This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel. It’s no longer exclusively gay, but I don’t think that really matters much as long as it’s welcoming to gay people. The rooms are very nice, the staff is excellent, local people show up at least on the weekend to use the bar, And it’s close to a number of restaurants. (I highly recommend Yurgos Peruvian restaurants about a 15 minute walk away. Superb food). If you want to go into downtown San Jose, it’s about a five dollar cab ride.

The music around the pool and bar was a bit on the loud side for my taste. I really don’t much care for the modern trend of music everywhere. I would feel the same if it was music that I liked. If they must play music, at least make it easy listening and turn the volume down so that it can only be listened to if someone wants to listen to it. Personally, I don’t need it. That’s why God invented earbuds.

It’s in a nice location, close to parks, restaurants, markets & shopping center. They have a full bar, restaurant, and lovely pool. Staff is friendly & helpful.

The property is doing some remodeling to improve the experience - it didn’t interrupt my stay relaxing experience

Everything! Beautiful room and facilities are excellent. I was in town for dental work and the entire staff went out of their way to make my stay unforgettable. This will be my hotel when I’m in San Jose. Thank you James, Omar, Liz,Tiffany and all the others that made this a perfect stay! Mucho Gracias amigos

Absolutely nothing

Colours was our first desistination in Costa Rica, a surprise trip to celebrate my husband's milestone birthday this year. I chose Colours specifically because it caters to the LGBT+ community and I had read such positive reviews. I highly recommend it! I had wanted to do a little something special to kick off his birthday trip and asked through the Booking.com message feature if I could arrange to have flowers waiting in the room for him. I recieved the warmest response to my request almost immediately and this gesture set the stage for an absolutely wonderful experience with the whole Colours team. The staff was so helpful and genuinely kind beyond any expectations, among other things guiding us on how best to see San José over the two days we were there and helping us to arrange transfer upon our return to the capital after a week of touring the country and transfer back to the airport the following day for our flight home. The team can help you will all kinds of other tour arrangements as well. The property features are great with a nice big pool, lovely bar and restaurant which made breakfast and lunch so convenient. All the meals we ordered there were terrific and made with such care. We spent a total of three nights at Colours - two on our front end and one at the back of our trip. We greatly look forward to our return there again soon. I highly, highly recommend Colours !

The price and what you get is well balanced You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The people are friendly and help you. lunch/dinner, except Sundays(they are closed): I recommand a Peru restaurant around the corner: super food, for example fish soup. Almost gourmet level. Rainer

Excellent staff, Liz, Omar, Jordan, David and all staff did so much for me. They went over and above to help, they knew about the trips, buses, tacus and everything. Excellent meals from a great chef too. Well done to all.

This is the only gay hotel in San Jose. The new owners are making great improvements,so it can look like a work in progress at times. However it is a great place to stay,and getting better each time I am here.The staff are great, the food is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable.

This is usually my go to hotel in San Jose. Staff are friendly, the hotel surrounds a pool. The bar and restaurant are on site and once you’ve been here a couple of times everyone knows you by name. The hotel is going through some changes right now, but the staff go out of their way to minimize inconvenience to the guests.

Very lovely hotel. The staff is very sweet and help you with everything you need. The food is great. If you have the time. Get a massage. The massage therapist is very good. The hotel is very place to chill and relax at the beginning or end or your round trip thru Costa Rica.

Relaxed hotel environment. Plenty of public spaces to read, swim or just relax. Very helpful staff. A couple of restaurants and a small supermarket within walking distance.
