The overall look of the hotel is old fashioned but quite authentic. We had 4 comfortable night in a large twin room with a great view of the city rooftops. The hotel is located on the 6th floor of an apartment building. The lift was reliable as well as ornately decorative with cast ironwork. Everything was lovely and very clean. 3 x shared shower/bathrooms were available to serve the guest rooms. However, desk staff informed me the owner had ‘taken’ the bath plug away to prevent guests from having a bath which seemed a bit miserly if I’m honest. I could have done with a bit of a soak after a long day walking round the city! The electric showers were powerful, hot and also immaculately clean. We were also pleasantly surprised to find free breakfast items each day as well as coffee and tea making facilities available throughout the day and night. There was also a small library of books for guests’ use.

I didn’t like that fact I couldn’t have a bath ☹️

The location is perfect to meet Bologna, it is just a center. Impressive building, well designed small lobby, clean, parquet floor. You feel the history here. The shared bathroom is very clean, there was no problem to use it at all. They offer cofffee machine and serve a small breakfast also: juice, water, teabags, croissants, etc.

There is one problem, which prevented to give a higher rating: 1. The elevator. It is an old model, you have to close inner doors properly when you go out of it. If this not done, the elavator stays in "occupied" position. And because guests don't know this rule, and the hotel staff is at the 4th floor, the elevator is not reachable. We faced this problem several times upon arrival and them coming back the future day. And the floors are very high...So one can imagine how it feels like to climb stairs to the 4th floor ( it is actually 5th, with ga gallery) with suitcases.. I think the hotel managenemt should update future guests about this small but very important detail...

Big and clean room.

The man in the reception is not so helpful. I asked knife he said there is no knife, but in the breakfast how can i cut apple. and I asked restaurant reservation he did not it.

I liked that it was in the center of Bologna, a bus station right near by. It was quaint - definitely not a modern cookie cutter hotel! The room was spacious for 4 of us - There was a queen sized bed and two singles that worked out great for us. While i was a little apprehensive booking a room with shared bathrooms, it worked out just fine. There were 3 very clean bathrooms and I was always able to use one at any given time. The showers were great. I liked the price as well. The staff was great. I also liked that there was an elevator/lift.

The evening was one of the first warmer evenings of the year in spring, but the air conditioning was not available as of yet for the season.

Old-school style lodgings--simple, clean rooms, homey decor, like staying in the apartment of Italian grandparents. Reminds me of visiting Europe 30+ years ago (in a good way). Very friendly staff, nice view from room. Room had a large closet, sink, and small safe, breakfast in the morning in the reception area, easy walking distance to great food and attractions. Bathrooms were shared but spotless and large.

Information about how to find the entrance and use the elevator. (Hotel entrance is on the 4th floor.) Bed was a bit hard for my taste, but that's a personal preference. A bit noisy from other guests in the hallway--bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper!

We had a great stay in this hotel, all the staff was extremely nice and kind. They gave us an upgraded room with no charge -the room was lovely, with the high ceilings, the mini fridge, the sofas and the old charming furniture-. Also stored our luggage before the check in, and booked a taxi for us to leave early in the morning the last day. They offered a nice sefl-service continental breakfast every morning. The shared bathrooms (well equipped, with air dryers) were cleaned often during the day. The room was huge and clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Despite the great centric location there was no noise at night. We'll stay again when we go back to Bologna.

We liked everything.

We love this type of traditional European hotel, and so we really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were simple yet perfectly comfortable and spacious enough for us and our family (2 + 2 teenagers), the shared bathrooms were kept nice and clean and there were easily enough of them. The hotel had a really nice and welcoming feel about it and the staff were all lovely and friendly. The location is really excellent, and the simple yet plentiful breakfast was a nice surprise. Top floor of a beautiful old Bologna building and so we enjoyed using the antique elevator too.

Big clean rooms, located very centrally. 2 bathrooms for approx 6 rooms, as it was not fully occupied, there were no wait times. Breakfast was left in the lobby to take, sweet pastries and juice. Very kind and attentive receptionists.

Doors dont fit properly, you can only slam them shut which makes a lot of noise that neighbors can hear. On top there is construction work just below the windows on the street, they started at 7 am on a Sunday, horrible noise in the room.

Everything! We loved this place. The rooms were spacious, clean and cosy! The personnel was amazing. They kindly let us drop our backpacks for a comfortable last walk in Bologna. The hotel is in the historical centre. We thank you very much! The bathrooms despite being for common use were exceptionally clean and very goos smelling. They had a very generous breakfast of pastries and coffee.

Amazing location in the centre. The building and hotel rooms are beautiful, classically Italian, amazing old lift. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms always spotlessly clean. Had no problem sharing bathrooms as they were always free when needed and clean. Our room was quiet but faced the back street, so may be noisier if you were facing the Main Street. Very helpful staff. Simple breakfast of pastry and fruit but that was all we needed. Would definitely stay again!
