The Ashdown Park Hotel is a busy hotel and for good reason! It is a good value, well situated location-wise, and offers the best breakfast anywhere. Farm to table dining throughout and the most exceptional fruit scones I've ever tasted!

We did have to schedule our breakfasts; that seemed a bit rigid, given the fact we were on holiday and didn't really want to get up at 8:30 a.m. every morning for breakfast. Also, there weren't enough slots in the spa. Worse things could've happened though!

fabulous hotel every member of staff so warm and very welcoming and very helpful and friendly restaurants have great range of foods and absolutely delicious and to die for when I booked I requested a room with a walk in shower on ground and stayed there before and asked if the room I stayed in if possible to have it again and I did have it again they really do cater for your requests and needs the hotel is spotless threw out and the grounds are well maintained and well kept and very clean lots of parking hotel is very well located and walking distance to plenty of shops and the town highly recommended the ashdown hotel gorey excellent staff

This was a last minute booking for us and we got it for a great price, so we weren’t expecting much but we were absolutely blown away by the hotel as soon as we walked in. The hotel is glamorous, it was busy but relaxing. After we checked in and left our bags off to the room we went straight down to the swimming pool, swam and made use of the sauna, steam room and hot tub. Didn’t have to pre book this, just needed your room key to get in. Towels were also provided in the lockers. We had dinner in the Rowan restaurant, it was incredible. From the decor to the staff to the food, all amazing. There was a musician playing the saxophone which helped set the tone and make the meal extra special. This was our first time staying here, but we plan on returning.

This didn’t affect us but it might be off putting or upsetting to someone else. There was a travel cot in our room, not sure why. Maybe it was meant to be in another room or maybe I booked a family room. We never said anything to the staff because as I said, it didn’t bother us.

The pool is amazing. I love to swim. It's so clean! The pool and gym staff are so kind! Also the evening staff and reception really went out of their way to be helpful and kind.

The restaurant staff aren't very attentive. We had to go looking for our orders a couple of times at dinner. The WiFi SUCKS! Almost useless in our room. And the checkout process was confusing. I'm still not sure I didn't pay twice - i'll see on my next bank app.

Little to warm throughout the hotel.

It was central to all the attractions we wanted to visit so travelling was good.

Service at breakfast time was sketchy. Three mornings from five were excellent but the other two of our visit had food that had been in the heaters for a long time and incorrect breakfast requests. There were three weddings on over our stay so it was incredibly busy but no excuse.

Place was beautiful and staff are very accommodating. My mum and sister stayed for my mums birthday, the staff were excellent, upgraded the room on request and ensured the room had wheelchair access. They also helped with making it special with a birthday plan and prosecco which was extra but worth every penny to make the stay special. The receptionist was brilliant and organised a wheelchair taxi from the train station.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and not expensive. The room was clean. Gorey was easy to walk to. After extensive travel in Europe, it was lovely to hear the friendly "sing-song" voices of the Irish!

The pool was very busy with swim lessons. the room was a bit dated. There was the potential for a lovely Carvery but the meat was well done. But I am a carnivore so I think it was more cultural preference.
