It’s very cute. One very friendly guy works in his shop attached to the building and also runs the hotel. It was very basic but always clean, and it was perfect to catch the Tica bus to Panama the next morning, with just a 600m walk. There are lots of places to eat close by, as well as a small balcony and kitchen where you can prepare your own food if you wish. The shower also has hot water which is always a bonus!

The room was hot, but manageable with a fan. The bed was comfy but felt very sweaty (like if you were laying on plastic).

Helpful and friendly staff. Nice shared spaces. Size of room and facilities of the room was good for a 3 night stay.

Lots of noise from the road as the windows are not soundproof. The bins of both the kitchenette and the bathroom were not emptied between Saturday and Sunday, and maybe they needed to

Even though it's a hotel, they have a large common area with a small but nice kitchen. From the location, it's easy to walk into the city center, while there is a bus stop right in front if you prefer taking the bus. Also, there were many restaurants close by.

Nothing too bad, the kitchen doesn't have a stove, only a microwave. But then again, I only ever made tea.

Kitchen is under equipped, only microwave available which is unfortunate… 30min walk to center which is ok but a bit far if you just want to visit with short time.

I greatly appreciate the help the owner gave me when I had an unexpected problem. She was very kind and understanding. I look forward to returning to explore Costa Rica and definitely will make Del Cafetal CR my home base.

Walkable location, nice room, nice common area with tables and seating

The kitchen had less than the pictures showed (no stove), only a water boiler and toaster oven to cook with. The upstairs bathroom was also very tiny.

Staff were very friendly and allowed us to stay all day after check out until our taxi to the airport in the evening. The room was a good size with lots of storage and the bed was comfortable. Common areas were nice, comfortable and clean.

The room had no insulation so was cold at night, this is similar to the majority of places in San Jose. Kitchen doesn’t have an electric or gas hob.

Cute hotel with private bedrooms and shared bathrooms. It was clean and it had a kitchen which was useful. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

They didn’t have a very good exchange rate if you had dollars. There was no towel in the kitchen to dry your hands after washing and no oven mitt to grab hot trays from the oven.

I love the hotel, the staff was very friendly and room and the whole hotel was kept in a very good condition, clean and felt at home, there was also a little balcony to chill out and enjoy the wind

It might get super loud from all the vehicles on the street during the night because the property is right on the street XD

The room and facilities were spotless, and Justin was very kind and helpful. I was getting the TicaBus the next morning, so the location was perfect as it was less than 10 mins walk away.

The curtains were a little bit more sheer than I would have liked, although this didn’t affect my sleep.
