This place was an amazing find! From getting there 1st impressions were 'wow' - staff went above & beyond to be pleasant & helpful, not many hotels treat their guests this way as it was just wonderful - cases carried from the car on arrival as the member of staff came out to the car park as soon as we'd pulled up, welcome drink on arrival, lovely little pack to take away with us containing water/apples & a snack bar - we will definitely be returning - other hotels need to take a look at the way the staff here are 💯 customer focussed!!

Everything about this place was exceptional. The staff were so welcoming & offered a glass of fizz on arrival. We noticed the lady carrying guest bags in. The room , we stayed in the best suite, was immaculate with the comfiest bed. The views are amazing and the surrounding is peaceful. We dined in their restaurant and wow 10/10 to the chef the food was faultless literally no room for improvement. Breakfast didn’t disappoint and the service from the morning staff was spot on. This is the first place we will return ! (I’m not one for this we like to try new places but here we would make an exception). The “travel bag” given on departure is a nice touch .

One of the waiters was a plastic snob but this is minor and we will tell the hotel 😳 but it was amusing and did not detract from the perfection of everything else .

Breakfast was good. We had the buffet but there was a range of included cooked to order options too. Room was spacious. I'd expected things to be a bit tired from other reviews but wasn't at all. Staff were all a delight.

There was a road closed (for 2 out 6 or so weeks) which actually didn't affect the route from Wetherby, but Google didn't agree. Wild goose chase. It'd be good for the hotel to share directions knowing this was a problem.

The staff were all wonderful 😊.The morning breakfast staff were all wonderful helpful, chatty and we didn't want for anything, special thanks to them and on arrival our check in was wonderful we asked for history about the building and she kindly printed off Information and we were given all information as well regarding child swim times and additional information. So helpful and kind.

The evening dinner seemed a little understaffed but it was bank holiday weekend, that being said they were.still had a pleasant meal as a family.

Beautiful property, sympathetically restored, warm, comfortable and meticulously clean.The room was very stylishly appointed with a very comfortable bed with good linen. The bathroom well lit with an abundance of quality towels and toiletries. Well stocked coffee/tea and a full bottle of organic milk. Good black out blinds and very peaceful. The restaurant was fabulous, we had probably the best dinner we have had in some time. The chef is talented and creative, the service excellent. The staff are outstanding- they seem to be very happy in their work and it shows.We arrived early and were immediately accommodated to get ready for an event. My wife felt a little under the weather after a very early start and the lovely receptionist thoughtfully came to the rescue with water and snacks.

There was nothing to fault

The room was fantastic, fantastic views and a great size for all of us. Food was amazing. A huge choice for breakfast. We brought our dog who was looked after just as much as us. The staff couldn't do enough for all of us. Several excellent walks to do and the hotel even provide wellies if you don't want to get muddy!

The steam room wasn't working when we were there. The pool was quite small and extremely busy at times with a couple of members determined to get their laps in taking up a large portion of the pool. Felt like an intruder just getting in their way.

It's a very pukka place! It is not pretending to be a cheap motel, and it is definitely not that! You pay top dollar, and the place matches the price. There is a welcome glass of prosecco, which was a very nice touch. The bedrooms are beautiful, and the service is more like butler service. The restaurant is very traditional, with lots of wood, and huge sash windows, white table cloths, and excellent service. The spa is very tranquil, and you can book a massage or other treatment. Breakfast is cooked to your order. There is lots of parking, which is good, as by car is definitely the best way to reach the place. On leaving, they even send you away with water, orange juice, fruit, and flapjacks for the journey!

Not a lot, really! The bill at the end is never going to be priced like a budget hotel, as this is a top-notch establishment! One gets what one pays for!

This place just excels! Lovely setting/atmosphere, nothing not to like about it at all

The only criticism if any was that we felt the glass between the swimming pool & reception area of the spa should be frosted like the glass round the jacuzzi as more private as we felt rather over looked when people were sat in the reception area, this was quite off putting to be honest

Room was comfortable. Breakfast was 10/10 - location fabulous

Shower over bath was very disappointing - I appreciate its an old building but for the price was expecting a walk in shower. Dinner was ok. Starters was venison tart which was delicious but lukewarm, main was pork which was very small portion and the cheese board wasn’t great either. Drinks are very pricey as well - for dinner and drinks in the bar our bill came to over £340 for two of us..

The location on a long private driveway through Yorkshire Daleslike Countryside is beautiful I can see it being an ideal wedding location , but any special birthday or even a Company Reward location for successful Employees.A real treat. The staff are amazing and make you feel on arrival that you are joining a family group, you immediately feel you are a member ! The building is Classic History and the immediateiate gardens a joy to behold
