The lovely lady who checked us in, (the owner I think) looked after us so well. We arrived late after a flight delay and missing the last ferry,, very tired and hungry! Although the property doesn’t have a restaurant or bar, she ordered us in pasta and nachos, and gave us beers and her own personal wine! The bungalow style rooms were basic but perfect for a one night stay, very clean, with toiletries, huge bed, balcony to sit with a couple of drinks, they even have an outdoor pool if you wanted to stay longer, unfortunately we had to rush off early the next morning.

This is a perfect stay especially if en route or from Isla Holbox. The accommodation is really picturesque and clean. The hut has everything you need for a short stay and was great value for money for myself and my mother. The owner was great, so helpful and kind. We had a private taxi from Cancun airport due to arriving there late and he was quite pushy with regards to also wanting a tip. She helped us and said we didn't need to pay if not happy, comfortable and definitely because he asked us outright. She made us hot drinks in the morning and booked us a mototaxi down to the ferry in the morning. But you could walk if you had light luggage and were more able. The hut did get a bit chilly at night but she did warn us of this and you can get additional blankets if needed. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked this very last minute as all the ferry's to Holbox had shut down due to extreme weather. When we arrived the owner was very friendly, helpful and nice to talk to. She gave us a lot of information and guided us to a restaurant in town. We felt like we could go to her for help or questions and she made us feel safe in the extreme conditions. We did not use the pool due to the weather, but it looked beautiful and they were hard at work cleaning debris out of it the next day. The room was a nice size and clean. The bed and bedding were comfortable and there was a place to hang clothes. Bonus was a hammock - we did not use. The bathroom was very nice too. We did not shower as the water went out in the morning and we left right when it came back, but the towels were plenty and there was soap and shampoo. Fresh coffee in the morning was wonderful - thank you!

The room was pretty bare with only a bed and no place to put your luggage. Perhaps a luggage stand (or 2) or a chair would be a nice addition. The location was on the edge of town, but it was only a 10-12 minute walk to the water. We didn't mind as it was nice to see the stores along the way and say hi to the people who live there.

Luis is incredibly helpful and I found it helpful that he spoke English as well as Spanish. Yalahau exceeded my expectations as the pool was lovely and the bungalows were comfy despite being basic. Breakfast was basic (coffee, toast and jam) but Luis made the only crisp toast I've had in Mexico in a month. Everywhere else gives you clammy, soggy stuff. The location is good, just a short walk to town or a taxi/tuktuk if you have luggage was 40 or 50 pesos. Yalahau is good value for money vs others in the area.

It would be really nice if wifi worked in the rooms, but at least it was good in reception.

Very nice place, quiet, clean and close to the pier. I came late in the evening but the place owner who was so kind with me, she was there to welcome me. I do recommend if you want to stay in a calm and peaceful place before getting the ferry to holbox in the morning.

Friendly staff, free parking while we then stayed in Holbox. Honestly, probably better than most accommodation in Holbox. Great value.

We had a standard villa. No frills but suited the purpose perfectly as we got in on a later flight and needed a place to stay so we could catch an early ferry to Holbox. Nothing negative.

This place is fabulous. I was upgraded to a cabana facing the pool, and ended up booking two extra nights. It’s located at the edge of town, so you are not bothered by the hustle & bustle and noise of travellers inn the ferry to Holbox. The staff were exceptionally professional and took pride in excellent service. I asked the hotel cleaning staff to only clean the bathroom my last night, but they didn’t like seeing my bed not perfectly made, so cleaned the entire place (mopping, everything)! They even put up a hammock for me on my porch since I was a bit sick from dodgy tacos (always say “without mayonnaise”).

This is a beautiful oasis that gives off a sense and vibe of luxury. Far enough from the port to feel super quiet, yet only about a 7-10 min walk to the port and ferries. Carola was super sweet and helpful. The rooms/villas are super spacious with a very comfy bed and big bathroom. All with beautiful details. The pool areas is nice and everything is very well tended to. They offer coffee, fruits and cookies in the morning. Loved it all and would definitely stay again. Thank you Carola for the upgrade, we enjoyed it.

Very minor detail, would be really nice to have a small/mini fridge and a couple of cups in the room.

Very (very) clean hotel with nice rooms, pool and great owner helping you with all your requests. Perfect stop before going to Holbox. Parking is free for guests during your stay in Holbox (not sure why people claim it is not …)

No breakfast possible but great opportunities in resto El Puerto in the Center of the town

Really nice place with super friendly and helpful staff. Great location for the Holbox ferry and they even let you leave your car on site for the time you are on Holbox. Delicious and healthy breakfast including fruit grown on site (they gave us a delicious Mamey to take with us which we had for breakfast on Holbox a few days later). Would recommend to anyone who is going to Holbox and arrives too late to get the ferry on the same day (like us).

The neighbour’s rooster likes to wake up pretty early and start making noise - this is to be expected in any rural area like this though.
