Beautiful location on river with amazing views! Walkable into Berchtesgaden & a short drive to many exceptionally beautiful places. All the staff were so friendly & helpful, a special thank you to Yörk on reception who helped make a few phone calls for us as we had a problem with our hire car. The restaurant terrace is really nice to come back to for a Bavarian beer after a day out exploring, again the staff were so friendly, nothing too much trouble! The food is also very good, especially the Friday BBQ. We stayed here a few years ago & would definitely come again! We really enjoyed it here.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Grünberger in Berchtesgaden, which offered a cozy Bavarian atmosphere with beautiful wooden interiors. The hotel room was well-heated due to its size, making it especially comfortable during colder nights. A great bonus was the sauna, included in the price—a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfast selection was satisfying, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to reach key attractions. Additionally, having multiple parking areas was convenient for those traveling by car. The shower and bathroom were also notably clean, which is always a plus.

The only downside was that, as a solo traveler, the room felt a bit small. However, for a short stay, it was still manageable. Overall, a great choice for those looking for a traditional and well-situated stay in Berchtesgaden!

Location - perfect for our visit, 2 min walk to train station and buses with great outlook over creek. Breakfast was superb, dining area spacious, dinner menu excellent and staff were wonderful. A special mention to York at reception who looked after us at check-in, check-out and for everything else that we asked of him. The facilities at the hotel were more 4 stars than 3 star - what a nice surprise! Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berchestgaden and surrounds.

Bathroom was on the small side but was not an issue. Nothing else was lacking.

The location was fantastic overlooking the beautiful river. Our daughter enjoyed playing in the garden facilities on the trampoline with plenty of space for us to sit and relax as well. We enjoyed a swim in the pool which is open for generous hours. A lovely touch having toys available for the children to use in the pool as well. Robes also provided for swimming which was lovely. Pool was warm and had different interactive bubble features. Staff were all lovely and spoke impeccable English which was a bonus. Free parking was a brilliant touch.

Options for breakfast were a little more limited than we had seen in previous hotels but quality of food was still lovely. Children enjoyed the nesquik milkshake offering.

The man at the front desk was warm and welcoming. He even dug out some converters for us since we forgot to bring them ourselves. At the end of our stay, when one of my daughters left a converter someplace else, he agreed to allow her to return it later, since she is currently living in a nearby village. We were grateful for his flexibility and understanding. We also found that the breakfast buffet offered a healthy and rich variety from which we could choose. We looked forward to it every morning. The town was charming and there was ample parking for our rented vehicle. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Excellent location, close to train/bus station, and located on the river. The outdoor area with lounge chairs was beautiful, and relaxing. The amenities for the hotel were great. We stayed in one of the hotel’s apartments.

The apartment was spacious, but sparse and not cozy. There were no rugs, and the apartment echoed every sound from inside and outside, due to the lack of floor or wall coverings of any kind. This made it difficult to sleep or have any privacy.

Excellent hotel experience! The structure in itself is very nice for its position, the services it offers, the comfort of the rooms, the lovely breakfast... but in my opinion what makes it a 10 is the staff. The hotel was fully booked and they were very busy, but that never transpired in the way they dealt with the guests: they were always patient, always willing to go the extra mile and they made us feel truly welcome. A casual-family-vibe that is just priceless.

There were works ongoing in the parking lot and this made the parking situation somewhat crowded, however this was handled with such grace by the staff that it wasn't that big of a deal.

The balcony!!! The room was spacious, bright. Breakfast was delicious with lots of fruit, breads, and cheeses...meats too. Very convenient to the bus/train station and grocery stores. Walkable to town and shopping and the Salt mine. Beautiful river and mountain view. Even though there was no ac, they gave us a fan so it was comfortable sleeping.

We like to keep our door and window opened but often we smelled cigarette smoke. Our beds made noise when we moved waking up the other person.

Great location right on the River Ache with loungers & chairs on the river bank which were lovely to relax in the sun. Extensive breakfast selection which really set us up for the day, we often missed lunch as we weren't hungry. The usual choice of cereals, cold meats, yoghurt, fruit (dried & fresh) & the most wonderful selection of breads. There was a small selection of hot food - bacon with scrambled or boiled eggs. Our room was on the ground floor next to the road so we had a little noise but the double glazing is very good. The room was comfortable with a walk in shower, wardrobe, tv etc & was cleaned daily. The only down side was the restaurant was shut in the evenings but there are plenty of places to eat nearby or a short drive away. If you have a car, there is limited parking in front of & at the back of the hotel & cars often double parked. We weren't told that if you double parked behind someone else, you needed to leave your keys in the car so it could be moved if need be. We only did it once! The hotel is directly opposite the bus/train station & services are frequent & go everywhere. There is a nice pool. We didn't get to use it but it was popular with other guests. There are also massage, hair & beauty facilities which I imagine are open if you actually book an appointment. The staff are lovely, so friendly & helpful. Arne was a joy at breakfast each day & Peter helped my husband get into his suitcase when the lock wouldn't open on the day we arrived, going as far as to phone Samsonite for advice.

The location was awesome. The hotel staff from the front desk staff, housekeeping, and resteraunt were all great. We had two incidents with elderly mother. She fell in the parking lot and two staff came running to help. She fell down two steps in the restaurant, and multiple staff helped right away to take her to the room as she requested. She lost her purse when she fell. It had her passport and a lot of money and jewelry in it. It was returned with everything in it. Very honest, kind, and caring people.
