Location. Roominess. Hot tub on sight. Jacuzzi in room. Layout of rooms.

Hard beds. Icemaker didn't work. Told staff, didn't offer to fix. One nice size shower with seating and fancy sprays BUT, poor drainage--need a different grate to catch hair. Dining table made for tall people, hurt edge of arms and I'm 5'7". If chairs were higher, would've been better. Water slide was not up and running as perceived in description saying mid may. Also, seemed to be meant for only kids. Looked bigger in pictured advertisement of it. Staff called to warn me of personnel was coming in room to fix a/c which i was unaware of any problem. Overall, loved the room. The uncomfortable beds were the only REAL disappointment. Would've been nice to have shuffleboard, bocce ball, horseshoes as outside activities.

Overall it was a great time.

There was no explanation for the temporary parking pass, I was just told to come in the next day for one. When I returned to get a new pass there were only 2 people behind the counter servicing two people while myself and another guess waited patiently, almost 10 minutes, only to get to the counter and be told to see the other person for the presentation services, so again we had to wait in line behind the people again. So initially if I was told where to return to get a new pass or some sign that said to get permanent parking pass would have been great to save time.

We recently had a wonderful stay at The Colonies at Williamsburg just before Memorial Day, and we can't recommend it enough, especially for families with young children. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally pleasant, always friendly during check-in and check-out, and very helpful with any questions we had. Our apartment-style room was truly a highlight. It was spotlessly clean and wonderfully quiet, which was a huge relief with two kids under two! The layout was incredibly accommodating, featuring a nice, spacious kitchen and living area, perfect for spreading out. We also loved having a private balcony, a cozy fireplace, and beautiful bathrooms that included both a relaxing tub and a convenient walk-in shower. The overall feeling was very much like a home away from home. The resort's amenities were fantastic. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were great, providing plenty of fun for everyone. Our toddlers especially enjoyed the small, toddler-friendly park with a slide – a perfect spot for them to burn off some energy safely. The grounds were also lovely for walking, offering a pleasant environment for a stroll with the little ones. The location is also ideal, being very close to Colonial Williamsburg, making it easy to explore the historical area. Not far from Newport News and only a little over an hour drive from Virginia Beach. Overall, our experience at The Colonies at Williamsburg was outstanding. The clean, quiet, and well-equipped rooms, coupled with the accommodating staff and great amenities, made for a truly enjoyable and stress-free family vacation. We highly recommend staying here, particularly if you're traveling with kids!

Price , very budget friendly. Good location . Not far from the attractions Friendly staff BBQs on premise so you can have your own bbq. Suite was huge and very comfortable for family. Huge living room and kitchen , 2 bathrooms . You can save money by cooking in nice kitchen with appliances as well as dishwasher. They even supply you with dishes , silverware., glassware.

Outside pool area was closed, weather was hot during stay . Indoor pool was a bit crowded due to outside one closed. Unsupervised and hyper kids where splashing water everywhere, seemed like staff was absent. Parking spots a bit tight .batteries in remote dvd player not working but I brought and left my own . Walk up no elevator with luggage

We loved the unit. it was very spacious and perfect for our family of 5. The fireplace was an extra added touch. The indoor pool was great and my kids really enjoyed it on the day that it rained.

We were not happy with sitting through the time share presentation, but we decided to do it to be informed and if anything get free Busch Gardens tickets. I was very disappointed with the time that it took however. We were told 90 minutes and it turned in to 2 and a half hours with our 3 kids having to wait. It was a huge inconvenience, especially since we did say no about 70 mins in and they continued to badger us.

The pool was really nice and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were very spacious and the grounds in general were really nice. The amount of dog baskets and or bag drops ares was really great.

There really wasnt too many amenities compared to other spots in the area. We had to often go upto the front desk for anything we needed for refill and the day we arrived there was a solid leak in the building that lasted most of our stay which was frustrating with noise and the amount of water in the bottom floor.

Although we weren’t able to stay at The Colonies due to an unexpected room issue (a flood), the staff handled the situation promptly and professionally. They immediately arranged accommodations for us at their sister property, which was also very nice. We still had full access to all the amenities at The Colonies, including the pool and other facilities. The team went above and beyond to make things right, even offering us four free nights as a gesture of goodwill. We were truly impressed by the level of customer service and how smoothly everything was resolved. Highly recommend!

The condo was clean and confortable, and had most things needed to cook and clean. Bathrooms were fully stocked and clean. Beds were comfortable. Woods in the back provided a nice view. Beautiful and convenient property.

Some things like cable TV book didn't work initially. Maintenence did fix it in 2 rooms, but the master bedroom one didnt work throughout our stay. The indoor pool was accessible and clean, but was off gassing chlorine, so wasn't very enjoyable. We had planned for most activities outside so these were just minor inconveniences for us.

Great place to stay! Clean and spacious units, fully stocked kitchen, great choice of channels on TV. Pool, outdoor “water park” and the hot tub are all huge and well maintained! The amenities are also open until 10pm, which is a plus! 15-20 min drive to Busch Gardens and a 5 min drive to Food Lion if you need snacks/groceries.

Very early checkout (10am) and they ask you to strip the beds, take out trash, and load the dishwasher before you leave. All reasonable requests, but 11am checkout would be more appropriate with these extra housekeeping tasks.

Check in was very easy the guest services ladies were very welcoming and professional. As soon as we got to our room I instantly smelled how clean it was! I stayed in the two bedroom suite. It was very very clean like I'm picky and OCD! The room was a nice size for my family of 5. Indoor swimming pool was nice! I really liked how kind,attentive,professional, and classy guest services were! Exceptional customer service I will be back. Also quiet property not loud at all enjoyed my visit.
