All staff we spoke to were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day ahead. Dinner was tasty. Nice snug bar for a pre-dinner drink. Hotel room was clean and spacious with stunning views of the countryside from all windows. Plenty of storage space for clothing. Housekeeping was very efficient. Ample parking on site. Beautiful walk around Pitfour Lake situated behind the hotel. Very close to Aden Country Park. Ideal location for visiting towns, villages and beaches in the North East of Scotland.

The decor in the room and bathroom was a bit tired. Could be done with a lick of paint. The shower was a bit temperamental and not very powerful. Small problem with our lock but it was fixed immediately after reporting it, so very little inconvenience and we got offered a free drink whilst waiting.

Lovely country hotel overnight stay . Spacious and warm room with huge comfortable bed . The staff are exceptional. Every one was friendly attentive and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast was delicious. Freshly cooked tasty and hot. I had advised of a gluten intolerance on booking and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. I didn’t once need to ask for the gluten free options as all staff were aware and didn’t once feel like it was a problem. My husband is not gluten intolerant so we were able to compare the menus and bar one item of each course they were the same!There was even choices for desert which is very unusual. Beautiful walks on the doorstep or the very nearby Aden Country Park. Would highly recommend 😀

Comfy, clean and modern lodge with all equipment you need for a stay with self-catering. There even is a oven, next to microwave. But no dish washer (no problem for us). Bathroom was clean and modern. Comfy bed in the separate bedroom. The hotel was friendly and generous to provide us with bread, butter and milk, although they offered to get breakfast in the hotel if we change our mind. There is a lovely terrace in front of the apartment with view to green lawn. Parking directly next to the lodge. It's a quiet place.

It's a bit tricky to find it, because there is no real address with street name and street number (unusual for Germans), but thanks to the car navigation system, it knows the hotel itself.

We spent four days in the three bedroom cabin and it was perfect for what we wanted. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was reasonably priced and delicious, and the main lodge was lovely. I appreciated all the communication before arriving and couldn't have asked for a better welcome. Our kitchen even included a loaf of delicious bread, jam, milk, butter and chocolates. It was a short walk to peaceful Pitfour lake where I watched swans and jumping fish and then there were the cows--right outside my bedroom window. The location was great with lots of castles, stone circles, and beaches within a short drive. I'd gladly stay here again and for longer.

I can't really think of anything. We couldn't make the DVD player work but that might have been us. We didn't care enough to ask for help.

Stayed overnight while heading north to Shetland with a friend on our motorbikes. Set just back from the road with a large garden the hotel had a traditional, quiet and calm atmosphere both outside and inside. The staff we met were all very friendly and engaging. Our twin room was large, two rooms and a bathroom really, and very clean and comfortable. We ate both dinner and breakfast, all was excellent, with local produce to the fore. We would happily return and recommend.

This property is really beautiful. The room that we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and very nicely furnished. It was a wonderful way to spend my last night in Scotland. We were celebrating my friends 50th and made a reservation in the restaurant for dinner. It was superb! Really delicious and the cocktails were really good too. It was local produce served first class. Breakfast was included in our room rate. They were very generous portions and once again local and/or traditional options. I highly recommend the Scottish breakfast and the porridge! The staff couldn’t be lovelier. Very friendly, helpful and efficient. On check out, one attendant gave us the best tips for a day of exploration. Her choices were perfect and not at all what we would have found in our tourist brochures. If in doubt, ask a local!

I would have loved to stay longer and had time to do some walks around the property.

We loved this hotel, where we stayed for just one night in relation to an equine event we were organising in the area. We had lovely rooms, spacious and comfortable. In our case, we had a good sized bathroom with effective shower. The evening meal was very nice and so was the breakfast, which is cooked to order. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely be back if we had a similar event in the area in future.

We had an amazing stay at Saplinbrae recently. Our room, was very clean and cosy with lovely additions such toiletries, treats and bathrobes. An especially nice touch was the personalised note giving details of our stay and info about the hotel. The log burner in the lounge bar was so nice to sit by in the evening. The food was delicious. Not a single bite passed my lips that I didn’t love. Staff were helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for guests. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed in.

Another wonderful stay at this hotel. The food in the resturant was excellent, breakfast really tasty, great range of options and locally sourced, they catered really well for my lactose intolerance too. Bedroom was large and exceptionally clean, bed itself was huge and very comfortable. Bathroom beautiful with great water pressure. Surroundings are quiet and tranquil. Staff really professional, helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Cosy country lodge with great surroundings. Excellent beds with high quality bedding. Rich cooked breakfast made to order, many options. Comfortable bar sofas at the open fire, very nice to have a Whisky there. Friendly staff. Don’t miss a walk in the fields, approx. 40 mins one way, to find the ancient stone circle!

The window in our room needs some maintenance, it was hard to open and close again.
