Beach Experience: The beach was truly excellent, with crystal-clear waters and a very safe environment for swimming. However, during high tide, small patches of rocks became visible and occasionally caused discomfort. Meals: While we did not have dinner at the property, the continental breakfast was exceptional, offering a wide variety of delicious choices.

Accommodation: Unfortunately, the booking details on Booking.com were misleading. Instead of a standalone accommodation, it turned out to be an apartment with three rooms that we had to share with other guests. Thankfully, there was no disturbance from the other guests, so it didn’t impact our experience significantly. I hope this feedback helps improve guest satisfaction and booking transparency for future stays.

If you are not used to seeing third world countries or knowing what poverty looks like, then Zanzibar will give you lots perspective. I really liked where Mnarani cottages are situated. It was nice being away from the busy beach on the west side. People don't come and bother you to sell you stuff the whole time. Which can be really tiresome after some time. But that being said it is also incredibly easy and quick to get to that side if you want to. So best of both. During low tide you can go for long walks or runs and during high tide you can swim from the resort. I suggest walking on the East side of the beach if you don't want to be bothered by people. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. The food and drinks are sold in dollars which can get expensive if your home currency is not as strong. I suggest going to restaurants that sell food in shillings. All the seafood is great. There are no real shops/“supermarkets” so we only ate at restaurants which can increase your budget. Draw all your cash at the airport! There is only 1 ATM we could find behind and like 100m to the right of the restaurant Mamma Mia.

I think for some people the breakfast might not have enough variety, but we always had enough to eat and never left the breakfast table feeling hungry.

Great location, right on the beach with stunning view. It’s a little bit out of the way from the west coast of Nungwi, which is more crowded and touristy. For us this was an advantage, as beach here was more peaceful, and there were not so many «beach boys» in the area. The outside area of the hotel was great with palm trees, sun beds and hammocks. Simply perfect for a relaxing day at the beach. The staff was wonderful and really was one of the best things about this hotel!

The restaurant/food was descent, but could have been better for the price level. You need to walk ~25 minutes to get to the restaurants on the west coast, although there are some restaurants closer to the hotel. The standard room are basic, but had everything we required. The mattress and pillows were a little bit hard, and there were no fridge in the room. However, guests are not allowed to bring alcohol into the premises, so all drinks needs to be purchased in the bar.

We loved everything about Mnarani Beach Cottages beach resort! The rooms were clean and sanitized daily, and the beautiful garden featured a nice pool. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere delightful, and the beach views offered endless turquoise waters. It's great for relaxing—so peaceful! If you are looking for a quiet place on the beach with a minimum of tourists around, this is a great choice. You can enjoy all-day views of the ocean from the wooden deck, or you can easily walk everywhere from this location. Explore restaurants, the tourist area nearby, or simply discover the wilderness of the beaches on the northeast coast. You can also choose from one of the trips offered if you like adventures. The hotel's beach bar and restaurant are great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee breaks (the coffee was really great!) and fresh smoothies. We stayed 8 nights at the end of November, and it was really hard to leave. Thank you, Margret (the manager), Nassor (the owner), and all the hotel staff! They went above and beyond to make us feel more than welcome and were very helpful whenever we needed something. This place far surpassed our expectations. Our stay at Mnarani was exceptional from the very first moment we received a warm and special welcome from the team. The staff's attention to detail and professionalism made us feel right at home, with a particular shout-out to the team in the bar and lounge area. We were a group of 8, including 3 children, spending Christmas in a completely different environment for the first time. The staff ensured we felt at home, making our Christmas evening truly wonderful. We would like to extend our special thanks to Fatima, Nassor, Andrew, Mahmoud, Khaamis, Amour, and Ally. This place is perfect for those seeking comfort, hospitality, and service that goes above and beyond expectations. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning

Wonderful Stay at Mnarani Beach Cottages We had an amazing stay at Mnarani Beach Cottages. The staff was incredibly hospitable and always ready to help. A special thanks to Fatima and Zubeir, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They even took us to a local event, where they took great care of us and made sure we had a wonderful evening. We truly appreciate their kindness and warm hospitality. They were always available with advice and a smile – thank you so much! Additionally, the cottages were super clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was great, the view was stunning, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

What an incredible place! Stayed 13 nights in november. Very nice hotel on the quiet part of Nungwi. Staff was so friendly. Ali in the reception kept track on everything, and was very service minded. Andrew was our go to guy, he fixed everything we asked for, and made very good coctails in the bar. We ate several lunches and dinners at the Hotel, and the curries became our favorite. Gina served us dinner and drinks, always happy, and asking about our day. Be aware of the big changes in tides! Swimming is only possible between high and low tide. Taxi to Kendwa Beach on the westcoast, is an alternative. Pool was very nice, and cleaned several times a day. Room was cleaned every day, with new towels and sheets. Bugnet around bed, but no mosquitoes in the room. This was a very pleasant stay, and the staff very friendly and polite. We would come back any day!

Beach resort next to the lighthouse. Comfortable room and bathroom, bar is overlooking the ocean. Ocean view room has a nice terrace to relax. The so called annoying beach boys are not interested even as a solo women, if you express a solid NO and you dress properly.

Swimmingpool rather small and crowded as swimming in the ocean is not always an option (currents, strong winds, tides). Breakfast and food in restaurant could be better in view of what you pay for it.

The place is a paradise. located at the very north of the island, next to the lighthouse. Very nice setting on the beach with lush vegetation and a nice swimming pool. Superb view from the room (we had a king bed room in the new building on the right side - I guess that's their best rooms at the moment). Room was very nice and spacious, bed very comfy, balcony superb. Breakfast was good, staff was very friendly. Restaurant was ok, a bit pricey tho. So just keep in mind that the place is a bit far from everything else turistic in Nungwi - we had a scooter, but without it we'd have to take a tuk tuk or walk a long way everytime we wanted to go someplace else - so if you're gonna mostly be juet chilling here it's perfect, but if you want to be more in the centre of everything, it's better to find a place on the western part of Nungwi. Overall we were very happy with the plave and would stay here again.

The first nigh we got two single beds instead of a queen bed which we booked so we had to change the next day. In the next room our phone wasn't working and they weren't able to fix it for 3 days. Restaurant and coffee was a bit pricey. Exchange rate (2800 TZS for 1 USD) was unfair (everywhere else it was 2700) and credit card surcharge was 3% (could be lower).
