Room was big and comfortable, staff very helpful, good location short walk to downtown, breakfast was typical local food

Events in the pool for external guests and not lot of amenities in the room

This is the review I posted on Google Maps in June 2024 A big hotel with 12 floors. The room was spacious clean and modern with all the amenities. I did not see any bed bugs as described in one of the review. The shower pressure and adjustable temperature of the water were fine The location is good within walking distance from shops and downtown (20 to 30 minutes walk) if the weather is good. The breakfast and the service are excellent. The hotel arranged for an outside service to stitch my torn pants. The airport is about 30 minutes or less away from the airport but you cannot guarantee San José traffic. It took me around an hour or so to reach the airport due to 2 accidents on the route. The main drawback was the weak internet and the weak coverage in the room (10th floor). I reported it 3 times with no improvement. It was sort of better on the table side but on the bed I had to use mobile data which was irritating. So, if the internet is important to you, better ask for a room with good internet coverage or think twice if you need to stay in no coverage in the room

The location only works if you are part of a tour group or traveling for business. As a single person or a couple it is too far from everything and the area not safe for walking. Also. Arrange your own transfers and travel as the quotes from reception and travel guide is astronomical. Uber works here even though they say it does not, and want to sell you on their uncles expensive taxi.

I checked in twice touch down San Jose and the day before I left Costa Rica. I must say, I love the place. In terms of cleanliness, amazing team who kept the rooms, and every space of the hotel sparkling clean. I love the friendliness and efficiency of the reception / check in counter. Easy to communicate in english. The restaurant staff (waiters) are also nice and kind, very much accomodating with my request of the food that I can eat, because I have a strict diet to follow. The food tastes sooo good - the ala carte and breakfast, the kitchen and chef, great team to give us guests, nourishing food that is made from the heart. I love the size of the room, there is enough space to walk and navigate my way around the room without me feeling suffocated. Great design and choice of interior as well. I love the mini office space, where I was able to do a little bit of online work. The size of bathroom is also great, enough to walk and navigate inside without hitting the toilet bowls and I love the way the bathroom is designed, curtains, lightings. Simple but with class. The overall feeling I had n the hotel is "i feel safe", super comfortable and I was able to relax and rest because of the very cozy ambiance in the room and around the hotel. Keep it up guys!

Few small things I requested, time to arrive in the room. And there was one request that never came, the bar soap and lotion, which I needed during shower time, few hours before I checked out. And I did not receive a call from the reception team on the status of my request. If the item is not available, they could have informed me. This is on thing to improve.

Breakfast was good (not great), as there were enough options (hot, cold, fruit, yogurt) but within these choice categories you have to stick with few choices. Local gallo pinto was good. Room is spacious. There is a swimming pool, but it rained most of the time (when it was sunny, we were in the conference room at the event I participated). Staff very nice and courteous.

Costa Rican coffee is weak for my taste, but I could pay for an espresso, cappuccino, etc. Bed is a bit too soft. Not cheap, but Costa Rica is not a cheap country.

The rooms were very spacious and the beds were fantastic! The TV is a smart TV so you can connect to Netflix and other platforms with your personal ID and password. The air conditioning in the rooms was also great! Breakfast was a buffet with various options that included cereals and yoghurt, hot items such as scrambled eggs and various bread options. More than enough!

Everything was great - the location of the hotel is close to downtown, where the museums are, but not too close to other nicer restaurants.

If your wanting to be somewhat close to the historic downtown area this is a great hotel for that. If your looking for a hotel close to the beach then this wouldn't be the place to stay. However with that said the hotel has onsight someone to help you plan excursions etc. I waited to the last minute as in day before and everything was booked. So i took an uber from hotel to La Fortuna and Manuel Beach and it was $280 usd. Just to give you and example of how far away it was so with that said book your tours to get a cheaper rate. Would i stay here again, absolutely because it was beautiful, restaurant was great, the staff treated me like family and that was the best part of it all.

From the minute we arrived to the time We left we had an absolute amazing experience. I would rate this hotel 10 stars if I could due to friendliness of their staff and the location as well as beitifully maintained property. The room was spacious with the most amazing view day time and at night time. The cleanliness of every area was pleasant. Breakfast included every morning had a fresh variety of food to choose from. I would Totally come back to this location and recommend it 150%.

Very easy to organise a transfer from the airport with the company to get us to the hotel and everyone we dealt with was very friendly. The location is great and the room had a view. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. It was a great starting point for our trip around the country after some long flights.

It was a bit more expensive than we really would have liked to have spent but the lack of hassle getting there and organising transport to the hotel helped to ease that.

We had airplane issues and got to the hotel about 7 hours later than planned and in the dark. It was great that the lobby restaurant was still open as we were tired, frustrated, hungry, and in no mood to go out to eat. The room was relatively large, and the view was very nice from the 6th floor.

I was surprised to see a sign telling us not to put toilet paper in the toilet. This is a large hotel in a major city, and I was taken back that their plumbing wasn't more up to date and efficient.
