The location of the hotel was great. It was located right across the street from the boardwalk and a 10 minute walk from the Fleet Terminal where you leave for the reef tours. They have laundry and parking on the premise. The pool was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful.

For the price point, the location was great with a fantastic view of the ocean. The hotel is maybe 3-4 blocks from the edge of the main tourist area. It was a short walk for me (~10 mins) and worth saving over $150 a night. I did a few different tours while in Cairns and all the ones with pick-up picked me up from the hotel. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I had problems with the onsite laundry, but the front desk attendant was very helpful and resolved my problem immediately.

N/A - It was a great stay. The hotel has a street in front of it and is not directly on the water. I'm not sure any hotels in the area are on the water, but if you want a totally unobstructed view of the ocean, you may be disappointed.

studio with balcony was clean and spacious for 4 people. There are single beds which can be pushed together to make a double bed. Bed ensemble was alright and fairly comfortable. Plenty of pillows, linen, extra blankets provided. Kitchenette has a microwave, plates, bowls, cups, kettle, mini fridge and cutlery. Tea/coffee sachets provided. No stove/no cooking. Smart TV has YouTube. Netflix available if you log into your account. Bathroom has shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. Towels good. Shower water strength excellent! Balcony was clean with chairs.

No complimentary bottle water. Shower/tub ceiling low and a 6foot+ person will have to crouch to have a shower. Don’t expect sea views from any of the rooms as the esplanade is lined with tall trees so views of the sea will be blocked. Overall the building looks to be like an old apartment complex rather than a hotel and is located in the further corner of the esplanade with a 15min walk to the reef fleet terminal. The sound proofing of the rooms isn’t great.

The room was fantastic for our group of 3 friends! It was a large room, clean and had a kitchen area with fridge & microwave & kettle as well as a dinner set & cutlery. The beds were clean & comfortable. Plenty of pillows & blankets if needed. We stayed on the 5th floor and there were 2 lifts which was great. The balcony was a good size with water & mountain views.The pool area was very nice & had lovely tropical plants and plenty of sun lounges and other seating. The reception staff were all lovely & really welcoming. And even took our postal packages to the post office for us as they wouldn't fit in the post box! Location was great just on the esplanade, across the road from the beach. There was a huge children's play area also across the road on the beach which would be perfect for families. And a short walk to all the restaurants & cafes.

Nothing really. Maybe they could add a pool bar or cafe but not a necessity.

The location was very convenient to shopping, restaurants and local tours. The apartment was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The view over the lagoon with a big balcony was very pleasing (see the sunrise). The apartment and hotel in general was very clean and the kitchen facilities basic. However, there were heaps of places to eat, within walking distance. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful.

The door into the entrance alley banged loudly and was used by two rooms. Other guests woke us when they returned late and let the doors bang.

Well, from the initial booking we were totally accommodated! First there were only 3 of us going to share the room and we had asked for 4 single beds - going to use 4th for luggage! I was contacted by the manager and told that the bed arrangement in the suite we booked could not be changed, but we decided that was OK. Then due to the cyclone between Sunshine coast and Brisbane we had to add another person. I phoned and changed the booking which was done without any fuss and minimum cost. We arrived close to 10 pm and were greeted by the cheerful receptionist and then went to our room where we found they had put 4 single beds. Room was immaculate, crisp white sheets and fluffy towels. Great shower - hot and strong. Nice smelling toiletries to use in bathroom. There was a beautiful pool there too, but we did not get a chance to use it. For breakfast we went over the road to Muddy's and were given a discount because we stayed in this hotel. I would stay there again!!

The only minus was the door to the bathroom - it swung inward and it was difficult to ease past it. Either changing it so it swings outward or shift light switch to other side and put in a sliding door!!! It must have been designed by a skinny man!! :)

The Cairns Plaza Hotel is the type of accommodation everyone wants. The most attentive and helpful happy staff. Great sea view watching all the ships, boats. It has all the amenities you need including 2 balconys with furniture. For families, there is a pool and a huge playground across the road as well as a cafe for all you want. The one bed apartment was spacious, and only a couple of blocks walk into the heart of Cairns city, and all it has to offer. Restaraunts, markets, shopping, Art Gallery, live music venues etc.

Nothing to not like.

This is a great place - simple and straightforward, with all the facilities you could need and good off-street parking. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good. There was a balcony with table and chairs from which there was a great sunset view. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is located only about a 15 minute walk from the marina, and a lot of good bars and restaurants.

There was nothing which could have been better.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The parking close to the lift made it very easy to move luggage to the rooms. The staff we met were very helpful and friendly. The location was great, being close to the end of the Esplanade away from the hustle and bustle.

Nothing stands out. We would have liked to have had a toaster in the room. It was also a bit uncomfortable on the balcony with the air con running blowing hot air towards the table and chairs, so we had to turn the living room aircon off to enjoy the outdoors.

Friendly hotel with excellent staff. Very good room size and effective ac (which was really needed!). Bed very comfortable but lacking an duvet. Shower was poor (weak flow and you really need a handset to get to those important areas), lighting in bathroom terrible (impossible to shave). Like most hotels in Oz, there was no double glazing. Given the close airport, busy road and noisy gardening I would think such sound deadening would be essential.
