A beautifully restored set of buildings offering excellent food, staff, and cleanliness, comfortable bed and lovely shower room, quality tea and coffee with complimentary hand made biscuits....10/10 .. unfortunately our score was diminished due to dogs/dog owners to 7/10
A quality Hotel with excellent facilities...why why why allow dogs into the excellent dining restaurant, yes they where on leads but where allowed to sniff and beg for food with the extending meter after meter lead, this was not all the of the dog owners, but if owners insist on having to bring their dogs with them to eat creat a designated room with access to the garden away from guests who don't care for begging dogs while eating your excellent food. You are a top class establishment offering excellence but dogs in the dining restaurant let's you down.

Our stay at the Maltings was perfect! It was for a one night last minute decision to get away to Norfolk with the nice weather, and it was truly paradise! Comfortable room with all the amenities, a spacious and secluded patio, quiet courtyard drinks and dining area, large lounge for relaxing in. Breakfast outdoors in the sunshine area was very nice, with a good selection of freshly cooked choices and buffet items and excellent service. The location of the hotel in a quaint village within a short walk of the beach can only be described as superb.
I would struggle to think of anything I didn't like. The place and our stay there were ideal.

The key bonus was the fsct that the staff were considerate and attentive without being obsequious. We were not aware of their presence, but they were there whenever we needed assistance. On top of that, everything else was perfect - clean, luxurious, well-designed and convenient. The breakfasts were superb - we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine, but would have been equally at home inside the spacious restaurant. For anyone with a dog, it is difficult to imagine how they could be better catered-for. It is with some trepidation that I write this honestly, because I fear that too many will take advantage of this, such that we will be unable to book on another occasion!
The thought thart we were only booked for one night!

Wonderful in so many ways. From greeting - Rosalind, what a star you are - the rooms, the grounds, the whole feel of the place made us so happy. We had actually stayed the day before in The Feathers hotel in Holt. We were meant to be there for two nights, but really hated the place; so we left a day early (didn't mind losing the money spent) and found The Maltings. Wish we'd stayed there for our whole trip (7 days). Interesting that both places are, I understand, owned by the same group. Dinner Great. Games room! Superb breakfast! I'm not 'allowed' to have a Kipper at home as "it stinks the house out", but I love proper Kippers. Sometimes, if I'm lucky enough to stay in a hotel that offers them, they're often straight out of a tin. Not her though - PROPER KIPPER! So lovely. Honestly. One of the very best places I think we have ever stayed. Better than The Hotel Paris in Monaco. Yes. Really.
Nothing at all.

Excellent location with an easy 10 minute walk to the coastal path at Weybourne beach and direct access to bus services along the coast. Very friendly, helpful staff; very good dining and superb breakfast in the Grain Store restaurant. Attractive and comfortable rooms and relaxation areas - lounge and bar, library. Excellent 'value for money', even without an unexpected free room upgrade on arrival (apparently the hotel's policy when they have a better room available!), which all made for a great stay. We love North Norfolk, and will definitely return to stay at The Maltings.
Nothing.

Loved the look and feel of the hotel - right up my street! Bed was super comfy, food was delicious and I loved the personalised touch of a bag of biscuits in my room with my name on. Products in the bathroom smelt so good…now wish I’d bought some! I was visiting a couple of towns/beaches along the coast, so it was the perfect location for me too. Definitely plan on coming back!!
Only downside for me is that my room was above the cloakroom and I could hear the hand drier when I was in bed. Also, loud guests in the hallway woke me up.

We were so surprised and delighted by this amazing hotel. We'd just booked as part of our journey down the coastal path, but as we arrived we realised it was a stunning place which had only recently finished a full renovation. Our room was gorgeous with loads of thoughtful touches like dog shampoo and a cute bed for the dog (needed after a day running on the beach!), plus a lovely courtyard with blankets, nice drinks facilities and fresh cookies. We really loved our afternoon and evening there - the room was lovely and cosy, and also the restaurant was fantastic with lovely friendly staff, candles, stunning decor and very good food. After food we enjoyed a cocktail and games in the game room - again beautifully decorated and with a very friendly and helpful bartender. Couldn't fault it! Hope we can visit again soon
Loved everything

The Maltings has recently re-opened and is lovely. There are 2 lounges available and a bar. The food at the Grain Store is delicious. My room (6) was small but very comfortable. It was well equipped with tea/coffee/fresh milk etc and very nice crockery, but it would be a squeeze for 2 people. Weybourne beach (shingle) is a short walk away.
It would be useful to have something to hang the hand towel on, and somewhere to put the hand soap to stop it sliding around. If the room was always only for one, it could probably just accommodate a small chair which would be useful for sitting on and for putting clothes on.

The staff were fab and extremely helpful. The food was excellent, so much choice for breakfast and very very fresh. Plenty of easy parking. Lovely large room. Very close to the beach.
There was nothing we didn't like because the hotel is just so lovely. However the surcharge for the dogs is quite steep £15 per dog per night. So if we were to stay for a 5 day break that would mean £150 just for our dogs to stay with us. This also doesn't show up on booking.com so it is a surprise once your there. We would still definitely return for a couple of days.

Breakfast was very good with a lovely selection of food. The proper coffee machine and fresh milk in the room was great. Bed was comfortable and the supplied toiletries were superb and plentiful.
Not such a great wine selection. The Sunday roast was very dried out BUT I did order it late afternoon and it certainly wasn't fresh. I sent it back and ordered something else. The waitress also brought the wrong wine. The dining experience wasn't great but overall a very nice place to stay.
