Clean, friendly staff, good food and a good bar. The room was massive, as was the bed and was clean. Had everything you need.
Breakfast buffet could maybe improve but wasn’t terrible

The staff were lovely, particularly in the bar. Last night we were ravenous after a 20km mountain hike, and they went to a special effort to make sure we were well fed, as we almost missed the time to order dessert but they went and asked the chef especially for us. We really appreciated this and the desserts were delicious! Very clean rooms, nice and spacious and comfy beds. It was lovely to have a dip in the pool and jacuzzi after a long day of hiking too.
Slightly tired in places and could do with an upgrade. The walk up the hill felt quite long after a day of travelling or hiking, it's about 15 mins but that meant it was a nice view from the hotel window.

Well organised and well maintained. Reception staffed and helpful. Great view. Good breakfast choice. Good sized pool. Dinner very good and sensible set menu price. Outdoor areas with plenty seating. Spacious room and even our son's single room was fine. Hotel was apparently busy but didn't feel busy; no queues for coffee machine at breakfast, plenty places to sit, changing room quiet and had pool to ourselves so all very relaxed.
Upstairs decor and to some extent the foyer very tired and frankly old fashioned ( a bit 50s and 70s) rather than "traditional." Saturday night there was a live singer; very talented but too loud to be optional so we retreated to the garden so we could talk too as we didn't really want a live show ( if you did she was very good). There was another public room as an option.

Lovely traditional hotel in a beautiful setting. Our room ( room 5) was huge and had very modern new furnishings. My adult son and I had a great sleep in the twin beds. Very comfortable and good quality linen. Bathroom was new and very clean. Great shower with very good pressure and soap/ bodywash smelled lovely. The room was on the ground floor beside the leisure centre and pool, so after 5pm there was no traffic past it and at night we couldn't hear a thing! Staff were smashing from Stephen on reception to the bar staff/ serving staff in the restaurant. All were very pleasant, chatty, helpful and hardworking. We had dinner one night in the restaurant. Very good standard of food and service. Would definitely eat there again. Overall, we would happily stay again in this very pleasant hotel. We would get a Superior room, same as this time, as it was modern, cosy and spacious with a great bathroom. Parking was good and close to the hotel doors, although since the hotel was full when we stayed, it filled up fast and I think some guests didn't move their cars the whole weekend, possibly so that they were certain of a parking space to avoid having to park down in the town...which is at the bottom of a very steep hill. The hotel's elevated position in beautiful gardens means it has great views, but the walk back up from the town, if you venture there without your car, might prove a bit strenuous for less able bodied folk. Notwithstanding this, we would certainly stay again. Smashing short break in a very nice traditional old hotel. Thanks, guys! Great stay overall!
Nothing...apart from the walk back up the steep hill after we ate in the town on our second night. Probably just cos I'm so unfit as my son got up it no bother! We got some funny photos of me looking knackered halfway up :) Nothing else really to dislike, though as a woman who likes to do her make up sitting at the dressing table, I'd suggest an additional table lamp on the unit which has the mirror, as the lighting was a bit weak for this task. Maybe an uplighter, too? It's a huge room, so it would benefit from a wee bit more light in the early morning/ evenings. However, the lighting in the bathroom was great! Would stay longer next time for sure.

Good location near the centre of Pitlochry. Easy access from train station. Friendly staff at reception. In the bar and for breakfast Modern rooms beautifully decorated. Everything we needed. Coffee machine was a nice touch in the room Bar had a good stock of drinks at excellent prices Buffet styke bteakfast good range to choose from and good price all in Nice to come to the hotel for our 40th wedding anniversary. We stayed here on our honeymoon
Black pudding would have been a nice addition at breakfast Suggest if coming by train with bags may need to get taxi up to hotel as it was a good walk uphill, or the hotel could provide a collection service at a small cost. Maybe highlight this on check in instructions

With a half board night booking, we had a good dinner and breakfast at the restaurant which looks nice and clean. The staff was attentive and kind. Our beds were comfortable despite their tired aspect (cf what we didn’t like).
Despite good looking pictures, the rooms and general aspect of the hotel (except the restaurant and bar) clearly look tired and need renovation. In the old bathroom, the tap was very hard to close and leaking. The bedroom carpet looked aged and not so clean. The hall leading to the rooms had a bad smell. We didn’t try the pool as some people commented that it also needed a refreshment.

Beautiful country house setting with well-tended garden and plenty of outdoor seating. Spacious modern bar and sitting areas with large screen TVs screening sport. We had a free upgrade to a suite with relaxing views across the countryside. Room was well decorated and bathroom modern. Quiet location with no passing traffic. Ate in the bar, service was excellent and food good (last orders 8.15pm when we stayed). Indoor swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi were a nice touch (last entry at 7pm closes at 8pm). Excellent front of house who looked after all guests at reception. Dog friendly too!
Could have done with some road signs on the way up through the last few turns after a long journey! Our mattress was soft which won’t suit everyone.

Excellent room with scenic view - hills beyond the houses. Room had two bits - living room and bedroom with four poster bed. Very nice. Our adult son had a single room - looked large enough with everything in it. Wifi worked. Very nice breakfast
We had prepaid dinner and this was quite poor. Pleasant room and nice staff but poor choice of poor quality food. Only three choices for starter, main and dessert. Main choice was chicken (a bit tough), fishcake or vegetarian - there was an extra menu for a supplement but £23 for steak (bear in mind this is a supplement in addition to the cost of your meal) was somewhat dear. If we stayed here again we would go down to Pitlochry for dinner.

The breakfasts were very good, with plenty of choice and local options. Our room was a good size and the bathroom had been quite recently refurbished. It was worth the extra cost for a room with a view, and the hotel has good options to upgrade if they are not full. Parking was plentiful and easy and the beer garden was a pleasant place to sit. Given the age and style of the hotel, we expected, but liked, the slightly faded glory of the place.
The food in the bar and the restaurant was acceptable but was not amazing, and the choice of beers was disappointing. The walk into town is short but quite steep and could be challenging.

Reception staff were welcoming and courteous and arranged things very conveniently for us. The room was very comfortable, clean, and bright. We had a very tasty and well presented dinner in the restaurant. Although the waitress seemed to be doing all the work on her own everything went smoothly and the food arrived piping hot.
The drain in the wash-hand basin in our room was blocked. It did drain eventually but we avoided using it as much as possible. The over bath shower was tricky to figure out but worked well once it was going. Stepping in and out of the bath with the fixed shower door was a bit risky, despite the hand-holds, and there was insufficient hanging space for damp towels.
