Room layouts and common spaces were well thought out to accommodate privacy with a clean and cosy interior design. The rooftop was lovely as well! Lots of space for all guests so it doesn't feel busy and crowded. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is opposite Taichung train station, close to bus stops, and there's a large ubike stand area just outside so it was super convenient to get around. It looks like another level of the building is being renovated for the new 'Ruder's Cafe' - I'm sure it will be just as beautiful when it opens.

You must take off your shoes when entering the hotel. Room is tiny and provide no space for your luggage.

Absolutely the location, right opposite the train station, close to Taroko Mall located behind the railway station with Carrefour supermarket open 24 hours, Starbuck coffee shop and loads of eateries and the new and modern shopping mall called Lalaport can also reach within 15 minutes walk. The pantry is neat and orderly with table and chairs with a nice view over the railway station, clean and functional, the roof top is nice to chill, all in all very satisfied with this hostel.

The room is quite small and no space to put up luggages, also the toilet and shower box no where one can put things, this is the downside of this hostel.

The hotel is right across from Taichung Station, with a great view of the old and new station buildings. Very modern design, clean rooms, and stylish common areas – perfect for young travelers or backpackers. The setup is very simple (just two beds and a bathroom, no TV or extras), which makes it affordable and practical. I recommended it to my son and think younger guests will really enjoy the atmosphere. For myself, since I prefer a more comfortable room with a chair and TV, I probably wouldn’t stay again. But overall, it’s a great choice for budget travelers who like modern style and convenience.

I didn't expect that the backpacker`s room is equipped with only two beds with a long proper curtain for each one to keep the privacy. The lobby is clean and bright where visitors can enjoy the free brakie or use the kitchenware freely(users are required to clean up afterwards). The floor-to-ceiling windows at the lobby provide a broad view of the Taichung station square. It's a great start of the day to sit by the window and enjoy the free brakie in the warm sunshine. I really love this hostel. Hence, the lovely staff are very friendly and helpful. 😄

It'll be even better if they can provide some free coffee at the breakfast time.

Everything was perfect and better than expected from a hostel (compared to my previous experience in Taipei). Really fell in love with the design and thoughtfulness of all the facilities there. I would have stayed longer if I had the chance and will definitely try to stay here again in the future. Taichung itself is also a surprisingly lovely city, I could tell from the thoughtfulness of the hostel, and the books they shared in the space with its residents.

Nothing much; everything was better than expected. There are even clothing racks on the balcony on each floor for residents to hang their clothes dry. Extremely thoughtful. Luggage storage after check out seems very secure. I like that they worked with the local businesses to establish a friendly network for visitors.

The place was very clean. There were a lot of common space where you could sit and relax while admiring the view of the city. The location was very convenient, especially for a person who constantly needs to travel between train stations like me. The bidet in the toilet is a huge plus!

I booked the 2-bed dorm, and the shared bathroom was between two bedrooms, which enables guests to clearly hear what the other was doing in the bathroom. I could not sleep until 1am because my roommate was very noisy in the bathroom late at night. Moreover, there was no hanger inside the bathroom, I had to hang my clothes outside the bathroom in a small "hall". But then then door looks straight to that small hall area. I would feel really uncomfortable if I was naked reaching out for my clothes at the same time my room mate opened the door.

Location was really near the Taichung main train station. Area is city compared to other parts of Taichung. But it is far from the places I wanted to visit (ie Gaomei Wetlands) But is on the same street as Miyahara so that was good. It was near Yizhong night market but Fengxia night market was super far. Room was industrial japanese feel, clean and comfortable. There is a safe for keeping stuff. I like the fact there are 'windows' into the common corridors, made it less claustrophobic. I love the room journal by each bed. So lovely to read and connect through each visitors' entry in the journal. Common areas are cute and comfy. Shared toilet was clean and sufficient. Wished for more hooks and hangers though. I love the roof terrace. It is like a dream separate from other places. I love the swings on the top tier. Kitchen on 12th floor only, it was clean and beautiful. Breakfast of toast & jam is free and sufficient. I really didnt fancy the breakfast $50 coupons to be used in surrounding shops (10-15mins away). I used the coupons to exchange for the popsicles the front desk was selling. It was healthy tasting popsicles.

There were homeless people on the streets just below the building. Maybe don't go out alone at night which I had to on the first night (due to change needed for the washer & dryer). I didn't like that there were money exchanger for coins in the laundry room. Apparently front desk says laundry room is only open till 10.30pm so can exchange coins with them instead. But I find that so impractical to limit laundry hours. Laundry room is separate from guest rooms so I dont think it affects sleep (noise-wise). Front desk can be a bit more approachable and friendly and English-friendly. Hostel vibe feels aloof, not great for meeting new people.

The interior decor and style of this hostel was immediately pleasing and soothing to the mind. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were many viewing spots where one could relax and enjoy the views of the city. The kitchen diner was very well laid out with plenty of plates bowls and mugs. There was a good selection of free coffee and teas. Breakfast was white bread with the crusts removed with butter and jam. There is a cold water dispenser outside the bedrooms and umbrellas are available at the elevator. There is a small safe in the bedroom for your passport and everything else sits on the floor. There is air conditioning and the sound proofing was excellent. Although I shared the bathroom with a guest in the adjoing bedroom I never saw her.

More hooks in the bedroom would be helpful.

3rd time there in 2-3 years. Love the big open kitchen, bed rooms, large common areas, ambiance. Felt like retreat every time for me. The shared rooms has great privacy, safety and comfort compare to other hostels with 4-8 people sharing a room. Nice that I am sharing a bathroom with only one room mate. I have also tried the 3-person room, has a couch, clean and comfortable, great for family. Very conveniently located either by train or long distance bus with only 4 min walk. I love the common areas in both 11th and 12th floor, great to relax, hang out and work with laptops. Large windows and great view.
