The booking was on a B&B basis. Breakfast was ok, buffet style, with some fresh fruit, cereal and a fry etc. It wasn't the greatest selection but taking into account the cost of the room it was reasonable. Could do with a selection of breads and maybe some black and white pudding. The room was comfortable and well appointed. We eat in the hotel on both evenings. It was a bar type menu but there were specials each evening. The food was excellent. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful without being over the top or acting like they didn't mean it. They really helped make the couple of days away a treat. Ample car parking. The town itself is very quiet but its location is great for exploring this area of Donegal.

I can't really think of anything to say that is negative about the hotel or its location. The rate was reasonable for the room and the room size was fine with a double and a single bed. The ensuite was roomy.

It's not plush, but we loved our short stay at the Ballyliffin Hotel. It's in a good location for exploring this part of Donegal and withing a few miles of the excellent Dough Famine Museum and beautiful beaches. The hotel provided a good breakfast, our room was large and very clean, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is good value for what we paid. There's an excellent evening dinner menu with reasonably priced meals, and a lot of locals seem to come into the hotel for an evening meal.

The weather!

I was there for the wonderful Disappear Here Film Festival. The festival takes place in the hotel so it was very handy to stay there. The staff are THE nicest! They were so accommodating when I asked for an early breakfast. Good bar food too. Comfortable and clean bedroom/bathroom.

Nothing to complain about the property! It’s a pity that public transport is SO precarious in Donegal and it’s hard to travel around without a car. The area is SO beautiful and the stay would have been perfect if it was easier to get there.

Lovely staff, food at breakfast was excellent and you got a menu to choose from for the hot food for breakfast which was great, vegetarian and vegan choices as well, plus cereals and yoghurt and fruit,staff very helpful, would stay again

No biscuits with the coffee and tea in the room 😂 bring your own 😆

Food was amazing - the staff lovely each day and at all times. I came with my mother who had her own room and she loved it too - will definitely be back.

considering there was a power cut due to adverse weather the hotel had a generator and was so warm, cozy and comfortable! Rooms were excellent and spacious! Highly recommend!

Breakfast was fresh and plenty available. Vegan options good. Bacon thick sliced and great quality and cooked crispy., perfection. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Room a little cramped.. Limited space around beds. Bathroom let the room down as a bit dated. Doors around hotel were marked and paint scuffed and bit grubby, with hand marks and fingerprints. Some doors could do with a rub down and fresh paint.

Warm welcoming building in a good location for exploring Inishowen. Easy access from car park to reception. Lifts to all floors. Shower was great for washing off a days driving. The towels were fluffy and cosy and the sitting area in the room to relax and have a coffee added to the holiday.

There was nothing that I didn't like...

The location was excellent. Whilst we had issues getting the room door to open we were speedily upgraded to a superior room. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent

There were no instructions on how to use the Jacuzzi bath and as we didn't initially use the wardrobe, we didn't realize there were tea and coffee making facilities in there
