Rooms excellent

Overall and excellent weekend. Tainted only on the final day by the behaviour of a man I assumed was supervising in the restaurant for breakfast on the Sunday. The manner in which he spoke to other staff was absolute appalling, loud and abusive. I would not employ this individual in a customer facing environment.

Staff at The West Park Hotel were incredibly friendly and welcoming and were communicative prior to arrival. The breakfast options were plentiful and the options were chose were delicious. We didn’t eat there of an evening, but I’m sure this would have also been delicious. Our room was clean, spacious, well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is located a short five minute walk from the centre of Harrogate.

We were grateful to have been advised of a private function in the outside area (5-9pm) 24hrs prior to our arrival, however this function did return inside after 9pm and to any light sleepers this would have kept them up as it was loud in our room, even on the second floor. I thought some of the walls in our room could use a fresh coat of paint and the duvet cover had some small holes in it so made it look a little tired.

Great Hotel, stayed here many times, second time in a penthouse suite. The building is amazing, there is nothing to dislike. Multi storey car park just to the side and only a few minutes walk into town. Great views over the stray and on an evening is a busy hotspot for the locals to relax outside.

Only the breakfast. We have never had success with the poached eggs but we will keep on trying. We both anticipated a runny yolk but 4 out of 4 were hard boiled. We still laughed and look forward to ordering them again.

We were upgraded to a Stray suite at the front on the hotel, lovely big room, a big bathroom with underfloor heating and a full size bath which is a bit of a novelty these days. Breakfast was very good, fresh orange juice, good quality ingredients and decent coffee. We did not dine in, but had a good Old Fashioned at the bar. Good location on The Stray and a short walk from Montpellier, Bettys and all the shops.

There are only a few parking spaces, so its either the on street or a nearby carpark. Hotel decor is a bit eclectic, a lot of bright blue, I did not not mind it but my Scandi wife was not a fan, but it would not put her off staying again.

Great high spec hotel and very comfortable. The staff were really nice and friendly and the location was perfect for us.

We used the on-site restaurant and thought we were able to get the special offer menu at the time we went. However we were not offered this and were given the standard menu. We therefore thought that the special offer wasn’t available. However half way through our meal another couple turned up and had to ask for the special menu of which they were given. I think it’s a little sneaky that you are not offered this when given the menu…..

Beautiful hotel, well situated in the centre, easy stroll to shops, restaurant and major attractions. Stunning room, and bathroom, comfortable bed, everywhere spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive, especially the lady on reception / check in desk. Breakfast was delicious with quality ingredients and staff were brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it exceeded our expectations, we highly recommend and will most definitely return.

At breakfast, the fact you can choose from the 'continental' menu to start, (fruit juice, yoghurt, muesli, etc) wasn't clear, (we thought it was either or), and opted for full English on its own, so maybe this could be made clearer, or waiting staff could explain when handing out menu's.

All the staff were so lovely and friendly and very attentive. Bedroom was fantastic. Drinks in the bar were excellent, and breakfast the next morning was perfect. Great location, it will be our go to hotel for Harrogate in the future.

Just one tiny detail, but in our bathroom the monsoon shower head is very low. Anyone over about 5'6" has to stoop under it, so it is slightly uncomfortable taking a shower. There is no moveable shower head. I am being picky about this, as everything else in the hotel was perfect.

Part of the Provenance group of establishments. I was contacted by the hotel prior to our visit to see about a free upgrade! Apparently we had paid so much more with Booking.com that they wanted to afford us an upgrade and include breakfast in what we had paid!! Absolutely excellent business practises and honesty from the hotel team. The staff were all very friendly. The meal we had in the evening was excellent as was the breakfast!! Cannot fault the hotel in anyway… and would definitely stay there again! Wouldn’t ever use Booking.com again… shame on them!!

Nothing at all!

We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was fabulous with a settee/seating area and a balustrade window overlooking "The Stray" which was lovely. The location is excellent just off the centre of Harrogate shopping area, yet overlooking the "The Stray". The receptionist was above and beyond helpful and friendly and helped us with our luggage. Breakfasts were very good and all staff friendly and attentive.

Car Park Facilities not available at this hotel, you are advised to park in a multi storey car park which is at the back and side of the hotel. The charges are £7.20 for 24hrs. There is no option of afternoon tea (biscuits, cake or scones) in their dining/lounge area (for enjoyment after your arrival mid afternoon)

Central location and easy check in . Rooms well thought out with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Room needs a little redecoration in places, lots of scuffs and marks on the wall. An impersonal stay with no reception staff visible after 6 ish, I do wonder what is to stop anyone just going up in the lifts to the rooms as there were no staff around apart from on check in. No dedicated resident area as far as I can see, just one huge restaurant and function room.
