Position. Good room and beds.

Large bus groups seem to have priority at breakfast. Poor selection of non cooked items eg. fruit, cereal, etc , almost non existent when private guests were allotted late times Bathroom cleaning could have been better with water from shower not being cleaned up. ‘Toiletries’ non existent

We liked the location, the parking,which was charged, but a lot cheaper than other city centre hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the hotel and rooms clean, I found the bed and pillows were comfy. They provide a very good breakfast and the evening meal ,we had on the night we ate in, was really good. There's a nice little bar and a lounge looking over the river, very nice outlook.All in all a really pleasant stay.

Small niggle the seats in the lounge weren't very comfy but that doesn't detract from a very nice hotel.

The breakfast was good, the staff pleasant, the view of the river lovely and entrance and reception very nice. Lift at the entrance for less mobile. Close to the centre and it's attractions. Near a lovely Italian restaurant and lots of places to eat and drink across the river within sight. 10 minute walk from the station. Hand wash and shower gel provided. Bed made and hospitality tray refilled. Enough storage and hangers for a couple of days. Bed a bit too soft but still comfy and quite large. Had 3rd floor river view room. Pleasant lounge with decent prices for drinks, bit small and can get quite busy. Would stay here again as near to everything without being noisy.

Minor things but still worth noting, not enough power points in the room, 1 socket, or 2 if you unplug the tv, need updating on that score. Bath was chipped and looked uninviting, shower was very stiff and tricky to work for older hands.

Great location and easy to get to from the station. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. All the staff were also very friendly.

I was originally booked in a previously-smoking room and even though it had been completely refurbished and had become a non-smoking room over 6 months ago, I could still smell the smell of tobacco as I am quite sensitive to it. However, I went down and mentioned it to reception and the manager and receptionist were very understanding about it and offered me a new room straight away and it was great, so the service and attentiveness of the staff were really good.

The dreadful noise from the pubs. late into the night and into the early hours of the morning. We requested a room overlooking the river, but this was a mistake. On our last evening (24th July) there was an incident opposite concerning a river boat which I am reporting to the Yorkshire Tourist Board and the City Police. The hotel staff were sympathetic but could do nothing to prevent this. Sadly, we would not choose this hotel again because of the problems stated. I wish to contact Booking.com for a partial refund.

This hotel is well located allowing easy access to the sites that most visitors come to York to see. We were fortunate to be able to secure a parking space (limited number available) in the parking level below the hotel, though we did not know this as we did not receive a response to the email that communicated to the hotel that we wished to reserve one of those spots (they had received the request and allocated a spot, but hadn't responded back). Bathroom, room, bed, etc. were all respectable. One minor annoyance was that there were no convenient electrical outlets near the head of the bed to which you could plug in laptop/Ipad or similar while lying in bed. While many of the locations we have stayed in the UK over a two-week holiday seemed to be recently refurbished, the QH has not. York was really partying hard the two nights we were there, but on the Queens Hotel side of the river, it was very peaceful.

Great location. Staff welcoming. We had a nice room.I love that the windows open as I hate air conditioning. Great to have a bath as I walk a lot and like a relaxing bath after. Room temperature was fine. Pleased that the menu changed daily so we ate in the restaurant all three nights. Also I requested natural yogurt at breakfast and it wasn't a problem. Liked the book swap cupboard. Nice idea. The lounge overlooking the River was a lovely place to sit and relax.

Found the pillows uncomfortable at first. Bit hard for me. However I requested an extra one and it seemed softer. I do have joint problems though so I'm really just used to my configuration at home.

The location of this hotel is really lovely, on the river, at one end of the city. The hotel is cosy, clean and in good decorative order. There are some very friendly and welcoming staff. The assistant manager is extremely professional and helpful.

Our initial welcome was very underwhelming but we did receive a phone call, after departure, from the receptionist to apologise for her manner, which was nice. The young members of restaurant/bar staff are in need of a lot of customer service training. We were very unhappy with the service we received on our first night dinner and first morning breakfast. The second and third morning breakfasts were a delight, as there were 2 very competent restaurant staff working. We requested a quiet room but our door opened onto the corridor to the restaurant/bar. Probably the noisiest room in the whole hotel!

We ended up in this hotel at the very last moment because the hotel we had booked offered us a suffocating room at the basement, awful even if you are not claustrophobic (it's Judges Court in case you are interested). So we had to take whatever was available. We found The Queen's was available and called them to be sure. They said there was a room available for our dates and even advised us to book it on booking.com because we would find it cheaper there! The room was very spacious, on the 3rd floor, clean and super convenient. The location is great (I guess even better if you get a room looking at the river) and the staff super helpful and nice. Would definitely come back!

The room was lovely, comfortable and clean.

The buffet breakfast was very basic with only tinned peaches apart from Sunday then there was a fresh fruit salad and fresh melon and only fruit yogurt to eat with the fruit instead of natural. The scrambled egg was lovely on Sunday but hard on the Saturday. My friend is vegan and felt that there should have been a larger notice saying about the vegan porridge near the fruit and croissants instead of at the station where the eggs and bacon were being served. These are only observations as we had a lovely time but just thought for the price the quality of the breakfast could have been better.
