Hotel Boutique Riviera Del Rio – July 4th Extended Weekend Stay We stayed at Hotel Boutique Riviera Del Rio over the extended July 4th weekend for five days and had a great experience overall. First and foremost, the onsite manager, Javier Garcia, was outstanding—friendly, courteous, helpful, and genuinely considerate of our needs throughout our stay. His attentiveness made a big difference. Our room, while smaller than expected, was comfortable and nicely appointed, with two sliding French doors that opened to beautiful views of the Puerto Vallarta hillsides. The bathroom was spotless, and the waterfall shower delivered both hot and cold water with the perfect massaging pressure we craved at the end of each day. We also appreciated the convenience of the three (possibly four) free parking spaces directly across the hotel, which was perfect for our rental car. The rooftop pool and bar offered fantastic views, and the bartender crafted some truly delicious margaritas. This was definitely a highlight of our stay. The only real disappointment was breakfast—we found it overpriced for what was offered, especially considering the many other nearby places serving better breakfast options for the same or less. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time at Riviera Del Rio and would recommend it to others, especially for the charm, comfort, and warm hospitality.

Obsessed. We stayed in the Green Room and I don’t think I could ever stay in another hotel again, this is it. If you love vintage charm, historical architecture, roof top pools, amazing bartenders ( jesus), amazing hosts (Ivan), fabulous river view breakfasts, and accessibility to the ocean, bars, and restaurants- don’t stay anywhere else. We made life long friends at the pool and honestly if I could live there full time, I would. Are yall hiring ??? JUST STAY HERE!!!!!

EVERYTHING

I have never stayed at a cuter place. It's obvious so much thought and love went into the design. We stayed here four nights and I kept finding new cute things to look at. The pools were great, the staff was so fun and helpful, the bed was so comfy, and there were cats! I'm not usually one to revisit a location but I definitely want to come back.

Open concept bathroom in the Candelaria suite (there was a curtain, no door or ceiling separating it from the main room) but nbd, there was a private bathroom just up the stairs by the green pool.

The location in Puerta Vallarta is amazing, right near the Romantic Zone but still far enough away to be quiet, it is right beside a small river and island. The hotel is great, especially if you love eclectic things, which I know I do. It has two pools and one hot tub, and you can get breakfast included for a small price (we did not have this, however we heard positive things!) We went swimming in the rooftop pool which was very warm for a slightly breezy day in Mexico, and went in the hot tub later. The service staff were all very attentive and helpful and we had a great check in experience, we were given free drink vouchers for the rooftop bar which was a wonderful welcome :)

My only complaint would be that there was not as much hot water as we (mostly I) would have liked. We had booked our stay because of the bathtub and I know I really looked forward to using it. We spent most of our vacation saving money at Airbnb's and had previously had no hot water, so it was disappointing to see that, while there was plenty for a shower, it did not fill up the bath as much as I would have liked. We also planned on going to the hot tub earlier but it was a bit chilly and were told that it did not heat up until after around 6pm, which was ok, it would have been nice to have known that from the beginning.

I highly recommend staying here. We upgraded to a room called ‘Jocelyn’ and it was an absolutely beautiful view over looking the river valley. The room was bright and had a little fridge. The staff were fantastic! We were greeted with a margarita and fresh pico de gallo with nachos. The location was located just a little away from the hustle and bustle of the beach front and was very quiet. I especially missed being served Mezcalitas by Jesus on the rooftop patio and pool. We were served a nice breakfast each morning while we chatted over our ideas for the day. If you are looking for a quaint boutique hotel experience this is the place!

It’s stone cold gorgeous. if you’re not staying there, I would put it on my sightseeing tour. There’s a duck pond, in the dining room, with ducks. My room, the pant towels, had spectacular views, and balconies on other side of the hotel room. You can hear the river all day and all night. It’s delightful.

I didn’t always have hot water in the shower which, when you’re paying USD $$600 a night, you expect that the plumbing will be working swell. I was very excited that there was a hot tub, or a spa Jacuzzi in my room. That required that you run the water for a half an hour, then check on her constantly. The Jets may work, I didn’t get that far. Breakfast was overpriced and lousy. There are a dozen places, within a several minute, walk that you can get a good breakfast and coffee for a third of the price. The coffee was particularly bad. if you don’t care about any of these things, the physical beauty and the location, are stunning and I would recommend this place without hesitation! The front desk staff is awesome!

The location of the hotel is perfect! Walks to the beach and boardwalk were quick. Views from the rooftop were amazing. The staff was fantastic. My next visit to PV will likely include staying here. Ivan and staff were excellent hosts.

The occasional barking symphony, but the hotel isn't at fault for that. Besides, the bed was so comfortable that I slept through it most of the time. I could probably hear it more than other rooms because of the thatched roof. This, however, will not deter me from staying again.

There is a lovely infinity lap pool on the roof with a glorious view. It is in a quaint area, very walkable, lively, convenient. Friendly place and staff. Decor is unique— gives you the sense of glamorous old PV. Recommended for someone who values charm over state-of-the-art conveniences like outlets everywhere and great showers. There is an elevator that works perfectly. A very memorable place to stay.

I wish they offered a room or two with two beds appropriate for two friends to share.

Location is perfect--walkable to everything but still in a quiet area. Great restaurant choices by the hotel. Loved the pool and our friendly bartenders :) The hotel itself is a joy--unique and beautiful. The staff is exceptional. Our bed was soooo comfortable, I slept like a baby! Loved having the hotel cats come and go into our room--so sweet. Just felt relaxed and easy to be there.

The single biggest downside was water pressure. It was literally impossible for us to shower in our room (Cortez). I didn't have an adequate shower all week honestly. We resorted to just running the water from the tub spigot and using washcloths to clean up--forget about washing or rinsing hair. Good thing I didn't care what I looked like all week! The hotel should try to improve this situation. It would take the experience from good to great.

Staff were nice and welcoming. They have a nice rooftop pool. Walking distance to the Zona Romantica and a lot of restaurants too.

The room we stayed (Green Room) was an old room. It had a black and green theme, which was ok for the room walls but not for the toilet(black colour) and bathtub(green) as it may potentially hide any dirts. The bathtub had an odd smell coming off from the hole also. It wasn’t so bad but could be better. The floor also is black. I get the boutique theme they tried to give the room, but the sanitary wears should be white.
