First of all, the staff here, especially the reception team, were excellent and very accommodating. The location is excellent, as the Holiday Inn next door is a great location for tours to pick you up, and the 24x7 Denny's was a perfect place for an American to get a little homey experience. There is an also a sports bar next door, and they have okay food and drinks at reasonable prices. The balcony was a nice addition, good for drying wet clothes as the weather wasn't that conducive to sitting outside when we were in San Jose. Maid service was dependable and efficient.

For the price, complaints should be at a minimum, but this Is just a very basic motel-style place, so just set your expectations accordingly. Limited sound-proofing, so hearing what's going on in the halls and adjacent rooms is likely.

Pool area was beautiful, but the hot tub jets were not working

Nice pool, the staff was helpful and willing to assist, loved the nature and the garden around the pool area.

The rooms looked quite old, a renovation wouldn’t hurt anyone and the customer experience will be way better, more options for breakfast such as waffles or pancakes will be greatly appreciated as well.

The fact that only one face wash cloth was left daily, and we had to call front desk each day to get extra one, when I had them there were two adults in the room.

My view is often of the bodega…first flop 2 floor every time …o paid for pool view. And got the bodega de lata ..very ugly

The property is well located and it’s near several places in San Jose

The hotel rooms had a weird smell that we were able to feel each time that we were getting in the room

The pool and surrounding area is very nice. There was a laundry facility available which was very appreciated ($1.50 for washer, same for dryer). The room was nice, with a decent-sized terrace, fridge and microwave. There was a safe for passports, etc. Hot running water with good pressure. It was clean and we felt safe. The wifi was good. The breakfast was fine; fruit, eggs, beans and rice, some sausage. Overall, I would consider staying here again.

The shuttle is NOT free (which was one of the qualifiers I used to find the hotel). I don't know if that is a Booking.com mistake or the hotel's but it is $9 pp. It runs on the hour and I think it is first come first served. I don't know if $9 is a good price as I suspect a taxi may be more or less than that, depending on traffic. For a family, it might be expensive.
