The people are so nice and hard working and the gardens are beautiful. The first room did not have heat working and as soon as we told them we got another room. The 2nd room had a fireplace and a slice view of the ocean.

Didn’t expect an upcharge for room change. The breakfast 1st day great- custard cinnamon French toast, other days adequate but repeating - not what we expected for elegance in food. Eggs, 1 piece bacon 1 piece toast am bowl of fruit ( mixed the first day only) and beaches. There are so many steps even to get in the facility and then more to our room- difficult with luggage. We had requested no steps.

The property was clean with modern features where you want them. Fun sitting parlors with games and a library. Gorgeous view from breakfast-we watched otters bob around in the waves while we ate. Staff was friendly and helpful - they do "close" at 9 pm so if you have a late check in make sure you coordinate with them. There is a code to get in after 9 if you are already checked in. Right by the coastal trail. We saw harbor seal pups just a block away in the harbor seal sanctuary. There is limited on property parking. We checked in around 6 pm and it was full already. There was plenty of on street parking in the evening that we used.

Personally not a huge fan of the Victorian decor but it is very clearly advertised as such. We chose the property for its location, good breakfast reviews, and high cleanliness ratings. The decor was in beautiful shape if you're into that style.

Amazing location, with walkability to many key locations and a few restaurants. The view from dining room was amazing way to start the day along with the delicious breakfast. Really appreciated the complimentary water, coffee and tea available throughout the day.

The bed wasn’t too comfortable, and I’m glad I brought my own pillow. Take note if you have chronic back or neck pain like myself. Also shower was so small and shower head was locked in one position and stream hit the wall mostly.

The location was excellent. It was across the street from the coastal walking path. The Aquarium, shops and restaurants were within a 15 minute walk. The property was very cute, it has a beautiful breakfast room, charming courtyard, and some common sitting rooms. The breakfast (8am-10am) was good for an included meal but not something you’d go out of your way for - you order from a menu (options were basically scrambled eggs with bacon toast and fruit or oatmeal breakfast) with coffee and juice. They had free tea, coffee, and infused water all day in the lobby. They had a pool table, ping pong and some board games if you felt like hanging around the hotel to relax. Free parking. Most of the staff was friendly.

There wasn’t much to dislike. Our room was small and our bed wasn’t luxurious, but we did book one of the least expensive rooms and it was comfortable enough. They said we’d have extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe but didn’t. We had to leave before the breakfast time (8am-10am) one morning and asked the day before if they could put any food aside for us at 7:50am, the staff member said they would leave a note for the morning staff - but couldn’t promise they’d be able to. When I asked in the morning about it, the staff member refused.

The property itself was absolutely stunning. The architecture and furnishings added beautifully to the energy of the place. The staff was beyond kind and accommodating. I enjoyed the game room, personalized breakfast, and views of the ocean. The courtyard was also beautiful with a relaxing fountain and beautiful plants.

I had a room with the courtyard view and there was no screens on the doors or windows to open for fresh air. If we wanted fresh air then I would have to prop the doors open, exposing my room to the many other guests passing through the courtyard. Although it was still beautiful, this arrangement was not realistic for privacy and safety purposes.

The location is highly desirable. It is located across from the beach. The property includes a dedicated parking area.

The water pressure was notably low, despite our room being situated on the ground floor. Furthermore, the bathroom lacks a sink, which is inconveniently located beside the bed. It is possible that not all rooms are similarly configured. Additionally, the room was not equipped with a refrigerator, which is a standard amenity in most hotel rooms.

The breakfast was a nice treat. The food was fine and the dining room is simply incredible. This is a very special place to stay. It has tremendous warmth, character and charm. Everything was clean and well maintained. Check in and check out were simple and easy. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The only thing that would have been nice is having a small fridge in the room. It may not fit with the antique decor, but maybe placed in a cabinet might work. I took an ice chest, which did the trick, and the staff provided free ice! It all worked out.

Great location looking out over the water, .7 miles from Aquarium and .7 miles from a variety of restaurants. Walk out the door to the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail. Breakfast room looks out over the water where you can spot sea otters, sea lions and dolphins. Breakfast menu changes daily with about 5 options. Staff has been there a long time and are all very friendly and helpful.

No frig in the room, which we missed. No TV, but that was fine with us. Need to walk a half mile or so to most restaurants, which was mostly fine but nice to have a closer option.

I loved the historical feel behind the property. It was very quaint and felt like home! The staff made my partner and I feel very welcome which we adored.

One thing that my partner and I felt was missing from the experience was the lack of a microwave. We had taken food to go after dinner to finish up in our room. We found out after we arrived back to our room that no where on site was there a microwave to reheat our food. Kind of a bummer, but other than that, it was a wonderful experience!

I’ve had terrible experiences with hotels but this one truly fixed my perspective on staying at hotels. I truly loved all the kind staff and all the activities you can do within the hotel. It’s right next to everything and you don’t have to worry about parking. This was an amazing hotel and when I come back I will be booking at this hotel again!
