The pool area was beautiful with a nice view, clean, and refreshing, The breakfast was made to order and delicious. We truly enjoyed just hanging out at this place. We also enjoyed all the cats--they were our pets during our stay! Fernando was very helpful with suggestions and accommodating. Our stay here was very homey feeling rather than a hotel stay.

I truly can't think of anything we did not like...except for us having to drive through San Jose to get here. They do offer an airport pick-up, which would be worth it. Our prior communication from the States was lagged, but once we got there, communication was great.

This is truly the best hotel I have ever stayed in in San Jose. If your looking for restaurant on site and a huge breakfast buffet. This is not your spot. But if your looking for a good size room, good shower, comfy bed and super soft sheets! A beautiful interior (this owner has amazing taste), with comfy sofaes and even a piano, kind staff, very pet friendly (we brought our dog and all were so nice to him), where the hotel cats come to be cuddled next to the pool and with a breathtaking VIEW both in daytime but even more at night you can see while taking a dip in the pool - this location will take your breath away! Family run. And for Escazu area a good price! We loved our stay.

Breakfast included is nice. And pretty decent but a bit more vegetables for the egg options would be great. Not only tomato. Otherwise all is amazing.

The hotel is located outside San Jose and was not particularly easy to walk around so we used taxis (which were excellent value) to get in and out of San Jose We arrived quite late at night and the manager was excellent and really helpful (he loaned us a phone charger) and we could get a couple of cold beers which is exactly what we needed. The view over San Jose from both the apartment and the pool was stunning The pool was a reasonable size and it was lovely to have a quick swim before and after our day out. Breakfasts were very nice - eggs cooked to demand. The apartment has a lovely garden. It is a really lovely place to stay. Our bedroom was very large with teas and coffees.

I really loved my stay at Posada el Quijote. It was my final night in Costa Rica before catching my flight back home and it was a brilliant place to relax and rest before the long journey. Fernando was really helpful and friendly, as was the other gentleman on reception in the evening. The pool has a brilliant view of San José, and being that bit higher up, there was a lovely breeze so it was a nice temperature for sunbathing. It was a 12 minute walk to a Fresh Market when I wanted to pop out for lunch and get supplies. The breakfast included had a range of options including gluten-free pancakes! There's a lovely dog called Perla on-site as well as seven cats. It felt like a nice homely place to stay.

The swimming pool could do with a little bit of TLC, it needed a bit of a fix-up and a clean in places. But it did the job for me for a final bit of relaxation.

Staff were very helpful, views down to city nice and the 8 cats and one dog adorable.Sitting area homely and library and games collection a nice touch.

We were upgraded to a room that had two chairs and table outside, but felt a bit like a cellar as only view out to swings and walls. Nowhere in walking distance to go for a meal. We knew that in advance but underestimated that we would feel a bit trapped in the evening. Drive into city in rush hour very long and nerv wrecking Rush hour lasts from 6 in the morning to 10 am and starts again around 16 o clock till 20 o clock.

We had high expectations for Posada el Quijote before arriving as a result of the many excellent reviews and were not disappointed. The location is excellent, with stunning views of the city and the hotel feels more like you have been invited into someone’s beautiful home, due to the spacious and nicely appointed shared living areas. The service was great and the inclusive breakfast was very good too. All for a very reasonable price.

Amazing views of the city. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. I was able to fly my drone right from the pool side. Not too far from the city center and fairly close to the freeway so getting around was a breeze.

The car parking was on an incline and very cramped, so getting in out of the space and car weren't as smooth as I wanted.

The staff were wonderful and amenable, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy, and they gave us really good tips on places to eat and how to get around to various museums and sites in San Jose. The hotel has the feel of a fancy house, rather than a corporate resort, which makes it feel cozy and home-like. Their pool has breathtaking views of the city and mountains. The dog and cats on site are adorable. We loved it all!

We have zero complaints. This place is amazing, especially for the price. We only wish we could've stayed longer.

Excellent choice in San José! While we didn't appreciate much the city of San José, we stayed here for the first night when we arrived and our last night before leaving Costa Rica and we are happy we did. The location is great, just in the outskirt of the city, but in a much better environment with a great view from the pool. Staff is so helpful. They helped us rent the car, pick up from and drop off to the airport was great. The room was clean and comfortable.

Nothing! Breakfast is a bit on the light side depending which option you choose.

The view of the hotel was extraordinary! Watching the sunrise and enjoying the city lights at night was the best thing. The staff was incredibly friendly and gave us perfect recommendations on where to go out for dinner. The charme of the hotel was simply inviting to stay longer. The architecture was unique and was simply better than what we have expected! We really liked the breakfast system: you are starting with juice, fresh fruits and coffee / tea. Afterwards you can decide from a menu what you would like to eat. To reduce food waste the have the system to tell them if you would like to have a small plate or a big plate. You can even decide to pick two different menus.

Even though our room had the best view, it was nearby a Main Street. If you are used to that - no problem. If you are struggling with traffic noise it could become a problem around 5am. But that depends on the person.
