We were so pleased with our stay and it far exceeded any expectations we had. The room felt really cozy and luxurious with underfloor heating everywhere, a massive and comfortable bed and lots of lovely added extras like the refreshments in the room and products in the bathroom and robes on the door. And breakfast was a 10/10. It is so rare to go somewhere where they actually make the breakfast from scratch rather than using powdered egg or frozen everything. The homemade granola was amazing and we really looked forward to our bespoke cooked breakfast each day. They could not do enough for us and were so friendly - it is incredibly good value for money.

Nothing - it was really brilliant

The pub was easy to find and in a quiet village. The pub and accommodation is set back from the road, so minimal traffic noise. The room (Swaledale) was clean, warm and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept extremely well. A rare occurrence, when away from home. Clean en-suite shower room with an excellent shower. Large white fluffy towels. The breakfasts were excellent. Plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again. We booked into the pub for an evening meal on the second night. Again, the food was delicious and the service was good. We would recommend making a booking for the evening meal as the pub is very popular with locals. Always a good sign.

This accommodation was set in a great location in beautiful countryside - we were going to a wedding locally so it worked very well for us. The rooms are opposite the pub in a separate building. This made for a very quiet and peaceful room, which was very modern and spacious. There was a large comfy bed and tea and coffee facilities were provided. The bathroom is superb with a lovely shower and all the facilities are modern. The staff at the pub are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent.

We didn’t like the underfloor heating - which we were unable to regulate.

Fabulous breakfast, lots of options. Had dinner on our last evening and that was good too. Comfy bed, nice linens and good shower room. Beautiful beer garden for relaxed G&T in the evening sun - we were so lucky with the weather! Lovely quiet village with no traffic noise.

Could have done with a dressing table and/or chest of drawers in the room as there was only a wardrobe which is no problem if you are just staying overnight but we were there for a longer stay.

It was excellent from start to finish. We stayed in ribblesdale it was very quirky and very well equipped. The staff were so welcoming and so efficient nothing was too much trouble. The food was unbelievable especially the lamb for the evening meal that was exceptional we would go back for that alone. Breakfast was also excellent and so much to choose from on the menu. The bed was so comfy also. Really good choice of beers and wines too.

The room was spacious, and all fixtures were fresh,airy, and appeared as new. Complimentary Beverages and snacks in room. A separate luggage rack is always a GREAT THING!! Bathroom very spa-like!! Birds and spring flowers everywhere. Very quaint village centrally located for day trips to the surrounding towns and Yorkshire Dales Park. Easy walk to breakfast, pub, and dinner. Owners and staff were attentive and marvelous hosts!

There was nothing we didn't like!! (Would have loved a little throw for sitting in the lovely window seat. Beautiful wood floors, but a small rug would have been welcomed, too.)

A really lovely stay to celebrate our 63rd Wedding anniversary ❤️. The room was delightful, very clean and lovely extra touches (robes and hospitality tray). All of the staff were very friendly. A big thankyou to Liz, Amanda and the two young waitresses. A special thanks to the Chef 👩‍🍳 . The food both at breakfast and dinner was super 👌. This Chef should be given a Michelin star 🌟. Hope for a return visit soon. Very best wishes to all the staff.

There's a lot to like! The room is very nearly perfect in size, comfort, amenities, and function. The space was very comfortable and easily large enough for two people and their luggage. The shower/toilette was super functional and very comfortable with special attention paid to the available soaps and bath robes. The coffee/tea included multiple options, crisps, cookies, and shortbreads. Additionally, the pub and available foods were perfect for an historic English pub experience.

Not really a complaint, but the room was up a short set of stairs. There was plenty of room to move our luggage up.

The property was stunning in a beautiful area. We honestly couldn’t believe how lovely it was. The room couldn’t be cleaner and was very cozy and comfy. The staff were wonderful, very polite and helpful. The breakfast was included, we had the full English and it was absolutely delicious and very filling. We would 100% recommend anyone to stay at the shoulder of mutton , we are already in talks about returning ! Thank you for making our visit a very enjoyable one

It was in a beautiful little village Pub was historic 14th century Staff very welcoming Food was amazing Breakfast was super plenty of choice The rooms were amazing so cosy everything you needed and extra little touches were so lovely they are better than the Hilton staff were so friendly and helpful it was like we were visiting friends not in a B &B Kate and Ruchard have put a lot of love into each room

I didn't like the fact I was only staying 1 night 🙃
