We stayed here after the value was better than a well known chain . We certainly were not disappointed . Arrived on a very cold night . Room was lovely . Huge . Spotless . Kettle provided along with some biscuits . Bathroom was again tastefully done and clearly newly renovated . Would definitely return again

If any negative it would be parking . Limited and not much room either . We parked on the main road if you resort to main road ensure you check the parking times and fees

The hotel is beautiful I can't speak for all rooms we stayed in a deluxe double and it was beautiful loads of space really comfy bed clean and warm location is brilliant right in the centre and easy to find we really enjoyed our stay and will be back

Parking is a nightmare as can't book and even we arrived there was no space but multi story is a 2 minute drive away and only £13 for 24 hours

The location of this hotel was fantastic. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were welcoming on arrival. Breakfast was really good too!

We had never stayed here before and it said there was paid parking available - we didn’t realise there would be so few spaces so they had all gone by the time we arrived to check in. That being said, the reception staff were very helpful and directed us to a nearby multi story car park which was only 6 minutes walk away. The room was also very hot and stuffy, we could’ve done with a fan in there.

Central very comfortable hotel, good breakfast and lovely staff. Bit surprised we had to pay £15 for parking as we were residents, this was the only thing that would put us off going back.

Paying for parking

Superb location in the heart of Harrogate town centre with a direct 8 minute walk from the railway station (really no need for a taxi). Hotel located In the midst of the shopping centre and near Bettys Tea room and other eating places. Rooms on the side of the hotel offer an excellent view of the town and the Cenotaph square. Good bedside lighting.Good breakfast. Lovely panoramic views of the town and beyond can be viewed from the 5th floor where breakfast is served.

Hotel and room decor was a bit tired and dull. The room itself was large enough with a nice view of the town but lacked some standard 4* amenities- minimal furniture -no drawers for clothing, no adequate size desk/dressing table, no toiletries, no internal telephone, no full length mirror.

I had to change rooms as one of the rooms was simply too hot. However the colleagues made this happen without a bother. They were super apologetic (over something that wasn’t their fault) and saw to it promptly. The rooms were spacious yet cosy. Very clean and practical for my stay. The colleagues in the breakfast area, are without a doubt attentive. You could tell they enjoyed their job and made the atmosphere really welcoming. The breakfast food itself was really good too. The trial breakfasts of avocado went down a treat.

Air con provided in all rooms would be helpful. The fans aren’t as helpful

I was born in Harrogate and moved away in my 20’s this hotel was always okay but dated and would not have been a first 5 choice! I usually stay at the white heart or west park I had to book last minute to come back for family and I wasn’t expecting much. Honestly, I was shocked in a good way I walked in and instantly found it was renovated and to a high standard. It didn’t smell old anymore and pre covid when I stayed it was very old! Worn and smelt. The decor is lovely and up market. The restaurant looks fab, the decor great and food looks amazing. I wasn’t eating but saw the food and presentation. My room for a single had everything in it even an ironing board and iron. The rooms were new. Modern, very clean and I would highly recommend. Parking is on a first come first serve so no spaces left, it’s also very tight and so I parked out on the road no issue. The hotel is £12 a night parking which is very good for a hotel but you can park free on the road after 6pm. The staff were so lovely and I learnt the sister hotel is the white heart?! You can tell with the decor .. Best kept secret in Yorkshire. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The room was lovely, a little tired decor wise but we had a fabulous view of the front and side of the hotel, from each large window. Thick heavy curtains made for a great night sleep and the bed was really comfy. The shower wasn't very powerful, no good for washing long, thick hair, but the bathroom was really clean. You do need to take your own toiletries, as the ones provided are limited. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very polite and welcoming. Parking is limited but we were lucky and got a space outside of the hotel. We would definitely go again. Good value for the price and excellent location.

Well appointed room. Very helpful reception staff. Fabulous location. Ability to park if a space available. Having an ice bucket and champagne glasses in the room as requested. Had a lovely birthday card left by the hotel staff in the room on arrival, a very nice touch

Noisy heater, very nosy staircase door near room 303 constantly banging even though there is a soft close attachment fitted. Understaffed bar early in the evening. Not been offered a better rate as a frequent visitor and getting the same price on booking.com even though I have always been advised to ring the hotel direct, which I did.

Location was extremely central, right next to lots of shops, restaurants and bars, and less than 5 mins to the train station. Lobby and restaurant looked very nice. Even though we didn’t eat here, it smelt delicious! Comfortable beds.

The shower pressure was very weak and the temperature wasn’t as hot as I like it. The bathroom tap kept spurting water out of the sink all over me and the floor. This is a small issue but I thought the tartan blankets/pillows in the advertising images were really cute and a selling point for me. These weren’t found in the room. TV was in a really strange place on the wall - unsure of how you could comfortably watch this from bed. Quite loud - could hear people walking in the corridors, slamming doors, etc.
