What a great pub for fantastic value accommodation, meals and general vibe! They are currently undergoing a big reno and we were delighted that there is a lift up to the first and second floors for the rooms, which you never see in country pubs. The twin room was enormous, with two brand new beds (queen and king single), a really spacious en-suite and large flat screen TV. The staff were really friendly and the breakfasts were great value. Highly recommend.

We were on a road trip around nsw. We stayed in resorts, apartments accross from beaches, pubs and even one caravan park. The Royal hotel exceeded expectations for $90 a night. We had a 50inch tv that you could sign in on your netflix account, frre wifi, a fridge, your own bathroom, a small balcony and the room was roomy. It was also in the center of town. I have given it a 10 for all it offers for this proce, but just remember it is a pub, but I loved it, and I would stay again. The food in the hotel is great value for money as well, my husband had the t bone for $20 and he said it was tender and just about the best he has ever had. Breakfast is at a reasonable price also. There is a common kitchen so you can do your own breakfast if you want. If you are on a budget or you like staying in pubs or you like staying right in town, this is the place for you. I have paid more at other places and have gotten way less for my money.

The hotel was established in 1859, so it is a tourist attraction in itself. It is inexpensive and in a great location in the center, also less than a 10 minute walk from the coach and train station. A real bonus is that the rooms have a kettle and a fridge. They also leave tea and plenty of soap and towels in the room. I also had been wondering where I can buy milk for the tea when I discovered the hotel left some in my fridge. I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was very good.

The food was amazing at the bistro. Food came out quick and was delicious. The staff there were amazing and bent over backwards to welcome us super friendly.
The room had a leak when a massive storm hit. Notified staff. A few intoxicated locals had us worrying about our car parked by the pub (one getting arrested by police on the bonnet scratching it) and getting back to our room after a late dinner. Although the security there did a wonderful job making us feel safe as we entered

The hotel is being done up but that did not impact my stay. The team that looked after us was excellent in every way, particularly the restaurant. You can tell that the place has been run down but they are on the way back. The price for the room was great.
The walk up the stairs, but that's my knees problem not there's. When the renovations are complete I would hope there is more lighting in the bathroom

I provided my own breakfast and dined at a restaurant that was not in the hotel.. I parked on the street, in front of the hotel, which was fine except that there was a frost overnight and I had to wait until the ice on the car melted. I would stay at these premises again. Value for money, central location and the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly.
My own fault, but lugging my rather large suitcase up the 44 stairs (I counted them) to the room on the second floor was a bit of a challenge, a was coming down the stairs when I checked out.

The breakfast at the Royal was value for money and nice sized serves.. the room was adequate, clean, comfortable and secure..
Would have liked a bible in the room but it may have been misplaced as a previous stay at the Royal yielded one.. no problem though.. I should have brought my own.. :)

Perfect location, great value for money. Very friendly staff, great food and good selection of beers and wines.
Our room faced the main street, traffic was noisy till later in the night. Building renovations in progress, not a real problem. Future visits will be nice once evething is done.

I really appreciated the fact that after a long day at work, I didn’t want to sit downstairs in the bistro to eat, so they allowed me to bring it upstairs!
I asked about the lightbulb in the bathroom being changed as it was busted but it never got fixed.

Did not have breakfast
We were disappointed there was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom or to hang up our clothes. We were in room 21. We are both in our 70's and found it very difficult to get up and down the steep stairs. It might be an idea to ask people if that amount of stairs would be a problem before a room is allocated.
