but served to you by a member of the restaurant team. Tea and coffee brought to your table in pots which is so much better than some other hotel breakfasts where hot drinks are also at the buffet or are only served a cup at a time. The room was very spacious and comfortable with great views over the bay. The food in the evening was good and served in a relaxed atmosphere. All staff that we came into contact with at the hotel were welcoming and helpful.

We didn't use the pool as planned as a compulsory purchase of a swimming cap was required to use this facility as I was not aware prior to booking, that swimming caps were compulsory.

Things that I liked about my stay were ; The staff were really friendly and welcoming, The food at dinner time was good value. There is ample parking, the room that we stayed in was a good size and the bed was really comfortable with good facilities in the room.

What I didn't enjoy about my stay was that I found the hot food selection at breakfast wasn't what I was expecting for a hotel of this standard, it felt more like one that you would get at a lesser star rating hotel although now the rest that was on offer was fair and a good selection.

Location was fantastic as there was many scenic drives locally. The view of the sea from the conservatory each day for breakfast and dinner was breathtaking. The service in the hotel from reception to wait staff was excellent. Huge selection for breakfast each morning and very fresh. We had dinner every night in the hotel which was also excellent especially the fish. The leisure facilities were brilliant. Will definitely will go back to this hotel again.

Love the place have stayed many times

Having been before many times hence returning yesterday i found none of the usual experienced staff in the bar restaurant manly young people without any guidance the same could be said for breakfast this morning. however the food was brilliant as always. not going to moan but as for the leisure complex the hot tub out of order although it hasn't been working properly for years and the steam room wasn't working. possibly this area is in need of a refurbishment. however I would still recommend the Ballyliffin it is a Beautiful hotel in an excellent location

The spa/pool suited our needs brilliantly. As a couple, we were able to unwind and enjoy all the facilities fully. It was great to have the use of the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and pool. The food in the restaurant was incredible. Cooked to perfection. 5 star. The food was complimented by the view from the terrace. It made for a very enjoyable evening. The staff in the restaurant/bar were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the live music (a man and his keyboard) was brilliant, catering to the crowd and bringing wonderful entertainment. A thoroughly memorable overnight stay for two tired parents who needed a night of luxury.

A small note would be that the bedrooms and the foyer could do with an update. This in no way takes away from the overall experience, but something that may be considered down the line.

very welcoming staff, clean rooms and room was ready ahead of check in at 3pm. Bar / restaurant for coffee, evening meal and breakfast was 5* it’s a short walk to the beach and we had a great day for it. It was my mums 60th birthday and the property had a birthday card and chocolates in the room which was a lovely touch.

There was unfortunately one member of staff at the spa desk who wasn’t friendly or helpful… was such a shame as apart from this member of staff, it was a fantastic stay

Room was perfect with a cracking sea view. We booked dinner in the bar and staff members Hollie and Anthony made our dining experience fantastic with recommendations from the menu and great banter everything we ordered was delicious and there was very little left when we finished. Breakfast was hot, fresh and plentiful . There was something for every member of the family, staff were very attentive and friendly. We had breakfast on the terrace which has a spectacular view of the sea. A lovely experience in a lovely hotel we will definitely be back.

The view was amazing. Though we couldn’t really see it from room 107. But when sitting out in the patio it was beautiful. The staff were very courteous and helpful and the price of food and drink very reasonable.

When we used the leisure facilities there was a maintenance man working for hours on a door into the pool. It made it hard to relax. But I suppose the door needed fixed. Apart from that our stay was very nice.
