Everything except the bill on departure0n the Friday. We had a meal in the dining room the first night which should have been approx. £85 however on our bill on departure showed £194 and listed items totally different to what we ate. The hotel had already taken the money from my card and then advised they could not check this now as they were so busy. We requested they confirm a s a p, but having received nothing by Sunday afternoon I telephoned and was advised it would be resolved on Monday. By Wednesday nothing so a email complaining, No reply, Finally Friday I rang and got a rebate sorted.

The long wait to resolve a simple matter. It should have been done quickly by the dining room manager.

Lovely hotel. Marble floors and very grandiose entrance foyer, reception and bar areas. Feels posh. A short walk from the bars and restaurants in town. Dinner & breakfast in Restaurant was great. SPA was good too, although free electronic lockers were a pain to work out how to use.

For such a big hotel, only ONE small lift ( of 2) worked. We were there for 2 nights and the hotel didn't even attempt to fix it. Apparently this is a common occurrence. So, you could end up waiting a while to get into the lift due to the queues. Also the public lift only goes to 4th Floor and we were on the 5th, so if you are elderly etc with heavy luggage, climbing the stairs to top floor may be an issue. They do have a service lift that goes to the 5th floor, but even though we asked, they would not allow us to use. go figure. very poor on that front.

The staff were great, as was the overall ambiance and quality of the hotel. The room was very good - quite large and substantial. The spa was nice, and free to use as guests.

Room service was haphazard - sometimes they came and, sometimes they didn't. The big thing for us was that the whole of the grounds at the front of the hotel was a building site in preparation of some annual show. This meant we had no use of the grounds, couldn't appreciate the grandeur of the place and had a longer walk into the town. We will definitely not be staying here again in the summer

It’s a huge old building, in a good location with parking but you do have to pay , the room was huge, clean with comfy beds , robes and slippers a mini fridge, safe , iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making, free toiletries, there was even two big fans . There is a spa with pool, sauna and steam room, guests have an hour a day access which is plenty of time. We had afternoon tea but beware of the £7 service charge. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant, there is a huge ornate lounge. Once you have checked in they text to see if everything is okay with the room.

£15 a night for parking, a company arrived to set up for a trade show they shut off the gardens and most of the car park .

Property was in a good location. Does pool and a spa

Wasn’t too impressed with food we had breakfast and an evening meal. I always have poached eggs for my breakfast and was impressed when I seen them. They was just so undercooked I could not eat them. Evening we stayed in for a meal as the weather was bad. I had steak and chips. Chips was the worst I’ve ever had tasted very greasy and steak was full of gristle. I had chicken Caesar salad for lunch and that was excellent.

The location and building were excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a huge variety to cater for all tastes. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool facilities were good and free to guests We paid for the afternoon tea in Carters champagne bar and it was very nice. We enjoyed the cocktails in the bar in the evening .Our room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The interior of the hotel is stylish.

The coat of parking was expensive at £15 a night. The room while clean was dated and some furniture was marked or stained. There were no USB charge points, the bathroom sink was slow to drain and it was very hot with little ventilation. Our room was on the fourth floor and 118 steps up from reception. Only one lift was working and the one that was working was very slow. The outside area was quite scruffy in some places e.g broken plastic but this could easily be remedied.

Very comfortable, excellent breakfast, we enjoyed using the swimming pool. The hotel was clean and well looked after. a good mix of traditional building (opened in 1900) and modern facilities. We very much enjoyed our stay and visiting Harrogate.

The lift broke down which was a nuisance bringing our luggage down from the 4th floor to check out. Minor niggle. The car park signs could be improved as there are 3 parts to it, I didn't think this was obvious driving in the entrance. Having said that it is a good car park with plenty of space.

I chose a mobility friendly room, which really was beautiful, well planned, very clean and comfortable and perfect - all except, it was at the farthest end of a corridor, around the corner and at the very end of the next corridor. Not so good for having luggage and a very long walk to and from the room - if the room had been closer to lifts or if assistance was given to help us from the car and in reverse, this would have scored 10.

How far the accessible room was sited from the lifts. It simply couldn’t have been further from them! (I say this as we booked a mobility friendly room)

Excellent location,5 min walk into town centre.Facilities very good,well appointed spa and pool,which was a main reason for booking the hotel.hotel clean and retained many period features Breakfast very good. Car parking reasonable cost and easy to pay at reception.

Breakfast finished at ten o'clock which was maybe a little early for a lot of people who were not in a rush, 10-30 would have been good .Hotel/restaurant information in the room was only available by scanning a QR code which not everybody wants to do,would have preferred written leaflet to read.

The Hotel is overall brilliant. The spa was great and very easy to use. They provide free towels and in the female changing rooms, they had hairdryers Straighteners, shampoo and body wash in the lovely showers and swimming costume dryers. The free lockers were abit tricky to use but not really an issue. Our room was a lovely size and clean. The breakfast buffet had a brilliant selection even had cheese. 😍 I think this was the nicest place we have stayed hotel wise. No skimping on the furnishings, everything was just great. Only slight issue for us was parking as there wasn't any spaces, so we put our car on the road outside. It was a disk zone but the reception had disks if we needed one. I hope to come back one day soon.
