The staff was really kind and attentive, the building and room are beautiful, and it's walking distance to good cafes and activities. The breakfast is really nice too!

Little internet in too. Would love hooks to hang clothes, no parking even though it stated parking.

This place has beautifully restored an old building and turned it into a charming hotel with a cozy and vintage atmosphere. I’ve traveled to many places, but this one stands out because the owner personally greets guests in the morning, asks about their needs, and serves breakfast himself. It was a beautiful and memorable experience, and I highly recommend this place to others. It’s also conveniently located near downtown, which made everything more accessible. All the staff were very kind and welcoming. If I had to mention one small drawback, it would be that some facilities could use a bit of maintenance, such as organizing the TV cables. Another suggestion would be to provide bottled water in the room. I was told by a local friend living in Costa Rica that the tap water is safe to drink, so I did. However, for people who are unfamiliar with the local water quality, it’s common to avoid drinking from the tap. If the water is indeed safe, it would be helpful to provide more detailed information so guests can drink with peace of mind. Alternatively, a shared purified water station would be a great addition. The peacefulness. The old Victorian Style home brings back another Era, which is a little before my time. The bed was comfortable, and the room was big. I could step right outside to a peaceful garden area with birds walking above my head on the one platform. Breakfast outside was really nice also. I only wish I could have stayed here longer. Originally, I booked 3 days here, but their was one fella who said they couldn't accommodate my request for ice or a freezer. He said their ice machine was down, so I unfortunately had to cancel my reservation. The next place I booked that said they could accommodate my needs was bad. I was able to come back here for one day, and I had a cup cooler for my ice. The manager was sorry about the other fella and said they indeed could have gotten me some ice anytime. They were very accommodating and very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, wonderful very helpful and friendly staff, the room was big, very clean, the bed was so comfortable and the blankets were amazing to sleep in at night when it gets colder in San Jose. There was Wi-Fi, TV, really a great place and I want to mantion the staff again because they were really amazing with their treatment and attentiveness.

There were problems with the water at night and in the morning, sometimes they werent any so I needed to ask the staff to open the tank and it was pretty uncomfortable and dont quite match with the price of the stay that was expansive.

What a tranquil spot in the heart of San Jose. From the outside you may think that it could be a little loud given its central location but once you walk through the front doors (and the stunning interior decor) you are met with complete serenity with a beautiful courtyard, lush greenery and beautiful Costa Rican architecture. The staff are incredible, extremely friendly, accommodating and always available. This hotel is a true gem, exactly what I needed to unwind after spending the day out in the busy streets of San Jose!

Absolutely gorgeous place, with the most lovely garden in the quiet sunny courtyard where I enjoyed a great breakfast and then sat in the peace, reading my book. The staff were very kind, friendly and interesting people, as was the owner. It also has a nice, cozy little bar and is only 5 blocks away from a very large park to walk in. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to find this place. This is THE place to stay if you're in San Jose!!

Excellent stay in San José. Located in a beautiful historical house, the room was a good size, clean, and with comfortable beds. The inside patio was green and sunny, and the staff were happy to go beyond to accommodate our needs. The breakfast included was varied and plenty. The dinner menu was small, but saved us on a holiday evening when everything in town was closed, and the food itself was good quality.

I had a quick one night stay but it was amazing, the staff was super nice from the moment I stepped foot into the hotel. Breakfast was also delicious. The rooms are pretty clean. Fyi, there is no air conditioning but it is very fresh. There is a garden in the center which is really nice. Location wise, super centric and close by a lot of things. Overall a great experience.
