Room large and good seating. Good views. Able to adjust the heating so ensure we were not cold during the cold snap. Good walk-in shower. Pub warm lovely, nice atmosphere and great beer. The village itself was great and people friendly. Good breakfast choices too.
We didn’t eat at the pub as the menu limited for non-meat eaters. We weren’t able to park in the car park as it was small and full. This wasn’t an issue as there is on-street parking which is free and we found a space right beside the pub but could have had to walk some way with luggage if we hadn’t been so fortunate. (Perhaps have reserved parking for overnight guests with cars?)

Good choice for breakfast. Room spotless and bed very comfortable but being on the ground floor with the upper window fixed to an open position, it was very noisy with people leaving the establishments and getting in to vehicles all evening and into the early hours. Dinner menu disappointing in that whilst there was a good choice in print, the reality was a lot of the items were not available. The menu should be revised to reflect this as it made for a poor selection.

Very friendly staff particularly Jamie, Tony and Kerys who made you feel very welcome. Our room no 17 was in a separate building 50 metres down the road , it had incredible views , large comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. We had our dog with us and even a doggy hamper from the Canine Menu was waiting for him , lovely touch. Homemade shortbread, little crab chocolates all the extras say how much the staff want to please. We were room only but ate three times at The Seagate , food was good and the Devon breakfast was excellent! Appledore is a perfect place for a traditional English seaside holiday, quaint , craft shops , lovely cafes, children crabbing on the quay .
There wasn’t anything to dislike about the property the only disappointment we had was the cleaning of our bathroom could have been better , we stayed for 4 nights.

The location of the hotel is splendid being right by the sea in the centre of the town, with the bus stop just outside. Buses were available every hour into nearby towns, which was ideal for us. All the staff we met were cheerful and helpful. The restaurant/bar area was always busy, buzzing and atmospheric, which was very pleasant. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We were very pleased with our stay and intend to come back in the near future
I cannot suggest anything

The room was spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the annexe 50m from the main hotel. The modern rooms were comfortable and they looked after us very well. We had a small dog with us and they made him feel very welcome. they even supplied a doggy bed and a doggy hamper on our arrival which was a nice tough. The restaurant was busy but had a good selection of food and it is situated in the perfect place overlooking the estuary. We were able to eat outside whilst watching the local entertainment perform across the road.
Maybe a little expensive for a pint of soda and lime £3.50, but other than that we enjoyed our stay throughout.

Our room in the Quay was excellent. Fabulous Estuary View, spacious and well furnished. Excellent bathroom.
Noise from building work on adjacent property, out of control of hotel but perhaps we could have been warned and offered choice of a different room. We had intended to eat in restaurant on our first night, but the Specials were not available and neither of our choices on the main menu were available either. The breakfast service could be improved if orders for cooked breakfast were taken when tea/coffee delivered to the table, we ended up with a long wait. Cooked breakfast was good when it came except for toast which was barely browned

Dinner was good and breakfast was excellent. Staff were pleasant despite being very busy. They could do with more it seemed. Bedroom was fine. Setting great.
The car park is small therefore we had to pay to park overnight which was £10 more on top of our stay. Additionally it is 'company' policy to charge £50 as a deposit which we were told was just a holding one and nothing would be taken. That's not the case it's taken as 'pending'.

The Seagate is right on the front in Appledore. It is a warm attractively furnished pub hotel. We were really happy with our room which overlooked the sea with a floor length shuttered window. It was nice to sit reading looking out of the window. Lovely bath and Brantley toiletries.
A few car parking spaces but we had to park in a public car park across the road. This was in a very convenient spot though so that was fine.

Great location on sea front. Very dog friendly. Lovely staff, very friendly, went out of their way to seat us out of the way with our very nervous dog when we ate our meals, which was appreciated 😊 Rooms were clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Dog bowls etc, in the room. Food was fantastic and breakfast was amazing. Managed to park on site on first night, but public parking was only over the road, so really wasn’t an issue the following night. Would definitely return. Thank you
Nothing!

I was really happy with my room, which was in the annexe. The extras provided were of excellent quality. I enjoyed the food I ate there. Staff were friendly.
Having appreciated the room and extras provided, I did understand the need for the £50 holding fee, which was charged on check in. However, check-in is the first experience you have of the hotel and I think the hotel should review the way they present it to customers.
