Beautiful old inn right on the ocean, with amazing views and a great location. The coastal trail is right out the front door, and you can easily walk to shops, restaurants and the aquarium. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and clean, and breakfast was tasty. They also do a wine and cheese every afternoon, have homemade cookies every evening, and have bikes available if you want to go for a ride. All in all, a great place and we will be back.

It was a little tough to control the temperature in the room, but we eventually found an equilibrium that worked for us.

Breakfast was very nice. There was a warm egg dish each morning and fresh-baked treats (banana bread or scone) as well as muesli, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread and coffee/tea. In the afternoon there was a happy hour with a house white/red some crackers and cheese and/or cookies. The living spaces were light, bright and comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Dining room had beautiful views of the ocean across the street.

Didn't realize that the larger room (with sitting area/living room) would be in a separate building with external staircase. The heating was old-school manual in-room controlled. Noisy when running and slightly smelly.

We loved our stay. Traveling from Oakdale CA we stopped and hiked in The Pinnacles before checking in at the Inn in Pacific Grove. When we arrived at the Inn we were unexpectedly treated to wine and cheese with a wonderful view of the ocean from the Inn's dining room. Such a lovely way to start our stay after exerting ourselves hiking. It was refreshing. We also enjoyed the safety of the area and were comfortable enough to walk to and from dinner after sunset...joyously anticipating cookies and coffee upon our return. The Inn is about a 10 minute walk from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. If I could describe the environment of the Inn and the neighborhood it rests in with one word it would be RESTORATIVE.

They really did such a great job in the hospitality department that I only can think of one or two things to improve upon. The bed was too hard for my taste. One other thing I think could benefit the experience is a more readily available history of the house. They did have a couple of short write ups on two of its owners, the first being the man who built it and then another of the current owner. We had to ask. It would be a nice touch to have something put together and available without asking. The staff also didn't seem to know much about the history of the house.

Everything! A historic building built originally in 1888! Remodeled beautifully. Extremely well-appointed with tons of character. Carla was on duty when we arrived and could not have been more gracious and accommodating. With the beautiful coastline right across the street, we were able to ride the complimentary bikes for a few miles and got a great sunset spot at the recommendation of Carla. As I write this review, we are lying in a very comfortable bed in a beautiful room listening to the ocean sounds. We’re already so blown away and can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds at this beautiful property!

We loved the scenery, and how close the ocean was to our room. We also liked that there were a ton of restaurants nearby. The rooms were updated, instead of the old Victorian houses that have old school furnishings. The breakfast was nice.

The street was a little crowded, but we were still able to park. And we did have noisy neighbors upstairs that everytime they walked you would hear it creeking on our ceiling. We also didn't like that kids were allowed, but they were quiet enough.

We were in The Carriage House (separate to the main house), on the top floor and the room was very big. There was a sofa area, two armchairs, fireplace and a very comfortable bed. There was a pod based coffee machine and a small fridge that had chilled water in it. The bathroom was big with a bath that had a whirlpool (didn’t have time to use), two sinks and had some lovely toiletries. There was a walk-in shower which had plenty of room. Although no air con, it did have a good fan to help following a very hot day in October. Breakfast the next morning was superb! Lots of choice and the sour cream coffee cake was amazing! Amazing stay, with very friendly staff, great food and we would like to revisit for a longer stay.

The only downside was the water smelt and tasted salty plus you have to be careful of the shower door as it backs straight onto the bathroom door.

4 o'clock treats were very nice surprise. Breakfast was slightly different every day and very tasty! Excellent location, we enjoyed the walks along the seafront and the nearby restaurants in the village. Sea otters can be seen right in front.

Wishing the room had a view like the breakfast and dining room. You can easily walk to the Monterey Aquarium, which is unfortunately overrated....

Location is perfect - view of the ocean from the dining area and from the balcony. 20 steps to the pedestrian / bike path on the ocean. Room was large with plenty of seating, fireplace, comfortable bed. Bathroom was also large with a huge jacuzzi tub and they provided bath salts. Hot breakfast with many choices of high quality items. Sodas / water complimentary and every night wine / cheese / cookies. We will be back.

Nothing. Parking is on the street but we were able to find spots easily.

Loved the cookies. Enjoyed the breakfast quiche. So did my husband who usually doesn’t each quiche. The coffee was good. I am trying to wean off of so much cream in my coffee and it tasted fine.

When I found out the room didn’t have air conditioning I was a little disappointed but because the weather is so mild along the coast we didn’t need air. We were made aware of a fan in The closet That we could use. We did at first but didn’t really need it.

This place is very well taken care of and spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable with great sheets, and we really enjoyed the beautiful views from the property. The complimentary happy hour snacks and breakfast were such a nice touch and made the stay feel extra welcoming. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
