- The location of El Minzah is really fantastic and close to every thing. You are in the heart of Tangier and all the local vibes. - The hotel has a lot of history and nostalgia. - The courtyard, swimming pool, cafe, breakfast area are really nice and actually what is making this hotel. - The restaurant where we had dinner was beautiful, the food was nice and there was a local band and dancers and this was really nice. However on the expensive side compared to other good restaurants in Tangier. - The staff overall were nice and very friendly. However one male staff member in the restaurant was quite pushy for a tip but I did not feel this from the other staff members. - Hamam area was good and staff were very accommodating. - Cleanliness was good.

- The reception area where you first enter is tired and does not give a good first impression. - The room we stayed in (twice) is basic and on the small size but comfortable and clean. I hope there are nicer rooms with more Moroccan luxury and vibes. - The breakfast quality could definitely be improved. - Overall the only area that gives you that nice Moroccan feel and vibes is the courtyard and swimming pool area and the Dinner restaurant. I was hoping for more in the rest of the hotel.

This hotel is one fine authentic place of Tanger. You get treated like you're some royalty by the super friendly staff and they speak French, Spanish and English quite fluently. The room has everything you need and looks so pretty! The bed, that's something else.. you just don't want to leave it at all! Breakfast is fine and the staff brings you whatever you're missing or need. One in particular, Ilyas, was véry sweet and helpful. He always checked in if we were okay or needed anything else. He's awesome! Also the service at the pool is impeccable. Clean towels, drinks/food, all delivered to your sunbed by Abdessamih, an amazingly friendly guy. Nothing is too much for him. We felt very welcomed by the entire team and really recommend this hotel! We will miss this place!

The one minor thing is maybe that the room had a neighbouring door with the other room. This made it impossible not to hear some noises or people talking from the other room.

El Minzah offers an atmospheric stay with its fantastic location, perfect for exploring the Medina and Kasbah on foot. The classic Moroccan architecture is beautiful, and the outdoor pool is a peaceful retreat. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with great choices and lovely views. On-site dining and the spa (especially the hammam) were convenient additions. Overall: For a hotel with character, an unbeatable location, and a taste of Tangier's history, El Minzah is a great choice. Superb location for exploring. Beautiful historic building and atmosphere. Lovely pool. Delicious breakfast. Convenient dining and spa.

The Minzah is more than a hotel. The Minzah is a state of soul. It embodies the entire history of Tangier, nestled in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Sitting in its courtyard feels like sitting in paradise. Having a drink in its piano bar is like stepping into Casablanca. Everyone working at the hotel — from the doorman to the manager to the waiters — are some of the kindest, most elegant, and soulful people I have ever met in my life. As an actor, director, and screenwriter, I’ve traveled the world and lived in many countries. Nothing compares to my experience at El Minzah. Anyone visiting Tangier should spend at least a night — or two, or even a month — in this magical place, which holds the essence of Morocco and the world, from the 1930s to today. For me, it’s a second home. Thank you for everything. Everyone should visit El Minzah. I will return very soon — and I will keep returning for years to come. If I could, I would live at El Minzah forever, surrounded by that wonderful family. Long live El Minzah.

All was amazing

Traditional place with lots of history which is pictured in the inner yard of the hotel. Staff takes good care of the pool, inside pool is really heated, towels provided at both. Breakfast not truly continental but they make eggs to your liking. We got upgraded to the suite and enjoyed beatiful views of the Tangier port. Hotel restaurant serves alcohol so after testing many other places we ended up having a beer or glass of wine at the hotel due to its convenience and reasonable prices.

Cleaning was not the best when we checked-in but got better the next day. The interior of the spa shows its age. But we could see maintenance guys doing various works during our stay and we could hardly imagine how much work there is around such vast complex.

Location is superb - within easy walking distance of the Kasbah, the port and the Medina.

The hotel has been around for a long time (established in 1930s) and is unquestionably living on its past reputation. The hotel is tired and in need of some serious maintenance with many minor problems just not fixed - our in house phone had malfunctioned and was letting out a loud beeping sound. The solution just unplug it - no fix offered. The staff are off hand and in the restaurant downright arrogant bordering on rude. Overall it was a disappointing stay and I would not recommend this hotel.

Plenty of staff in evidence both in housekeeping and at breakfast. They were very efficient, polite and well trained. The location, between the old and new towns, was ideal for a short visit, and I particularly appreciated the sea view from the room.

The breakfast was very good, but could be improved in terms of the range of foods, and consistency (e.g. I enjoyed salad on some days, but there was none on others; same for granola). The hot food was unappetising and I personally avoided it. The coffee machine was a disappointment. A selection of teas and infusions would have been welcome. The 'fitness centre' was not up to the best standards.

The room was spacious, modern and comfortable with a view of the port. The reception staff are great. The spa was a bit disorganised but the treatments were at a high standard and the pool area and jacuzzi are an added benefit. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options for every palate. I would highly recommend this hotel in Tanger. It is also walking distance to the medina which is just perfect.

The lighting in the bathroom was a bit dim but otherwise, very spacious and modern. As mentioned above the spa was a bit disorganised but in the end it's forgotten as the massages were top-notch and the jacuzzi and pool area were great.

We loved this historic hotel with all of the pictures of famous guests scattered around the hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing with a large selection of items. The bar is great with a piano for live music and the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. The staff is awesome! They are so kind and helpful. It's also in a great location. You can walk to the medina in 5 minutes and there are a lot of shops and restaurants in the immediate area.

The only thing we did not like was the spa. We treated ourselves to massages, manicures, and pedicures and had a terrible experience. We left with bloody cuticles from the manicure and during the massage, the masseuse coughed and sneezed the entire time. The spa also did not seem very clean.

An utterly charming hotel in a fabulous location. I loved the history & the beautiful original features yet the room was modern & clean. Lovely outdoor pool area to sit & enjoy a G&T. The morrocan restaurant was good & included a morrocan traditional band & dancers. We enjoyed looking at the photos of all the famous people who have stayed at the hotel since the 1920s.

The staff were not very friendly; polite but lacking any warmth and no smiles! A very formal & old-fashioned hospitality style! The hotel overall looks like it needs a spruce up, it's showing its age in places. The breakfast was a bit ramshackle, again, poor hospitality from.the staff who were not welcoming and were not on top of the table clearing etc.
