I recently booked The Studley Hotel as a special birthday treat for my wife, and it exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a lovely receptionist, and to our delight, the owner, Ardi, happened to be passing by. He personally welcomed us and even treated us to complimentary drinks, making our stay feel even more special and personal. The hotel itself is a masterpiece of ambience and comfort. The atmosphere is beautifully romantic, perfect for couples seeking a private retreat or those celebrating a special occasion. The first floor is thoughtfully designed with two exquisite dining rooms, private and compartmentalized spaces, a bar, a lounge, and a cozy reception area. It offers a unique balance of privacy and community, making it ideal for intimate dinners or larger celebrations. On the ground floor, the dining experience becomes even more extraordinary. The layout features unique compartmentalized zones, and the kitchen is staffed by an impressive team of ten chefs, each specializing in different cuisines. Whether you're craving Japanese, Italian, French, Chinese, or Portuguese dishes, they cater to every taste with precision and flair. The attention to detail and the variety of culinary options make dining at The Studley truly unforgettable. Ardi, the visionary owner, has also recently taken over The Divino, just a stone's throw from The Studley Hotel. This venue mirrors the elegance of The Studley, offering chilled-out compartments for dining and cocktails across the first and second floors, as well as a private functional area on the ground floor for parties and events. Both The Studley Hotel and The Divino are testaments to Ardi’s dedication to creating spaces that are welcoming, luxurious, and full of charm. Our weekend getaway was nothing short of magical, and I can’t recommend these places highly enough for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in a fantastic experience.

All was just perfect.

We booked a superior room which was spacious with a very comfortable queen size bed. The modern bathroom had a bath as well as a shower. Plenty of light from the windows. Good quality fittings and generous storage space, both hanging and drawers provided in the bedroom. As the room was in the attic space of the property we still had good windows which due to this being an older property could be opened and also gave a nice view over the town. Parking can be reserved in the hotel's own car park - although this is quite small. There is also a popular Pan Asian restaurant called Lotus on site.

As our bedroom was on the top floor and with this being an old property we did have a lot of stairs to climb as the lift didn't go to the top of the property.

General ambience. Part of a group of 12 who stayed 2 nights. Had dinner in the private Orchid Room on the first night. Service and food quality was excellent. The same can be said of breakfast. Good food and service. The hotel is well placed an easy 5 minute walk from Harrogate railway station and the town centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean.

Two minor things . Hot water took a long time to run through to the shower. We were in a top floor room. There is no lift to that level. It caused us no problem but anyone with mobility problems could struggle with the stairs. These minor niggles apart would stay again if in Harrogate

The staff were attentive and went out of their way to make our stay exceptional! We had booked a meal for the Friday evening in their ‘Orchid restaurant’ with friends who were also staying at the hotel. When we arrived at 18.30 the restaurant was very busy and the position of the table was quite noisy so we asked if we could have a quieter table. They were fully booked but opened their private dining room for us to enjoy a quieter table for our relaxed catch up with friends. The food in the restaurant was outstanding - there was so much choice - we all were definitely spoilt for choice. The hearty breakfast at just under £13 per head was lovely - a wide choice of cereals, breads, cakes, juices and for the mains; a choice of eggs, with an assortment of hot plates - the bacon and sausages were of great quality too! We liked the private parking available at the rear of the hotel and were able to pre-book before we arrived and pay for on check out. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Centrally located. We would definately return to this hotel when we are next in the area.

While the superior executive room was comfortable and spacious with all the facilities one could reasonably expect, the overall design choice was too stark (no carpet, plain walls without pictures, brown tubular fittings) and too teccy (7 or 8 different types of light fittings, difficulty in finding temp/venitilation controls and no room guidebook). Seemed more suited to an executive on executive duties than an elderly couple luxuriating. Not an overwhelming condemnation, but rather a difference of taste.

The hotel was lovely, I booked a small double bedroom and this was exactly what I got. Bed was comfy, room was clean and well maintained. Full English breakfast was very tasty but maybe a little minimalistic. I arrived after 3pm and the hotel gave me a parking disc to use for the main road (free 6pm to 9am) otherwise it was an additional charge for the car park.

Having to pay extra for the parking when the hotel has its own car park. The disc is a great help but only covers 3 hours free parking on the main street. I had the window open as the room was hot. There is a restaurant on site and the room I had was close by, unfortunately you had food smells coming in through the open window but this was not overpowering.

We pre-reserved the parking and a cone was put in a space with our car reg on it, I thought this was well organised and worked well. We were upgraded at check in to an executive room with a comfy big four poster bed. Room was a great size with a view out of the front of the hotel. The window had privacy glass. We were above the restaurant but didn't hear it so must be well sound-proofed. Location is great in a quiet area but close to walk in to the centre. There was a good selection at breakfast and the staff are all friendly and professional. Nice cocktails in the bar.

Great location in centre of Harrogate. Fab breakfast! On site parking is a plus in busy Harrogate (chargeable but worth booking), very friendly staff on reception. Nice looking restaurant and outside eating areas, sadly fully booked for our visit :-( We liked the covered seating areas outside on the terrace.

Having to slam our room door to get it to shut and having to pull the handle like mad to re-open our room door every time - very noisy for other guests, but no other option - Room 30) On a hot weekend we missed having air-con, and had to make the best of an electric fan on dressing table and windows as far open as possible.

Lovely hotel, situated right in the heart of Harrogate. Staff friendly and helpful and Orchid restaurant superb (if rather pricey). Simply couldn't fault service in restaurant - such a refreshing change to have a young waiter who was friendly and chatty. Food there fabulous. Room small but clean, with great shower and comfy bed. Will definitely return - loved it 😀

Some decor a little tatty and cleaner's cupboards opposite our room left open, with ladders leaning on wall outside throughout stay. Had to pay extra for parking, which - whilst convenient - was an extra expense, as was breakfast. Breakfast good, but - considering Thai influence and superb Pan-Asian restaurant - would have perhaps expected more choice of fruits for starters (e.g. lychees). Nice breakfast overall, though.

Did not have breakfast, we walked up into town which was literally 5 minutes away.The hotel was situated for local coffee shop and bars, lots of lovely walks in the park and I loved that there was plenty of benches scattered around for a welcome rest for the legs from all the walking.

It's not that there was anything to dislike, but the room was a little tired decorative wise. The kettle unit was cream plastic and attached to the wall, which was a little too high for me being small. It was a bit cheap looking for the stature of the hotel.Maybe I'm being picky but for standard of hotel would have expected better.
