The location would have been perfect, but Crescent City seems to have a lot of homelessness and crime. Lots of people hanging around the outside smoking, a gal was being questioned by police behind our room (3 police cars with lights on) and our bike was stolen off our locked bike rack off our car the night before we left. We should have asked motel if there was a place to store the bikes inside. However, staff is very nice, rooms were big and clean, easy to control temperature, very comfortable beds, shower had plenty of water!

It is not Bay Views fault that the location is located where there is a some crime. We supposedly paid a little more for ocean view, but the double queen room didn't have it. However, the rooms were huge! Lots of space especially for a family with kids. They had a lot of room to play. We had one party in the double queen room and one in a king room. Wish we had been on lower floor, third floor without elevator was hard to pack things up and down.

Staff was great - welcoming and attentive. Jacuzzi tub was large enough for two and water was as hot as you can handle. Room was clean and well stocked with towels and amenities. Bed was quiet and comfortable. Everything worked as expected. Morning coffee and tea had good variety. Nice accesible location on the highway close to everything.

Room shows minor signs of wear and tear. Just slightly run down like the rest of town not a big deal. AC or a fan would have been a plus. Probably not often used in this area but didn't feel safe to open the window without a screen.

The room was clean everything work.

The lady (Latino looking) that check me in wasn’t to nice, I wanted to see another room to see my options but she didn’t seem to happy or willing to her job, she ended up sending a toll man very nice guy and when we were walking down to see the other room I find out why the Latino looking lady wasn’t to happy to show me the room, she was on a rush to leave her job to go home, people like that need to understand that if they can handle the position they need to look for another job. Everyone else was very nice the lady the check me out was very nice and another lady that was there as well, but specially the guy that went with me to show me the room.

The room was clean, not new but very CLEAN! And fresh smelling, no hint of cigarette or pet odor (I was with my dogs in a pet room). The water pressure and availability of hot water was perfect. Every one of the staff I interacted with was very pleasant. The grounds around the hotel were clean and there was a lovely walking trail right behind the hotel in front of the ocean.

We had a second floor room, and there was a man who was very intoxicated and very dirty who was stumbling around outside the second floor rooms when we arrived and I also encountered him in the stairwell later when I went to walk the dogs. Also, the wall behind the shower handle is in need of repair, it has pulled away from the rest of the wall.

Oh my goodness. The staff went so above and beyond. It was me and my husband’s anniversary and we wanted to see the redwoods. The location was perfect and walking distance to the beach and lots of other activities. But the best part was that online, I asked if they could write “Happy Anniversary!” just somewhere in the room and when we opened the door to the room we were greeted by a handwritten card signed by the staff congratulating us on our anniversary, two fresh roses on the bed, chocolates, and our towels were made into swans! This was the sweetest, kindest gesture and me and my husband will always remember this trip and the hospitality of BayView in. If we come back to the redwoods, we’ll definitely have to book another stay! And the jacuzzi in the room was 10/10. This was such a romantic trip. Thank you all so much!

I had a great time, no complaints! They even offered us free coffee for the road when we were checking out!

I really appreciated the woman at the front desk when I checked in! She was very professional and clear about policies of the motel and went over the check-in form carefully with me. I really appreciated her clear, professional communication. I also really liked that they had black wash cloths for make-up removal. I hate staining white towels with make-up so very nice to not have to do this here.

The pillows were too hard, not able to mold for comfort. The comforter was stained on the underside when turned down. There is only one stairwell going up to the 2nd floor on the back side rooms so it took a bit of work to get my stuff to my room.

this is my second stay at this motel. I traveled for the Klamath Salmon Festival and chose to stay here again. I am very happy with my stay. It's an older motel and it shows, but it's clean and location is perfect. Staff is incredibly friendly. Bed was comfortable and slept well both nights I stayed.

The only issue (which is minor) is the lack of a window screen. It was a bit warmer this trip and opening the window was necessary. I always enjoy the fresh air when visiting the coast.

The rooms were VERY clean, the staff was amazing and friendly. The beds were comfortable, and generally I don't do well with hotel beds so I was quite surprised. Great location, walking distance to an aquarium and store, short drive to the beach and other attractions. The only 2 things that were a bummer, was the shower pressure was not good at all. Also not every room has an AC which we didn't know, bur they did provide a fan if you ask so that was good! Over all, I'd stay here again.

Such a charming little place, a little dated but if you can look past it, everything is still very very clean and everything is the room is nice and modern. Our 5 night stay in the Jacuzzi suite was amazing, while we didn't have a view of the bay, the view of the surrounding California wilderness is just a breathtaking sight. The room was huge! Very comfy beds and a couple of little chairs for eating take out at the table. The tub is by far the biggest and best jets we've had yet! We have a thing for these jacuzzi suites, and this is probably the 5th or 6th that we've had in the 7 years we've been together, and it wins! By far the best priced one, too, all the way from Vancouver to Crescent City! We'll be back California!!

Everything was perfect!

The room was huge- we got the one with balcony and hot tub- and although the balcony view wasn’t much to speak of, the fresh air was great and the jetted tub was great after a long day of hiking! Bonus for the 24 hour lobby with the automatic coffee machine making decaf or regular with all the options!

Location wasn’t great- convenient, but not the prettiest surroundings. Also the bed spread could use an upgrade and the pillows and bed weren’t that great.
