Gorgeous location and very friendly welcome from fellow Brit, Alex who helped us settle in nicely. The room was compact but we had everything we needed and it had a cosy nook for sitting. The bathroom was very nice and everything was super clean. Breakfast was good and the boats were in spitting distance for an early start. Special mention should go to all the staff. Everyone was super friendly and lovely without exception and worked really hard to make sure everyone was having a nice time. The food in the evening was great.

The pillows were rubbish and the bed and room was hot (but we had very hot weather - 30+). A fan was available which made things more comfortable. We knew there wouldn't be a kettle so we brought our own but be aware. If you have a lot of luggage you might want to consider one of the larger rooms. The view from rear balcony was a little sad (bins and car park).

Location fabulous, right on the lake, only 1 of 2 Hotels in that location. Most rooms are to the rear and away from the lake and hubbub of tourism, so they're quiet and with balcony. Very comfy and modern furnishing, wonderful walk in shower. Beds very comfortable. Staff exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Lovely breakfast with a wide choice. Restaurant very good, seating outside lovely with full view over the lake and excellent Bavarian dishes and great beer. Good parking, once you find it. There is a small pebbly beach 10mins walk from the hotel and the swim in the lake was refreshing and with a most wonderful Alpine panorama.

No lifts and as the hotel is on different levels, there are quite a few steps, but staff will help if asked. Access to the hotel front for unloading luggage is down a long pedestrianised street which is very busy during the day. It may be better for the hotel to guide guests arriving by car directly to the hotel car park and then help with the luggage from there. Having said that, both issues are minor and do NOT affect the enjoyment of the stay at this wonderful place.

Upon checking in, we were provided with a Berchtesgaden card each, which provided us with free transport in the area and discounts at multiple attractions, we were also provided a map and booklet showcasing the attractions accessible with the card. Our room was perfect, plenty of space, and a balcony with seating area. The room was cleaned on each of the four days we stayed and the cleaning staff were very friendly when we bumped into them in the corridors. Breakfast was fantastic, with a full continental range on offer, some hot cooked items, and a hot drinks machine. As for location, it couldn't be any better situated unless it was on the lake itself, it's less than a minute walk to the ferry terminal, very close to lots of paths for any walkers, and 5 minutes walk from the bus station if you want to use your Berchtesgaden card to tour the local area. I would also highly recommend eating in the hotel restaurant in the evening at least once. The venison goulash had so much flavour, and is my favourite meal of our 2 week tour of Germany and Austria, and the boiled beef was great too!

There was very little that we didn't like at this hotel If I was being very picky I would say the mattress could have been a bit firmer but that's just personal taste.

Perfect location in front of the Königssee. The receptionist was super kind to give us a FREE room upgrade to a very nice and newly renovated room with balcony and direct view of the Königssee. The stay was so worth it after night-shift work and the 10hr-train-travel. Love the bed and the bathroom too. Breakfast buffet.

the price is high but considering the location and the high peak season, it‘s reasonable

Great Location to everything. Walk out the door and you are in it! We stayed in room 216 which was on the back alley, but had a forward window and side balcony out of the afternoon sun. A breeze cuts across the room. Al's this room has a little view up the Alps. We were pleasantly surprised. None of the other balcony rooms in the back of the hotel get the cross breeze.

We went at end of May and it was starting to get hot. There are no air conditioners or fans so you may need to think ahead or book outside of summer if you don't like heat.

All the staff from the cleaners to the restaurant waiters & the reception were very good. Rooms have been modernised to a very high standard.

No lift but knew in advance & it is an old building.

Lovely room which was modern and had a place for everything. Great new bathroom and shower.

I liked it all

the hotel is directly in front of königsee and has a restaurant on the first level, both indoor and outdoor. The first room we stayed in (Room 2) was simply furnished, but adequate for two person. bathroom was a little small but overall ok. we had a change of room for another two nights. this time it’s one that has a balcony and looking into the lake directly ( Room 4). room was fantastic- newly renovated, modern looking and spacious. breakfast was good, sufficient choices of cold cuts, cheeses, bread, fruits for yogurt etc.

The location was superb. Our room was simple but clean.Be aware that the hotel only has stairs. Breakfast was good, with a lot of different options. Also they have a restaurant with typical German dishes to eat lunch/dinner. Friendly staff. Short way to all attractions. We recommend a boat trip on Königssee.

Noisy, you could hear all catering and local traffic from the rooms in the back of the hotel. One morning the garbage truck was cleaning bins right under our window, you can imagine the smell…
