We stayed in the double room and would definitely recommend! Ross was very friendly and helpful, the hostel was cleaned a couple of times a day so was always spotless, the mattress was great- one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on! We were there in august so it was pretty chilly and it is an old house but we never felt the cold as there was always a big fire going in the common room at night and an electric blanket on our bed.

Only downside was a bit of a bathroom shortage, toilets and showers were in the one room so could be a bit of a wait at times. There was an extra toilet outside for emergencies so it didn’t bother us but probably good to note for potential travellers with specific bathroom needs.

The ambiente was amazing, the people very nice, family dinners once or twice a week. Felt more like a home and less than a hostel. The guy owning it is super nice and can give a lot of tips where to go in the blue mountains

It was a bit of a pain in the ass paying before we left because there was some problems with technology and some people before me, so if possible pay via booking and not pay on arrival.

Amazing location, Ross was very friendly and often made food to share, the vibe of the other people staying was safe and friendly. I loved the “no screens please” rule in the lounge in the evenings, people were really social together. I would absolutely stay here again. Great value for money especially with the free breakfast! And there is even a cat, Guano, sharing the house and willing to accept pats 🐾

I didn’t sleep well on the bed, it wasn’t super comfortable. The lamp in my dormitory kept shorting and flashing. There are only two bathrooms plus outside toilet. Definitely don’t expect creature comforts, it’s a basic hostel, lots of appliances feel like they’re about to fall apart!

Ross was such a warm, easygoing host and the vibrant community at the hostel made it hard not to stay longer. It was a comfortable stay and chill vibes, lots of guitars and two sweet cats, engaging hallway conversations and quietness when needed. Very convenient location too and great value for money.

Checkin process wasn’t super clear but I arrived in the dark and had given them poor comms on my end and everyone was super helpful directing me to the right place.

I couldn’t recommend more this beautiful and cozy hostel. Firstly because is cozy and has a really unique style, even in the winter the main lounge was warm and the bedrooms were provided with a eletric blanket. Ross was so nice, he prepared an amazing pasta so everyone could enjoy together and have a chat. Staff were super friendly and amazing vibes there. We weren’t expecting anything like that and was such a good surprise!

Best hostel experience I've had so far! The staff are so kind and the place has a very warm and homely feel to it. Great lounge and backyard and people actually socializing. Kitchen has everything including oil, milk and a lot of seasoning! Breakfast is pretty basic but the bread was good. The town is really charming as well. Highly recommended! Would stay again.

The bed was a bit small, especially the height between the top bunk. Mattress is ok. Only 2 bathrooms, however I stayed for 3 nights and it was almost never an issue. There's an extra toilet outside. Sometimes they won't turn off the lounge music at night, but just ask someone and they'll do it

Friendly people in the house, friendly host who made me and my 10 year old son feel welcome. Host made a complementary dinner for everyone and provided free coffee/ tea and breakfast. We had clean towels and warm room. We stayed in a more expensive hotel the night before but Flying fox was more fun. My son loved the backyard with a swinging chair and the eccentric art decorations.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed, such a cozy social place, guitars available, plenty of nice hang out areas outside. Ross is amazing, a lot of knowledge about the area, he even made some nice pasta for everyone in the evening. Very social, so easy to meet other travellers. Private room was very cosy.

Be prepared you can start liking this place a lot and will keep extending your stay.

Everything was kosher all the way . Great host ,friendly guests, and an awesome free breakfast every morning to awake upon. A user Friendly and most comfortable common room featuring musical instruments where guests mingle for chatting daily . Highest recommendation 👌 👏 👍

Nothing at all to dislike

This hostel was my favourite so far in Australia! It had such a cozy, friendly, welcoming atmosphere and although the booking said breakfast included the owner actually ended up making us a free dinner as well! The use of phones is discouraged in the lounge area which meant it was so easy to have nice chats with fellow travellers. Absolutely loved it!
